Visibility Comes with Confidence…and a Facial Only Helps!

I must be a slow learner!  I have too many regrets in my life…you know,
things I know now that I wish I had known then!
One of those regrets is that I ceased to take care of myself during most
of my (kids at home) parenting days, so it has only been in the last eight
years that I have taken care of myself at all!

I know now that feeling visible
and confident is improved when I take care of Pam …dress nice, eat healthy,
exercise, have refreshment times, and treat myself to pampering!  So, when aesthetician, Kathleen Haagenson,
invited me to visit her spa, I did not have to think twice….I was in!
Kathleen’s desire to help women of
all ages began when she struggled with acne during her teen years.  “I know how it eats at your self- esteem,”
she said.  “Now I just want to help girls
feel and look their very best with proper habits and facial care.”  For some of us, ageing is the same as
acne.  The saggy, wrinkled skin can zap
our self-worth with the snap of a finger in front of a mirror, if we allow it.
Kathleen Haagenson, 28, aesthetician and beauty consultant says she loves
the intimate setting their spa provides.  She can follow up on her patients and
they become like family!!
So, with a heart of service,
Kathleen attended the Aveda Institute in San Antonio, became a certified
aesthetician and beauty consultant, and joined Edans Med Spa, located in the SA
Medical Center area.  The spa itself
opened a little over one year ago and includes the services of physician, Dr.
Khym Zarzuela.   They offer a full slate
of spa packages including physician supervised weight loss programs.
When we discussed women of a
certain age, Kathleen confirmed that we will be much more confident with
regular facials and occasional body perks such as the seaweed wrap and the
gesso body wraps.   With exposure to so many free radicals on a
daily basis, it makes sense that we would feel and look better with procedures
designed to detoxify our systems.   She
said I got a good detox, because I was parched after the seaweed wrap!! In
fact, I downed water the rest of the day!
I would love to try the gesso wrap before summer is over…it is designed
much like a cast placed around that tire I carry in my middle and will create maximum sweat and eventually inches off from fat loss!  Sounds great to me!!
For the 45 minute seaweed wrap, you are placed inside of  this infra-red blanket , which
really heats up in order to promote a good detox…after a thorough slathering in seaweed/mud,
of course!!
I will confess I was a little
nervous when she asked me to be a guinea pig for a new facial she has
designed!  But, I decided to trust her….she
has a great smile…. And go with the new Summer DeTox Facial….I am the first one
to get it!!  She performed a deep
cleansing, manual microdermabrasion, a seaweed/mud/clay masque, and toner.  I confess I cannot stop staring at my face…it
looks amazing….tight skin, less wrinkles…it feels great!  I also received time under the LED
light.  Kathleen said she has regular
patients who call this the magic machine, and come on a weekly basis to get a
treatment.  She said it is a miracle
worker with tightness, age spots, and wrinkles!!  My face feels like it went on a vacation and my husband said he now wants a facial….he has never said that!
The magic LED light therapy for maximum facials!
This isn’t R2D2!!  It is a pain free, no needle way to get rid of cellulite! The
Lumicell Wave gives the same results as the French mesotherapy injections
given for anti-ageing, weight loss, and cellulite.
If you are in SA, then call
Kathleen at 210-348-8089.  She suggests
planning a summer spa party…either a facial party or Botox parties.  You bring the guests and they provide a
discount on the services, wine, and
cheese!! Or refresh yourself with her Summer DeTox Facial..it is amazing!  Also, look for a Botox special in your Groupons late in the month!

  1. I wish I had an esthetician like Kathleen. She sounds wonderful!
I am way over due for a facial..need to put that on my list of to-dos.

  2. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I'm with Adrienne on this…I wish I had and esthetician like Kathleen!

Maybe one of these days I will get the gumption to make my first spa visit!

  3. LED lights…really? I am obviously overdue for a facial. I will always remember the first time I had one done…I was just like you, couldn't stop looking at and feeling my face. It was amazing. Your outfit looks very chic…especially with the pop of red.

  5. Dear Pam- you look radiant and its more than just an expert facial- it's you picking up the self-love, something a woman often places on the backburner while she rustles around playing teacher, mother, wife. But please relieve yourself of regrets. I feel that this adage is always true:The time is NOW. It is always perfect timing when you stumble onto a good thing. You are discovering at the right time the value of self-care. And you are kind beyond measure to share your new lessons and vibrant self with us today. MUAHZ! -Bella Q the Citizen Rosebud

  6. This makes me want to go to a spa! And that LED light… I have one somewhere!!! I used to use it all the time but when I moved to Atlanta I forgot about it. Now I need to find it! You got me all excited! I love your blazer and blouse and those cute red shoes are adorable!

  7. I miss my regular spa appointments. Am hopeful as my son enters Kindergarten that I'll get more time to do it more often again. You are so right about how great a facial can make you feel.

  8. One can only dream of spending a rainy Monday like you did! Your striped blouse looks very interesting, will you be showing it without the blazer? I love the red shoes, they're so cute!

  9. A facial is one of those things on my list that I really need to try one of these days. This post was a really good introduction to what I might expect, since I had absolutely no idea!

    You are looking radiant!

  10. You look so radiant! Love your outfit. I would love to get facials, but at this point in my life they are something I can't really do right now. Maybe someday I'll win the lottery and can do fun things like this. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Maybe we should do some research and see if there are some at home treatments we can do that will help us.
