Hit Your Style Sweet Spot: Ladies Night Out In Fashion Over 50

Welcome to a fun collaboration with Jennifer of A Well Styled Life and Pam of over50feeling40.  We desire for all of us… the fabulous women over 50 …to look and feel our best each and every day.  After years of blogging for this audience, we have heard from so many of you about your discouragement and despondency when you look in the mirror every morning.  But, we both know just how transformative style can be, and hope to encourage you right here each week.  We want to see all of us empowered with strength, joy, and confidence!

My recent ladies night out was a casual event in my neighborhood.  Once a month all of the ladies in the neighborhood gather at a different home for a WOMEN & WINE evening. It is a wonderful event with women of all ages gathering…moms even get a sitter for the evening if needed!  I learned a lot at the one last week…even heard a great recipe I have already cooked more than once!

We all stepped out in our casual best and everyone looked lovely, but I think the most competitive pressure is with the pot luck hors d’oeuvres! The unique, delicious recipes are amazing…I was put to shame with my cheese, cracker and grapes…some even brought copies of recipes for everyone!  You are to show up with your hors d’oeuvres, wine, and wine glass at the door ready for fun with girls.

I selected this beautiful, LINEN-BLEND TEXTURED KNIT PONCHO BY JJILL which works well for the cooler evenings.  I also wore it to work last week with a WEAREVER SMOOTH KNIT PRINT PENCIL SKIRT.  For an event outside of the neighborhood homes, I probably would have worn the same poncho with a longer length on the pants.  It looks really good with these ESSENTIAL COTTON STRETCH PANTS.

These ponchos are perfect for the cooler evenings as we move into spring and summer.

I popped it with this necklace my husband brought home to me from his trip to Alaska last year.  Also, my Via Spiga flats were from a trip two years ago to Chicago…I found them on a sale rack at BLOOMINGDALE’S.  Beautiful…great price.

This is comfortable, casual, and confident for me when staying in the neighborhood for a ladies’ night out!  Now, let’s go see what JENNIFER OF A WELL STYLED LIFE is wearing…and she has a great giveaway this week!

IMPORTANT NEWS

If you are a regular reader, you know how much I love LAGUNA NATURALS VITAMIN C SERUM.  I use it every day on my face and neck.  In honor of Spring, they are bringing back their most popular special offer for this entire week (until midnight next Sunday).  Just click on the image below or HERE and go to their Amazon page.  Put two bottles in your shopping cart, then use the code feelin40 at checkout and the cost of one bottle will be removed! It is a 2 for 1 special, but you must put both in the cart…then use the code.  I think you will love as much as I do…it’s affordable and works!

Have a wonderful beginning to your week!

Disclaimer:  I was sent the poncho from JJill, and received compensation from Laguna Naturals Vitamin C serum, but the words for both are my own.

  1. I am such a fan of ponchos and yours is a great color. What a great thing to do with the ladies in your neighborhood! Sounds like fun!

  2. Hi Pam! I love this series and look forward to it each week! You look fabulous:). I would enjoy seeing how you and Jennifer dress when you go clothes shopping. I made the mistake of wearing a white pullover today, so getting it on and off without getting make-up on it was a bit of a hassle. Do you wear button up shirts? I don't enjoy clothes shopping at all, so any tips for the whole shopping process would be helpful. I'd just love to see how you and Jennifer go about it. Could be a fun discussion for your BLAB with Susan as well. Thanks for all you do to keep us inspired–you're amazing:)!

  3. Hi Natalie, Thank you so much for your encouragement and for your suggestion. I already talked with Jennifer and we will do this! Keep you eye on it and we might even discuss it on Blab. We love to know what you want to see us tackle!
