Parisian Influences: Scarves!

Friday is the last day for the Paris Party Blog Event and it has been so much fun to read many different
stories of this amazing city.
I have just about exhausted all of
my resources except to tell you about one more elegant blogger who actually
lives in Paris and discusses the lifestyle almost every day….Tish of A femme d un certain age.
I love it when Tish takes her
camera to the streets of Paris and shoots what the women are wearing that
day.  It is easy for her  to find the chic, stylish
women of a certain age , and see how they love SCARVES!  We share that love.  I confessed in THIS POST how many I currently
own.  After I counted, I decided that
every time I want to purchase a scarf, I have to make myself either donate, give away, or
consign one.  Last week, four went away
to the consignment store!!
I feel very “French” when I wear
them!!    So, here’s to scarves…to Tish… to Anita who hosted the Paris Party and
to Paris!!  Have a fabulous weekend, all!

BIG FASHION NEWS!!! (Ha,Ha)
Gigi just experienced a fashion
related injury!!  She found a pair of
fabulous platform shoes at Nordstrom’s Rack, but the first day she had them on,
she fell off the platforms and twisted her foot getting out of a car!!  There are days when all flats look really
good….

  1. Pam–you are the queen of scarves and styling them!!!
Poor Gigi–hope she heals quickly but I had to laugh that she fell OFF her platform shoes!! Sounds like somethingI would do!

  2. Oh, hope Gigi doesn't need to wear the brace for long! And the black and white scarf is just gorgeous. I take it you got 4 new ones, since you consigned 4. Am I right?

  3. Thank you so much for you well wishes and always for your inspiration! Tell Gigi that happens to me too! Usually when I drink to much wine. Gigi? Wine? Have a great weekend!

  4. Pam….I have that scarf passion too. Could get me into trouble if I'm not careful!

I have really been inspired by many of your "Paris posts" to recommit to better self-care. Your posts intrigued me to explore more about the topic and I came across the book Lessons from Madame Chic. I've been enjoying the book and it's descriptions about how French women are very deliberate in their eating, dressing and skin care regime. I feel like all of these lessons I'm gleaning here are taking me on a journey to a better self.

I really like the photo of you in the black dress and scarf…very sophisticated.

  5. Oooh nooo!!! You know, I have always been pretty agile on heels…this is a good lesson for me however, to SLOW DOWN on those heels!!!! My principal at school caught me the last week of school RUNNING down the hall early in the morning in 4 inch heels, trying to get my report cards done! She was rather amazed at my athletic/fashion prowess!teeeeehheee…OH PAM, you are perfect for the Paris fun. All your fashion sense and beauty has really made this a WONDERFUL event. Thank you and I will put your name in the pot for the shoe! Anita

  6. You understood perfectly well, but in the link I didn´t manage to get the photos as well, so I just deleted the whole thing.
I wanted to do it onces for fun sake, but I never mind…
I am sorry about your foot.
Looking WONDERFUL in that black dress, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Much love, my dear Pam and best of weekends.

  7. I do love scarves myself and I save for a Hermes one.I've got around 30 at the moment and I wear them all the time.

  8. Awww, Pam, you are such a sweetheart! Thank you so very, very much. You know I love your blog and am so glad we've become "virtual" friends through this strange, strange medium.

I'm trying to decide whether I should count my scarves — or not. I don't think I come close to your collection, but I so get the obsession. What would we do without them. You look so chic in yours.

Take care of your foot. And, good for you that that doesn't stop you from having a pretty pedicure.

Again, you're the best. Merci mille fois.

    xo,
    Tish

  9. As you know Pam I also adore scarves; I haven't donated any lately….and have had some for more years than I want to admit!

A scarf really polishes an outfit and yes, they make me feel very French indeed!

    xoxo
