Coldwater Creek Tweed: Worth the Wait!
I am so excited to be visible in this jacket today…it’s a great way to celebrate VISIBLE MONDAY! I ordered this jacket a couple of years ago from Coldwater Creek….the minute I saw it in the mail catalog! The colors of the tweed jumped right off the pages and into my closet.
But, at that time, there were two problems:
1. The jacket was too small….did not button in the front.
2. The jacket is very heavy and really needs cold weather…something we have very little of… to wear comfortably.

But, I did not want to send it back…I loved it and wanted to wait for it. Most fashion experts advise not to do this…”make sure you keep in your closet only those items that actually fit.” But, I just could not send it back. I do not have very many items like this (just hanging around while I diet) and I understand the wisdom of the fashion advice; however, I am really glad that I hung on to this jacket! (It also looks amazing with my new Jana Kos burnt orange coat!!)

So, today is a victory celebration!! Down 30 pounds, the jacket buttons and (miracle of miracles) we have now experienced cold weather BEFORE Thanksgiving. I do hope that one day the jacket will be too big, but this year, I plan to really enjoy every minute I can with it.
Does anyone else have a favorite piece that you do not get to wear as often as you would like??
Now head on over to NOT DEAD YET STYLE and take a look at the beautiful ladies of VISIBLE MONDAY!

Rock on my "little" blog friend. There is nothing like watching those lbs fade away!
Keep it up, your body is is melt away mode and will go the whole route that you choose to take.
When I was loosing weight the one thought that helped me was to eat to live not live to eat.
I am still a carbo junky but stay away from all the fat I can.
Those are your colors, Pam. I can see why you had to have this jacket! And glad you hung onto it!
I have winter things that I might only wear once a season, sometimes not at all if it never gets really cold.
I'd be a fool to give my down coat away just because we'd had two warm years in a row because it's likely the third year would have me hunting around for it during a cold snap.
Congratulations on the 30 pounds!
You look great! It's hard to believe that it's cooled off so much after the summer you had.
Oh, I can see why you loved that jacket enough to hang on to it. It's *gorgeous!* I love those colors!!
Yes, that jacket was so worth keeping, Pam – you look fantastic. Love it with your orange topper! Thanks so much for participating in Visible Monday.
one-third of my shoe wardrobe is boots, and i rarely get to wear them here. same with big heavy knits and coats…they rarely come out with our year round warm weather. the jacket is pretty. i can understand not wanting to send it back. definitely worth the wait….love it with the orange coat!

Hi Pam, I love that jacket! I always fall in love with a few things when that flyer shows up in my mailbox. I get so jealous of people with their cold weather clothes, although I guess in the middle of the winter they would switch with me.
I have high boots that are only good a few times a year, but I love them! I also have a pair of lower motorcycle type boots that I bought on Ebay and have sworn to keep forever even though they are already kind of worn
You have lost 30 pounds, wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. What an achievemente, Pam.
Lovely jacket indeed, better with a skirt, just joking, LOL.

That IS such a nice jacket. I'm so glad you waited! And that orange coat is gorgeous.
Believe it or not, even though I live where it's cold, I often don't get to wear my heavier blazers and jackets as much as I'd like. Indoor environments tend to be overheated, and I'm very active at work. I have a plum corduroy jacket that I love, but I wear it infrequently because it's hot and confining. Like you, though, I hang onto it.
Congrats to you Pam on your weight loss success….thats awesome, keep of the good work…and what a gorgeous jacket, love it:)
Happy Monday!

Congratulations on your weight loss. Most of my jackets don't button up due to my bigger middle, but I wear them anyway.
I do have jackets that need cooler weather which we usually have an abundance of in the fall and winter. I used to be the one who was cold all the time so I could wear heavier clothing than most and be comfortable. However, my system has changed and now I am warm most of the time. I just dress in layers so I can be more comfy.
Everyone is right, the oranges are great colors for you! This outfit is just beautiful on you.
This looks soooo classy. I know what you mean about not having a lot of cold weather–much of my family lives in the Austin area, and have the same "problem"! Living in Northern Illinois myself, I have a hard time mustering up sympathy! 🙂
I love that you're able to (beautifully) wear that jacket now. It never hurts to have that one item in the closet that you can call to mind when temptation strikes!

Good for you for keeping the jacket. I resent all those "expert" rules, no matter how sensible they are. And congrats on the weight loss!
Beautiful tweed jacket and with that burnt orange jacket, totally stunning. You continue to inspire with your determination!
I'm so glad you didn't send it back. It not only fits you, there's room for a big sweater underneath! So great. I love it. The colors are fab.
xo,
Tracy
Well worth hanging on to. I keep some special things forever, knowing that they will come back into my life someday, or come into my life someday. You can't deny love.
I love tweed- so agree it was worth the wait.
Like you my weather is either to warm or too cold for tweed. But I've got some pieces. That I never/ seldom wear. But the look of tweed=delicious!
That jacket does look great with the orange!

It looks great Pam! I am a big believer in holding onto things if you love them! It makes them all the sweeter when you are able to use them! Congratulations!
Wow — congrats on fitting!
Such a great feeling to be able to button that jacket once again! I am loving your red coat… such a beautiful color on you. xo
The coat and jacket are lovely colours – I like how the tweed is shot with the same red as the coat. Well done on getting into the jacket again! It must be like reuniting with an old friend.
Congratulations on such a weight loss accomplishment!! The jacket is beautiful and I'm also glad you held onto it:-)
Getting to wear clothes we want to, but can't, is the best motivation for weight loss for me.
That orange coat is fab by the way also!
