Celebrating Color and Spring!

Happy Monday!  I guess this outfit says… whether snow is falling or winds are blowing, bring on spring!  BRYN WALKER is a brand I discovered first at DILLARDS and every now and then they produce a garment, I simply must have!  THIS TUNIC is creative fashion for women over 50!

After reading some of the comments on Saturday’s Would You Wear It, there are readers who may not like this outfit either.  But I really do.  Just for the record, I would not wear the one from Saturday. I agreed with most of the comments, but this one is different. That particular WOULD YOU WEAR IT outfit really brought on strong emotions on the blog and Facebook.  The strongest so far of all the WYWI posts.
But, the draping, the pocket, the color, the unique design on this garment works for my body type.
I wore it to a luncheon last week and owned that room with my confidence!  That is what a statement piece should do…give you enough confidence to own every room you enter… with a smile.

I styled it with some old faithfuls in my closet…EILEEN FISHER WHITE ANKLE PANTSSTEVE MADDEN FLATS…and three gold necklaces layered together (two from CHARMING CHARLIE, and one from THE LIMITED).

It is a fun look and one I know will get me far this spring and summer! But, a good example of how every garment by a designer will not always work for us.  You must try it on…or see it on the mannequin as we saw on Saturday.

Has anyone made a new purchase for spring you are really excited about?

Tell us what you got?

Remember, Tuesday, JENNIFER CONNOLLY, SUSAN STREET and I return to Blab to discuss fashion for women over 50.  Hope you will join us!  The link is in my sidebar with the Blab box in blue.

  1. Great, vibrant color that looks amazing on you (I think it's a color that would look great on many)! The outfit clearly makes you feel wonderful & it shows!

  2. As always I read this I see you and I want to bring you shopping with me. I was saying to someone this weekend how I think I am Eileen Fisher—BUT I've never tried her on.

  3. Ah, but this is a million times better than the Saturday tunic – this one has some shape and the fabric falls in a flattering way. The colour is beautiful and the pants underneath complement the top rather than fighting against it! I can see how you 'owned the room' in this stunning outfit.

  4. I bought a grey and white tunic/dress top at SteinMart recently that I really am enjoying! It is so soft and comfy and great to pair with leggings. I love your top in this post! The color is beautiful on you and I can see why you "own the room" when wearing it! I am new to your blog and really enjoying it. Thank you!

  5. Love, love, love your tunic. It looks fabulous on you all the way around — color, fit, draping!! The three necklaces you've layered look stunning. I will have to try that out. Thanks for the inspiration as always!!

  6. I like the color on you a lot–it really is eye-catching! I am not sure if it is just too much fabric for my body type and maybe too long. But I've been starting at the image for a long time, it's that arresting!

  7. And thank you Beth! I love to layer necklaces…I just have to check myself and not get carried away! Learning the balance has been a journey for me.

  8. Thanks Carol. If I was jut even a little shorter, I do not think this would work. It really needs height to pull it off. Hopefully, I am getting my osteoporosis in check and will not shrink more. I have lost a half an inch. Thanks for commenting.

  9. Pam this looks great on you, I'm getting a Talitha Getty vibe. Can we use this photo for "How I Wear My: Boho"? Let me know, I want to include it. You look fabulous! xx

  10. Please don't think for a minute that this fabulous tunic even comes close to the WYWI outfit referenced. You look so classy and the color is WOW! I would definitely wear this.

  11. I would never wear this tunic, but you look fantastic in it. The color looks great on you as well. For me, I need a more tailored look and this shape would be so totally unflattering. I love that you keep giving a host of options to select from, as this is something I would never choose. But – therein lies the fun!

  12. You look fabulous in that outfit! Love the colour – love the flow of the tunic – and love the necklaces. Great choice.

  13. That is what is so wonderful about fashion, Ligeia. Occasionally we can stray from our comfort zone to have a little fun. I am really a very classic dresser, but this just stirred me up and I believe sends the messages I want to send.

  14. Pam, I agree: You just look fabulous in this! Everything about the outfit works on you. And you look so very confident and happy! Lovely!

  15. Now I DO like THIS outfit and WOULD wear this one (unlike the one on Saturdsy). I love Bryn Walker's creations. I think you look very pretty in this outfit!

  16. I love it, I adore it, I want one… Pam, this one is splendid. Looks so good on you. I can understand you owned the room. Very well styled with those necklaces and metal flats. I'll give this outfit an A+.
