I hope you enjoyed all of the posts on life in San Antonio…you can certainly see that it is a city exploding in color…our Hispanic heritage rejoices over color!

Experimenting with color was within one of my goals for this past year. Last January, I wrote eleven posts with eleven priorities I wanted to set for 2011. The list included:

1. Choose joy…no matter the circumstances. I want to be a survivor…not a victim!

2. Learn more about technology; and, as much about social media as I have time to pursue.

3. Get out into the community and cover stories for the readers of this blog

4. Be courageous with my fashion choices and occasionally step out of my comfort zone

5. Get healthier.

6. Remember, as a teacher, I am a role model for high school students, and for work, I need to dress in professional, confident, strong, appropriate styles.

7. Meet someone new every day either through a new blog or out in the community covering stories.

8. Take better photos and have more of me taken outside of my classroom

There are so  many fun things to take pictures of…like these decorations at River Center Mall!

9. Reflect sophistication…an image of an educated, dignified, confident woman when in the community

This is what I wore last week to interview a local jewelry designer!  Hope to bring you
that story next week!

10. Make more purchases at consignment and thrift shops.

11. Get organized and stay organized.

I confess that when I typed number eleven, I laughed out loud! I have organized and re-organized (and am currently unorganized) several times over the year. But, all in all, looking back over this list, I think I did pretty good. Number two still frustrates me. I have so much to learn and so little time, but I definitely know more than I did this time last year. Don’t worry, I am not about to hit you with twelve posts for 2012, but I do hope that by this weekend I can set some goals for next year.

How do you think you did with your goals for 2011? Please share!!

There are splashes of color all around…lots of inspiration to keep it going.  This is San Fernando Cathedral in downtown San Antonio!

  1. Truthfully… I didn't make any resolutions in 2011. This year is going to be different. Love your resolutions. I love that you mentioned to always choose joy. Those ornaments are very cool and you are rockin' the bright jacket! xo

  2. Pam, I really want to get organized too! Must do better at time management. I love your pictures and the jacket that you're wearing in the picture? PERFECTION…that's such a great color! Hugs and looking forward to all the great things 2012 will bring! ~Serene

  3. Pam – I really enjoyed your last few posts showing "our" city. Some of it I didn't know about and will be sure to visit. You have done well with your blog and stuck to your 2011 goals. I can certainly vouch for you on #3, as I saw you at the Tim Gunn event! Next time, I will be sure to say hello and finally "meet" you.

Have a wonderful last few days of 2011 and a Great New 2012!

  4. Happy New Year to you, Pam! I look forward to seeing what you share with us in 2012. Great photos, and I really like that orange jacket on you.

I'm not one for NY's resolutions usually, but in 2011 I re-embraced color, and began trying to work more color into my wardrobe. For 2012, I do have some plans to continue to do some serious decluttering (not just my closet, but all around the house) and try to simplify, simplify, simplify.

  5. Those were excellent goals, and from where I can see, you did very well! You can count me as one of the people you impacted in 2011. You have encouraged and motivated me in my overarching goal of being the very best "woman of a certain age" that I can be!

By the way, I LOVE that outfit. What a way to dress up a denim skirt!

  6. I love you in orange, I seriously think you look better in it than anyone I have ever seen. As for 2011 goals, I write down every single month any new thing I have done, whether I met someone new or had a new experience. It forces me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. I have been doing this for a year and a half now and intend to continue into 2012 and beyond. Happy New Year to you Pam! Do you have a picture of yourself in a statement necklace you can send me? Adrienne and I are back at it for January, we'd love to include you (and anyone else reading this!). The post goes up Jan. 3. XO, Jill

  7. That orange is gorgeous on you!

What a great list you made for 2011. It looks like you accomplished many of your goals.

I skipped the whole NY resolution thing last year – was pretty bah humbug all season in 2010. But this year I am excited to make a wish list/list of goals for 2012. I hope you will post yours so I can get some inspiration!

Like Jill above mentioned, I hope you'll join us on the 3rd for "How I Wear My: Statement Necklace".

    xoxo, Adrienne

  8. Technology can be seriously intimidating; I grew in this tech-age and I still feel out of place among social media "gurus" (I think that's what they're calling them now) Anyway, google and wikipedia are your best friend! The internet has pretty much any information you need on that stuff 🙂 And of course IFB does a lot of posts on social media; I love them. I haven't made a list of resolutions but I'll definitely get on that.

  9. Merry (belated) Christmas! I so enjoyed your photography series on Christmas in Texas. THank you for taking the time to document and post all of that festive travel inspiration.
Good luck on your goals. I'm sure you'll do well!
