Since I began this blog in 2010, I have shared San Antonio at Christmas with you every year…we always find a reason to go downtown.  This year it was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary…and there are no disappointments here!

The evening included a stay overnight in the WYNDHAM SAN ANTONIO RIVERWALK (I highly recommend), a fabulous dinner, a show at the Aztec Theater and a wonderful breakfast the next morning…can you tell I ditched the diet for one weekend!

For today’s post, let’s just talk about the amazing dinner experience we had at BOHANANS…the epitome of Southern and old world elegance.

We actually sat in authentic Chippendale chairs from the 1800s while waiting for the staff to prepare our cozy, romantic leather booth.

My husband had tipped them off about our celebration, so the table was covered with red rose petals, and they immediately served champagne.

Usually, I take pictures of food…but I was so excited about this meal…I did not even think to pull out the camera…just dove right in.
After a fabulous wine, fine steak covered in a burgundy mushroom sauce which actually melts in your mouth; garlic mashed potatoes; sauteed spinach, delectable asparagus; with bread and candied jalepeno -cheese spread, there was no more room…right?

Wrong!  My husband had never tasted BANANAS FOSTER and this is one of their specialties……prepared by Josh, our talented server for the evening.

After such a meal, you can see that we needed the walk along the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk….

Unfortunately, the weather was a little warm and balmy.  Not really a Christmasy-cold…so we wore….

My outfit:
Betsy Johnson Clutch (a Goodwill find!)
