Jenny Craig: Making Meal Time Special

So happy to see the weekend before us even though I will be dieting…but I have been empowered with new vision!  I have said often JENNY CRAIG’S FOOD PLAN fits my life right now…very busy.  Being told what to eat and given the food, is perfect when I am rushing from job to job and responsibility to responsibility.
However, during the last two weeks…I kind of hit a wall of food fatigue.  I have been on the plan since June 13 and repeated several menus.  When I confessed to struggling with food during a visit with my JENNY CRAIG CONSULTANT, she asked two questions:

1. Are you taking time to eat by putting the food on a plate and sitting down? (I’m picturing my zap and run life) Nope not doing this.
2. Are you taking time to add extra veggies and approved seasoning to mix things up a bit? (I stir it in the plastic container, does that count?)Nope not this either.

She smiled and suggested that I begin to make these meals special again, like I did in the beginning.  And, you know, she is exactly right.  I have not taken time to be creative lately.

This week will be different… my CHICKEN SALAD will see a few olives and red peppers…my CHEDDAR CHEESE OMELET will see some green chiles…my BREAKFAST SCRAMBLE will see some peppers and mushrooms.  My morning snack will see some Greek Yogurt.  And my dinnertime, will be seated with a plate and some veggies on the side.  I am the one who needs to be spicing things up a bit…because I have more to lose!  Also, we selected a special menu this week fashioned by me!  I am looking forward to seeing how this does on the scales next week!  I just need to slow down and smell the food (and coffee)…it smells great!

I also want to give kudos to Jenny Craig for joining in with top retailers like WHITE HOUSE BLACK MARKET and CHICOS to raise awareness about breast cancer.

Have a very happy Friday, all!
*I was provided a free trial program, and free Jenny’s Cuisine® items. Currently, I purchase their food at a special rate.   However, the opinions and writing are entirely my own.
Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs per week

  1. Hi Pam, An important post. At some point, you will move from JC and its important to plan and shop ahead. You may want to take some time now to create some monthly (3) meal plans for yourself that you can then rotate through. Even test some healthy snack recipes – you have a good testing audience in school. Take the word dieting out of your vocabulary – that signals deprivation. You are working towards health.! Keep up the good work!

  2. I like her advice Pam…food is important and it should be a pleasure…and actually sitting down and making time for it puts a whole different spin on it…you should be so proud…you're doing so well…Happy Weekend xx

  3. Congrats for sticking with this healthy eating plan since June Pam. You are truly making it a lifestyle. Your ideas for adding a little kick to your staple selections sound like a yummy way to mix it up. I finished South Beach phase one (two weeks) recently. I lost 10 lbs. and felt great energy the whole time. I'm still watching the sugar and carbs and considering doing another round of phase 1 in the near future. It feels good to find what 'clicks' for the scale doesn't it? Enjoy your weekend lovely Pam! xx
