Christi Lang: An I MATTER Woman…Plus the Thursday Blog Hop!

I usually try to guess a woman’s age before I ask it during an interview.  When I met handbag designer and San Antonio resident, Christi Lang, I thought she might be mid-to-late 40s.  You can imagine (looking at her) my shock when she said, I’m 60! Now here is a woman living the dream.

Christi is a wife, mom, former elementary teacher, and former sales professional.  But, she always dreamed of being a successful entrepreneur.

Her love of beautiful leather handbags and her frustration with digging through handbags would result in the most functional, gorgeous bags on the market today.

“I love to be organized,” she said. “And I was organized everywhere but my purse.”  So she took this need, and designed a bag which cleanly and easily holds all of our basics in a beautiful Italian leather purse.  “I have been told, and agree, my bags give women peace.  They can find everything they need with little effort.  It is clean and even provides safety,” she said.

The purses zip to protect belongings and keys attach to magnets, she specially ordered from Germany, so your keys would hold firmly on the side. When you need them, they are quickly in your hands. She places great care into selecting the leather and the materials herself.

Her favorite story?  “I was going through security to hear Jill Biden speak at a women’s conference in San Antonio,” she said with a smile. “The security guard stopped and said,’Woa, this is the most organized purse I have ever seen!'”

What lies ahead for this dynamic sixty-year-old is a collaboration with a handbag designer in South Africa to benefit the women of the country and help provide for their families.

Her bags are best purchased online at CHRISTI LANG HANDBAGS, and in a few exclusive boutiques.  But look for these beauties to be seen in other places soon!

Christi counsels the rest of us to remember I MATTER, and do not be afraid to take a risk.  She did not want to look back at a dream she never tried to live…she wanted to know she gave it everything…and she is having the time of her life!
