Inspiration: Pin It, Rip It, Find It!

So happy to discover I am not the only one who hates rides!! Thanks for the comments in the last post.  Of course, one of the reasons many of us turn to fashion blogs is for inspiration!

I am old school in so many ways, and I still like to keep a book of plastic sheets full of looks I found in magazines I like.  Just marking these pages in a book I can quickly thumb through helps me…but I realize Pinterest is really the same concept!  Although, my book doesn’t go down when the Internet connection does!

Here is Elle MacPherson in an outfit I liked and kept in my book for several months.  My interpretation went this way:

Keep inspiration looks and revisit from time to time.  It does help to have a bank of ideas and mix things up a little bit!

Happy Thursday everyone!

  1. I love that you have an inspiration book and there is something fun about the tearing out of magazine pages. I also love that you did the dark wash jeans. I'm not a fan of the ripped jean look. You look lovely. Sending hugs. xo

  2. Oh my goodness, I'm going to copy your idea of the binder. I just have magazines around with dog ears and it's hard to remember what to put on my sewing/thrifting list. Your idea is perfect. (Although I do pin things, but I never seem to spend much time on Pinterest. Apparentely, there is a disconnect there for me).

  3. I like your take on Elle's look. I have way too many magazines in the house and you should see my clippings folder of outfits I have liked. It frightens me, it is so big. I can't deal with Pinterest, it would be just another thing to manage and take care of. XO, Jill

  4. I switched from print outs to Pinterest as well when I started blogging. Sometimes it is nice to go through the old inspirations and see how my style changed, stayed or evolved over the years!

I love pairing jeans with a blazer and animal prints!

  5. Love the monochrome look with the shoes that pop! I still cut inspiration out of magazines before I get rid of them. Old habits die hard.
