Amberen and Weight Loss: Fight Those Pesky Menopausal Pounds

While eating healthy and being active may have kept your waistline trim in your 20s, the fact is, it’s not that easy for older women to maintain their weight. Sure, having children can be blamed for the pesky extra pounds, but menopause is a sneaky, and often overlooked, culprit.

Studies have shown that 90% of women experience menopausal weight gain and even women who have been active since their 20s can expect to gain an average of one pound per year for twenty years following menopause. It’s not a coincidence that extra pounds are put on during this time: the hormone fluctuations during menopause directly impact appetite, fat storage, and metabolism. Weight gain is to be expected during menopause, so don’t blame yourself: blame wonderful Mother Nature!

Just because you’ve experienced menopausal weight gain doesn’t mean you can’t also experience menopausal weight loss. While menopausal weight loss requires more than simply changing your diet, it’s not impossible. Some women focus on tightening up their midsection, since the belly is the first place most women experience weight gain. Instead of doing hundreds of crunches a day, try pilates or yoga: they put less stress on the back and joints and may be better for women over 50.
Other women turn to herbal remedies or dietary supplements; for some, these are ideal since they contribute to weight loss, while also relieving common menopause symptoms, like hot flashes and irritability.  One such solution, Amberen, has been clinically tested for relief of common menopausal symptoms.

Amberen and weight loss go hand-in-hand, for one core reason: Amberen helps maintain the hormonal balance that makes it easier for women in their 40’s and 50’s to lose weight. In addition to eating healthy and maintaining an active lifestyle, taking Amberen will help you get back in shape, and look and feel better and younger than ever before. Weight gain during menopause isn’t the end of the world: it’s just the beginning of a new approach, including change in diet, exercise routines, and incorporating Amberen into your daily regimen.

  2. Getting old is a bitch! I put on those 10 lbs and its so hard to loose. They just came with menopause. Then I went back to dance, Zumba, and initially put on more weight! Awful. But I think a few have come off since then; I don't know quite frankly because I am afraid to get on the scale!
