A Pop of Summer! Celebrating Color! And Fashion Flash!
It is hot in South Texas! Yesterday’s heat index was 105…so no doubt, we still have summer to deal with though school has begun.
This is what I wore for the first day of teaching high school. I have started my 15th year as a teacher, so I thought it deserved a few pops of color for celebration!
Living in San Antonio, we love our color! A color explosion floods the senses everywhere you go.
The first time I wore this CHICO’S jacket on the blog, I styled the look with bronze ballet flats, and a simple gold necklace. But today, I wore these STEVE MADDEN (BOUGHT AT MARSHALLS) cork flats with orange tips…then added the beautiful beaded necklace my husband brought me from Alaska.
This is my way of beginning a slight transition out of my flip flops toward a more professional summer look for the classroom. Pretty soon my bright orange will turn to burnt orange and my red will turn crimson as I begin to transition to fall…too hot to think about that today!
I am joining in today with the amazing Sacramento from Spain and other stylish bloggers to show off our summer style. Check them out HERE!! and MONDAY MINGLE!

What are your favorite looks as we come to the end of summer?

Beautiful necklace!!
Oh this is lovely! Indeed how these orange bits pop. Beautiful shoes and a beautiful necklace. You have begun this schoolyear pretty well.

I love the red necklace. And that mural on that wall is way cool. Hope you have a great day!
Happy 15 yrs teaching! And heres to an amazing new school year!
What a great look Pam! Love the pops of orange (great shoes!!) and I love that jacket! You always have the best necklaces! I live in Ohio and can definitely feel a change in the air. Even though it is August, you can just get the sense that fall is coming. I am still in my summer things as long as possible, but have been thinking of ways to change things up to transition into fall. Your color choices are a great example of how to transition gradually!
Happy Monday Pam! Love your 'pops' of colour…orange has been my favourite colour this summer…I can't wear it but it's such a striking colour and my daughter wears it so well.
15 years of teaching…congratulations…quite an achievement 😉 xx
Beautiful photographs. San Antonio is on my list of places to go next year. Can't wait!
Wow! None of my teachers ever looked like that! 🙂 Do you actually change colours for the seasons? I never knew that! You are my style guru!
Beautiful outfit for the first day of school! I love gray with pops of color. Very pretty!
We too are still in the midst of summer 100+ here in the basin of Southern California. I fell in love with San Antonio during a business trip several years ago. We stayed on the Riverwalk at the Omni La Mansion Del Rio. It was beyond fabulous. I loved the entire vibe of the Riverwalk, especially the delicious southwest cousine. I even had the opportunity to visit the Alamo.
Your pops of color look perfect for your first day of school. It represents optimism.
Congratulations on 15 years of teaching. I love the shoes and necklace and their wonderful pops of color.
Congrats! Looking lovely! And I'm envious of the weather. It has been very, very chilly in Toronto.
What a cute asymmetrical jacket
Congrats on year #15
Hope it is a great one
