Marie Hell: A Different Look at Clothing…Plus the Thursday Blog Hop!

It is so true to say as we age, our point of view often changes.  We look at life a bit differently.
This is what happened with MARIE HELL founder, Eileen Mandel.

Five years ago, when Eileen was in her mid-50s she became frustrated at her closet and lack of flattering fit clothing or clothing which met her needs for a midlife lifestyle.  She started by knitting one sweater and it has escalated into a full collection named after her grandmother, Marie Hell.  “I use to go shopping with my grandmother when I was younger,” she said. “We got through difficult times together.”

“I did not want shapeless clothing, but I didn’t want form fitting either,” Eileen said.  What she wanted was a perfect collection of beautiful basics that could easily go from casual to a black tie evening.  Made from specially woven jersey knit and heavy Ponte knit, she wanted styles which just flowed.  The heavy knit is such high quality, customers can wear black bras under the white and no one knows.
She loves to travel, design clothing, and has been a yoga instructor for over 12 years.  She wanted easy clothing which packed well and could become different every day with creative accessories.  In the beginning, the line was made in China, but now is completely made in the United States, milled by a third generation milliner.
“This is more of a mission than a profit maker,” she said. “I sell them only online and these minimal garments can fulfill every need for a fabulous wardrobe.”

She picked up her I MATTER sign in an order to meet a personal need, but now is on a mission to empower women to celebrate who they are, and find joy in their lives every day….a lot like me!
I am modeling the sexy PEEK TUNIC…with the little slits at the shoulders and this is a garment which easily works in my wardrobe.  Check out the other pieces IN THE COLLECTION HERE.

And thanks to Eileen for joining us to encourage women to say I MATTER.

  1. I've never heard of this linen nd it sounds right up my alley! I adore pointe knits for comf and travel. I'll be hopping over to check them out. Thanks for the heads up Pam!

  2. Heading over to check out Eileen's clothing. I'm always looking for items that drape just right, and aren't to baggy or too tight. You look radiant in that top!

  3. Happy Thursday! I am so glad to party with you again! So many inspiring recipes and ideas to explore. And new friends to meet. Thanks for hosting. All the best, Deborah

  4. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful tunic. I thought it was a dress when I clicked through. (Tip: if you link to another site, you should tick the box "open link in a new window/tab". This will keep your readers on your blog when they click through on a link.)
And the necklace is to die for too. I am drooling over it.
