The Necklace Men Like

Day 23

Don’t you just wish that sometimes there was a big STOP SIGN that appears right in front of your face when you are about to make a wrong decision?

This morning I almost made one. Let me stress almost…because though the big STOP SIGN did not appear in my closet, I somehow shook off the fatigue and focused on the blog.

Twenty three days ago I challenged myself to see how long I could go creating different outfits from my closet without shopping for something new. Though the shopping thing has been much harder than I thought, (maybe I am addicted though I insisted that I wasn’t), I have continued to go for a different look every day!

I had to remind myself this morning that I was trying not to repeat an outfit because I was about to reach for a favorite that I recently wore. About that time, I heard the winds blowing outside and it also blew me back to my challenge. This sweater jacket sounded perfect.

I wanted a different white shirt from the one I wore last week, so I selected this one with the sequined collar and cuff. Sometimes these even go unnoticed at work.

My weekend discovery, Marylou, gave me the courage to wear one of the big rings I have accumulated over the years.

One note about the necklace…this one gets more compliments from males every time I wear it. For the life of me, I have no explanation as to why!!

A Special Guest!

Mrs. A & her scarf

The incredibly gorgeous Mrs. A stopped by to show me her new way to tie a scarf.  She said that she learned it from a website she has found that she really likes, http://jonesdesigncompany.com/.

I loved this scarf with a flower pin

  1. I love it! Why wait till a special occasion to wear sequins? Isnt' it amazing the effect a total stranger can have on you? I wish there was a close up of the necklace. One time I layered two large pearly beaded necklaces and for some reason men commented more on it than women as well. Go figure! You look lovely!! ~Serene

  2. ooooh, I'm a sucker for cuffed shirts, though I might never have thought to wear one for a work day.

Like Serene, I need a close-up of the 'necklace men love'

  3. It's an interesting necklace. Are the links fixed so they don't fall flat against your chest? It provides some dimension against the soft sweater.

It's a good combination with the ring. They have different depths without being matchy.

Ms. A. picked a winner with the pearls/scarf/shirt. The colors are perfect for her. Did she have any thoughts about wearing the pearls on top of the tail of the scarf instead of underneath?

  4. So many delicious things going on here. I'm glad you pulled out that cocktail ring. It's as big as a Christmas ornament, which makes it pretty darn awesome in my book! I love it, like absolutely adore it.
And that crisp white shirt with the flowy big-sleeved black and gray tunic/sweater is a great combo.
I also zoomed in on your pics to try to theorize what it was about that necklace that's getting all the rave reviews from men. Hmm, I wonder if there's a fashion psychologist who could weigh in? I do know that I like it. It's strong, and architectural and quite cool!
