Style Icons: From Red Carpet to Real World Wardrobes

Bloggers were buzzing yesterday over the hits and misses from the Golden Globes red carpet.  I would like just once in my life to wear a dress like CATE BLANCHETTE…front and back…so gorgeous.
However, drooling over Golden Globe gowns is different from admiring celebrities for their style.

Can that really help us out?

Well, let’s discuss it today over at Midlife Boulevard!  Click HERE to see more guidelines for discovering your personal style!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

  1. She was by far the best dressed; although bloggers who dress themselves ( no stilist and top brands) move my core much more.
Love and sunshine, my dear Pam.

  2. Hi Pam, I picked the same dress for my latest post, ha ha! Cate looked amazing and I loved the light-handed makeup on her. Gorgeous. XO, Jill

  3. Personally, I am more impressed by the everyday woman, with an average budget, and loads of creativity. Thought the fashions were indeed beautiful, it just seems so out of reach financially. Therefore, I dont try to duplicate what theyre wearing in Hollywood. When I do bump into a celebrity, Im more pleased when I see them dressed in a cool outfit that the picked.up on Melrose or in Santa Monica.

  4. I'm glad to see that dress from the front. The photo I'd seen before was from the back where it was, in my middle-aged opinion, sheer. Not for non-thong wearers. I follow Beyonce on my Instagram feed and there was a photo of her in the dress yesterday, from behind. She's got a way better hiney than Blanchette and the dress let us know.
I'm good with Beyonce in a lacy sheer dress, she's a singer and they prance around in skimpy costumes without a second thought. I thought Blanchette could have done better. It's like she's channelling a 1970s era Cher costume.

  5. It is very pretty. Many . many years ago I used to have places to go where I would wear an evening gown. Now I wear a t shirt, cardigan and jeans… giggle. xo
