One Small Step of Courage

I promised to report back when I take steps of courage this year… since that is my word for 2015.
This is a tiny one; yet, a big one for me.  I have never been a dark lip color lady; however, every time a get my makeup done for a special event the makeup artist puts darker colors on me.  So, I decided to take the plunge and start wearing a darker color every day to see what I think about it.
The reviews have been great!  Co-workers and friends seem to think I changed my whole makeup routine when the only thing changed is the lip and they like it!

I started with this BOBBI BROWN LIPSTICK in the color blackberry.  If you purchase at Macy’s right now, it comes with a free gift.

Small steps of courage will lead to bigger ones!  Has anyone else changed up your makeup for a new year.  Visibility is confidence building…take the plunge! Oh yes, I will see you later today when I join the fashionable group from Patti’s Visible Monday!

Have a beautiful Sunday!

  1. The colour suits you so well, Pam!
I am the same and usually only wear light lipstick but whenever a professional makeup artist applies my makeup, they use a darker colour!!! Funny isn't it?
I tend to be more "adventurous" in summer when I have a light sun tan as I feel the contrast isn't that harsh.

    Have a lovely Sunday,

  2. I wore a sheer red the last time I went out. I have to say that I felt rather grown up. 😉
This color looks great on you. I'm putting the colors in my Sephora memo page on my phone.
    It gets longer and longer.

  3. Love it Pam, I have gone with a darker lip as well. Whether a deep berry, so sumptuous or a bright red, so empowering and uplifting, it has definitely made a difference in my look!

  4. I love the darker lipstick on you. With your skin tone and hair color I would suggest staying away from the rosy shades of red and more on the russet side but not orange. Love it!

  5. I like that color on you! I just wrote a post about wearing more make up. I had a friend's daughter give me a makeover and I posted pictures on my blog. Still not sure what I think about it!

  6. You GO, Pam!!! Looks great on you!!!

For many years I was afraid to wear dark lip color because I am so fair skinned, but I took the plunge about 8 years ago and I must say, I am hooked!

  7. I'm a firm believer in color on our lips as we get *ahem, older. Otherwise our, as our lips start to lose their natural color, we look dead! This is a lovely shade on you! I'll be checking it out soon 🙂
