Camilla Olson Designs…Wardrobe Building from Nine Pieces!

About this time last spring, I introduced you to the impressive Camilla Olson in this post, HERE.  I encourage you to read her interview in the past post and meet this amazing intelligent, creative, stylish woman.

Camilla sent me this wonderful CLASSIC, FIRST IMPRESSION SHIRT to wear with the scarf she sent last year…amazing textiles and fabrics. The blouse is available in several colors.  She would like to invite us to consider her nine-easy-pieces philosophy.

She writes,

“What are some of my design principles?  Pieces should coordinate so that nine pieces can make at least 30 looks. We should be able to fit most body types (size 2 – 16), skin, hair and eye colorations. Clothing starts with the fabric. Textiles should be delicious to the touch, always. Form follows function. Classics rule. Strive to hide body parts that don’t want to be shown. Give the wearer the choice to show body parts that might want to be shown. There must be something interesting in each piece, but never ridiculous. Try to place openings near the front so that the wearer can open/close herself. I am designing and offering tools for women who live full, fast or busy lives, who just want to make getting dressed and looking great easy.”
I have been impressed with Camilla Olson since I first was introduced to her designs. They are beautiful and very impressive….I confirm, they are delicious to the touch! And if my outfit looks easy…well, it is! And in one of my favorite color combos…taupe with black!

  1. Hi Pam, I love your scarf! Such pretty light colors together. Adds some pop to your jacket/top. Lovely. I too, am doing this more and more, buying investment pieces, seeing what colors I need to match what I have, putting mutliple outfits together with several pieces. Smart.

  2. These pieces do look good and I adore the bubble dress with sleeves in blue. I like how all the items work together.

  3. I so agree with her about your wardrobe co-ordinating…you have many more variations of an outfit that way…and it keeps your wardrobe simply, stylish…as always, Pam you look fabulous!
    Happy Wednesday. xx

  4. Love the concept of investing in good basics and having some fun with tops and color. I'm on board with anything that makes my 'getting ready for work' mornings easier! Karen

  5. Love your pieces Pam and the philosophy. The next time I am able to travel I am definitely going to put the 9 piece wardrobe to work!

  6. This is such a nice outfit and I am in love with those shoes! I should really check out this book because I am so bad at putting together outfits! My wardrobe mostly consists of jeans, black sweaters and grey tops, with band tshirts thrown into the mix. Now that I'm getting older and ready to enter a more professional career I feel I should start putting together a more professional looking wardrobe.
