Favorite Autumn Colors: #1 Yellow

In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil. And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb colour effects as from August to November.

The best part about this time of year is the display of color! These are my favorite colors…deep saturated hues of yellow, orange, green, and red. I have discovered that as I have moved on in years, the vibrant, saturated colors are my best friends. Because of this, I tend to avoid the pastels.

So, in honor of the visibility of autumn, I will kick off a series theme about this season’s colors on VISIBLE MONDAY. Today’s color focus is yellow….or saffron, or gold, or whatever name you would like to give it. At this time of year in South Texas, we enjoy to bright yellow lantana, Carolina jasmine, golden squash; as well as, the incredible leaves which fall from only a few trees. They are fabulous and so inspiring.

I have been attempting to break from my comfort zone a little at a time and enjoy some fun prints. This desire led to today’s blouse from Stein Mart. I was really drawn to this print and the pop of yellow made it something I did not currently own.

Tomorrow, we will celebrate another autumn color; but until then, please go over to NOT DEAD YET STYLE and enjoy the talented ladies who participate in VISIBLE MONDAY

  1. Pam, you look lovely as always! Love the pop of yellow. I listened to your radio interview. Very good! You are so well spoken and interesting.
Thanks for your comments on my post. I am sorry for tempting you with the desserts. They are healthy desserts though, so maybe once you are done with your diet this time, you can try them.

  2. That's a gorgeous blouse, Pam! the graphic print is very modern/chic. Love your garden pictures — our Florida gardens do beautifully this time of year too.

Thanks so much for bringing your fashionable self over to Visible Monday!

  3. Very nice! I always forget how wonderful yellow and purple look together. My favorite fall colors are the oranges and rusty reds. I'll look forward to your next post to see if they appear!

  4. Hi Pam…gorgeous blouse, it looks great on you!
Thank you so much for popping by and for adding me to your blog…I really appreciate it…worldwide free shipping!! 🙂
    Have a great week, Pam.

  5. I think you look really great in strong colors, and I think you are wise to skip the pastels. I am loving that bag and you look good in a pop of yellow. I don't think that would be such a good color on me. Every fall I want to wear everything in the aubergine/wine/dark red family.

  6. Love colors in that first photo! I am so indecisive, and since I was little I never could pinpoint my favorite color, I just loved them all. Now I can say green is my favorite, but in the fall definitely terracotta (or burt orange) and of course yellow.

  7. That yellow really enlivens that outfit — yet there's enough black in the rest to keep it grounded. Overall, a great balance! For me, I'd say my favourite fall colours would be rust, chocolate brown, and purple/wines.
