Singing the Blogger & Busyness Blues…(with a smile!)

Presentation Ready!
Blouse, Jacket &; Scarf: Stein Mart
Skirt: Dillard’s
Shoes: WalMart

The end of a high school year is similar to the holidays…very hectic. Last week was our awards ceremony and the Jr&Sr Banquet where the junior class officially hosts the graduating class with a full blown gala evening. I was up past midnight last night seeing off the seniors as they left for Branson, Mo for their senior trip this week. I would love to say that I was way too busy to be upset about the Blogger situation…but my week began with a power cord issue… peaked with Blogger going down… and concluded with camera problems!

Dana Buchman Necklace from Kohl’s
I think the necklace and scarf were made for each
other, though they came from different retailers.

So frustrating!! I am pondering a change over to wordpress and this week just might have convinced me that the time is now. Once I get past my daughter’s wedding in June, I plan to spend some deep thought as to how I really want the blog to look. Hopefully, Blogger will not have issues until I can decide. I really do not understand logistically the differences between the two, but I do know that many sing the wordpress praises!

This seaming in the back of the jacket is very slimming

Technology…not fun sometimes! But, putting a look together….that’s fun all the time! This was what I wore for the awards ceremony… since I was a presenter. I found this jacket at Stein Mart and absolutely love the fit! The lines and the large hooks just under the bust make it so flattering. To me, it looks very expensive….NOT! I rarely purchase anything there without a coupon, and with the coupon this jacket was $35!! It is worth much more to me, because I feel so good in it and this is one of those empowering looks that just make you want to go run some company after putting it on!!  Maybe it will empower me so much I can avoid technology problems!!

  1. You do look great!
I know everyone buzzes about wordpress, I was on wordpress and moved over to blogger. lots of self-tech stuff to do wordpress but I hear in the long run its worth it.

I will read your blog no matter the host/server.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Very nice outfit and the scarf and necklace were made for each other. So glad that you played matchmaker and brought them together. I've never shopped at Steinmart but now I need to check it out. I'm two sizes smaller than last summer so have been working on putting together an entire new wardrobe. Spent Friday afternoon at the thrift store and scored big time. Got a $134 brand new (tags still on it) Talbots blouse for $12.00. In total purchased 11 items for just under $100. Thrift stores can really help fill in the gaps in a budget wardrobe while losing weight.

  3. you look great! I'm with you on the busy time of year blues- I feel like I'm running in circles!! Good luck!

  4. Oh my goodness, Pam I was having a bit of a blogger freak out too. I didn't know how long I could stand it. I was having blogger guilt knowing what I wanted, nah, needed to post. I'm not sure I want to do wordpress but their name did swim in my mind as I tried repeatedly to post.
PS. you look beautiful as always.

  5. "Maybe it will empower me so much I can avoid technology problems!!"

heehee – we can always hope 😉

just a perfectly beautiful look for you!!! i love the way the jacket fastens, with the necklace and scarf the focus is all on your gorgeous face and hair. perfection for being a presenter as well!

i have to say that stretch fabrics are so nice these days that i've taken the plunge on a few pieces. i love the way that you can wear a nicely fitted profile in complete comfort – it strikes me how welcome this would be in a high profile situation. good luck with the technologies! steph

  6. You look beautiful in this. I love the finishing stitches and the hook front is fab…so chic and elegant. Perfection on you.

I, too, had a minor freak out over the blogger outage. I will be interested to hear about your thoughts on switching to wordpress. I started with blogger because the set up was so easy but now I wonder if in the long term it is the best platform.

PS: Your jacket is so great that I immediately went on the Kohls website and used the store locator. I need to check this place out.

    Thanks again!

  7. Hi everyone….the jacket is a brand called PHLOE MADISON from Stein Mart!! The necklace is from Kohls…I didn't want anyone to go to the wrong location and be disappointed!! 🙂

  8. Hi Pam! Thanks for the shout out! It's nice to meet you too. I'm empathizing with you on the busyness factor. I have three kids graduating in three weeks! My oldest just graduated from pharmacy school (I now have a doctor in the family :-)). My middle grads from college in a week, and then my youngest from high school. I'm also working two jobs (I do freelance on the side, because I don't know when my full-time job is going to go belly up), so I WAS NOT happy when my post disappeared 🙁 I'm struggling with trying to find enough hours in the day as it is, I really didn't need a do over.

  9. Firstly, let me just say that you look fantastic in your new jacket! It is very flattering!! It's nice to find a piece of clothing that gets you through things like blogger crashing and other tech issues that inevitably come up as a blogger in general….

Good luck with your decision – I must say that I'm a WordPress lover all the way 🙂
