San Antonio Saks Fifth Avenue Welcomes New GM

If not now, when…..a sentiment pondered by many empty
nesting couples, but for
Dennis and Karen Trammell, it meant
leaving their true homeland, Birmingham,
Alabama, and going
south to San Antonio, Texas. Like Dennis, another Birmingham
icon was the Parisian Department Store organization (originally
founded in 1877).
This is where Dennis began his own retail
journey and after 18 years it led to SAKS FIFTH AVENUE.
He was pleased to serve as the General Manager for the
Birmingham SAKS for thirteen years, and intrigued when they
mentioned an
opportunity to oversee the San Antonio North Star
Mall location. He and his
wife were up for an adventure and
decided to hit the trail towards the land of
vibrant flowers, diverse
cultures, mariachis, and, of course, enchiladas!
“This was a great opportunity,” Dennis said. “We joined an
established
team, already known for great service and customer
loyalty within San
Antonio.”  He began on February 10, but it did
not take long to see
this was the best sales associate team around
with a reputation for quick
response and delivery.  “If you desire
CHANEL, this is the place to
call.  We deliver results and very
personal attention. We will find what
you need for any event,” he
said confidently.
“I want to continue the great legacies left by my previous San
Antonio general managers, Todd and Bobby. They created the
solid foundation of
personal service for our customers. This is
what put this store on the map and it will go on.”
He also sees this same friendliness in the entire town as well.  “We
love the
synergy of San Antonio…the closeness of
the neighborhoods…the openness and acceptance of
everyone.  It is truly a big city with small town flair,” he said.
San Antonio welcomes Dennis and Karen…look for him on the
sales
floor for a renowned friendly Texas welcome!
And
remember, it’s never too late to take a risk!
Happy Saturday, everyone!

  1. My sister-in-law lives in Austin and I shopped with her around the town. Generally I was astonished how friendly everyone in the store seemed. You don't see this in the north. It's a refreshing attitude!

  2. Oh, I think I need a visit to Saks!

Dear Pam, I am not leaving, but simply taking a break. But a decrease in comments and even seeing a decrease in blog posts from others has left me sad.

We all work hard to create posts, and I'm left a bit disappointed that many people just stopped. So I shall stop for just a while, to gather my thoughts and reset my goals. I don't think my blog is simply the place to share poetry. So what to do? I don't know. I guess it would work out if I simply posted photos and said nothing. Thank you for coming and leaving a kind word. I will be back. Anita

  3. Lucky you – Saks will be fantastic with them there!! Being from B'ham, AL, I can say they did a wonderful job in Saks. I don't live there presently, but every time I was "home" (because B'ham will always be my home!) I did stop in since it was a fabulous shopping experience. I'm sure they'll be missed, and can't wait to see what happens next for both of the stores!
