Tea Room on the Gruene

What do Texas ladies wear to a tea party?  Well, you are about to find out!  We were invited to fun Gruene, Texas to the RIVER HOUSE TEA ROOM for a 60th Birthday celebration of a dear friend!  Her daughter hosted a tea in her honor!

GRUENE is a quaint Texas Hill Country favorite sitting on the Guadalupe River and known for restaurants, Bed & Breakfasts, boutique shopping, and the Gruene Hall…a dilapidated old building where anyone who is anyone in country music plays… where Jerry Jeff Walker once tossed his gum from the stage to the top of my sandals…another story for another time!!

Here is a sample of what some of the tea attendees wore:

She always shops at Talbot’s…her favorite place!

Love this lace jacket!!

White on white was beautiful!!
This was a lovely style with a print tunic and colored skinny denim!
Nice touch to add a belt and accentuate the waist!!
Delicious Food by a woman-owned business!  It was a lovely event…tomorrow I plan to take you shopping in the boutique next door with my friend Karen…along with my weekly Generation Fabulous post!
Also, this week, I will be in Chicago tagging along with Mr. B who is attending a conference.  I hope to post regularly, but we will see. I want to enjoy the city…hopefully, I can bring you some fun posts!

I’m wishing for everyone to have a great week!  Don’t forget to enter to win the dress …click on it at the top of my sidebar or forget that it is time for VISIBLE MONDAY!!  and MONDAY MINGLE!!

  1. Hope you enjoy Chicago! My daughter & son-in-law live there and we always enjoy visiting. You should take a segway tour of the lakefront. Son-in-law manages the tour company in Millennium Park. We tried it last year and had a great time. The web site for info is: chicagobikestation dot com. Have fun!

  2. Enjoying your street style tea party photos! I would love to start doing this on my blog. Just got to brave up and ASK people, I guess. Looks like you had a lovely time. Enjoy your trip! Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com

  5. We went to a suprise 60th birthday party Friday night. We talked about what nearly all the ladies wore: cropped pants, a cute top, sandals. Few jackets due to the heat. We had a great time and hope you did too!

  7. Love this. It looks like a fun place – somewhere I'd like to go to!

I'd love to know where one woman purchased the lace jacket and the other purchased the white on white tunic. I love them!

    Thanks for another fabulous post!

  8. What a lovely way to celebrate a birthday! Looks like a great time was had by all. Enjoy your trip to Chicago!!

  9. In Peekskill NY is Kathleen's Tea House. It is decorated with every kind of teapot you could imagine. The tea is served in mismatched teacups. Kathleen makes a ladies luncheon a delight with a special chicken salad and fancy desserts. It is such fun to go with girlfriends for a leisurely lunch. I hope you have a wonderful time.

  10. What a fun gathering, in an especially delightful place! The gals were certainly stylin' – I especially love the little mint number – and the plate of food!
