Winter Fashion….For Me, Time Is Running Out!

I am well aware that time is running out for us here in South Texas to enjoy our winter clothes. In fact, the forecast for Saturday is into the lower 80s!! I have written before of my love affair with fall and winter clothing. I think it’s mostly due to the fact that we have warm weather for so long where I live and, after all, variety is the spice of life! I get bored with the warm weather dressing!  By September…it has become old, old, old.

Red Cardigan: $1.99 at Goodwill
Cream Colored Blouse and Bracelet: Kohls
Denim Skirt and Tights: Lane Bryant
Boots: Ross
Perry Ellis Scarf: Marshalls

We know that things will warm up in January and also during our rodeo in February, we will experience one or two really cold days! That’s about it! Therefore, you will most likely see me look for ways to enjoy my boots, tights, sweaters and wool jackets as much as possible on the blog before the opportunities fade until next October. Today, I realized that I had not yet worn this wool scarf…so I fashioned an outfit around it. The scarf is just too warm for spring and summer.

Are there items in your closet you would like to wear longer this year??

Time is also running out on the Shabby Apple Skirt Giveaway…make sure you have your name entered!! Just click HERE.  Also, make sure you tell your friends about this…easy way to start off spring with a really cute skirt…they might not forgive you, if you don’t include them!!

  1. With the wind chill, we are having below zero temps. We have the problem in reverse, ie. we get sick of our Fall/Winter clothes and long for Spring and Summer, both which are shorter seasons here. Anyway, I am ready to put the boots away already!

  2. I have a couple of wooly sweaters and skirts that I save for the coldest days of January. Some of them came out this past week.

I have no regret over the snow items that have stayed in my closet this year!

  3. Hi Pam!
After living so long in Montreal's winter weather, i would not mind sunshine all year around. Winter never seems to go away here!
I would like to wear my combat boots all year around!
    Have a good weekend!

  4. I feel the same way – although we don't get as warm as you do.
I have a beautiful Zara coat that I try to wear often and a sheepskin jacket my husband bought me several years ago in Wyoming. I rarely wear it because it seldom gets cold enough around here.

Have a great weekend! xoxo, A

  5. This winter has been WEIRD here in Maryland. one week it's 50-60 degrees, the next its 20 degrees. I really haven't been utilizing all of my sweaters at all and I LOVE Fall/winter dressing!
    Love the outfit-especially the scarf!

  6. What a gorgeous look! The colors are beautiful and the look is very modern and cheerful. I hope I can go through my blog and maybe we can become followers. =)
    Have a great weekend!

  7. Try living in the North of England and you will soon long for warm DRY weather. Our Springs are beautiful, Summers short, Autumns can be spectacular but Winters seem long, cold and very wet.

  8. winter will still be around for quite a bit here
it is freezing and raining as i type
i do remember the days of living in houston though, you were lucky to wear a long sleeve shirt in the winter time lol

  9. Pam, the issue that I'm having here is the spastic weather! One minute it's REALLY cold and the next day it's mid 60s! I miss all of my heels….I tend to gravitate to boots in the winter and I'm ready to break out my heels! You look absolutely RADIANT!!!! I love how you styled yourself around the favored scarf! Happy weekend to you! ~Serene

  10. Ha ha–I'm on the opposite of the weather spectrum–I get sick of boots, layers, long underwear, hats, gloves, etc! Looking forward to wearing my summer dresses. Migrating to fl for a month to do so!

  11. Beautiful colors in this look. I have so many sweaters…and I have yet to scratch the surface of wearing them all this winter.

  12. I love that burnt orange on you, dear Pam.
We have very similar weather. We are still waiting for winter, apart from two rainy days.
