  1. Love them and would wear every one of them. If I had to choose only one, it would be the print on the right in the back row. Runner up is the black and white. Been wearing the wrap since the '70's and it is still one of the best survivors of that decade!! (Along with Billy Joel)

  2. A DVF wrap dress is actually on my wishlist! I have been checking Nordstrom Rack but the "perfect" one, at a price I'm willing to pay, hasn't come through yet… Also, I'm a bit worried since most are dry clean only…

I think a wrap dress is great because it is so flattering! Plus, you can dress it up or down, depending on the shoes, accessories, and jacket you wear with it. I really like the black and white one! Would be a great addition to my wardrobe… 🙂

  3. Love, love, love all of them! If I had to choose only one it would be the print on the right in the back row. 2nd choice would be the black and white print. Loved the wrap dress since it first appeared in the '70's. The wrap dress and Billy Joel….best survivors of the '70's!

  4. Yes, yes and again I say yes! I am busty, and I have several wrap dresses and tops. I feel good when I wear mine, and I get compliments. It is a classic look and looks professional.

  5. No, unfortunately my chest does not fit in any of her wrap dresses. I have a few DVF dresses that are not wrap, however!!

  6. While I have always loved DVF wrap dresses and the style is generally forgiving I would not wear it now. I prefer my skirt length at the knee and I am very tall so these would not work for me and I Los don't she my decollatage that much either.

  7. I wouldn't wear this style of dress. My problem is that I worry about wardrobe malfunctions. My day would be spent checking and adjusting the dress. I don't have that much time in my day.

  8. Have never been able to get a wrap dress to work on me, even though they are supposed to be flattering on almost everyone. I always have to find a way to pin the top so that the neckline is not too low & stays together. But I think they are all lovely dresses.

  9. I would, and I do. A wrap dress is probably the most flattering fit, and it is always in style. A quality wrap dress in a neutral will be a wardrobe workhorse for years.

  10. Not only would I wear them, I recently got out my old sewing machine and am preparing to make one. My intent is to have a nice cool summery dress. It's in a floral print. I used to sew all my own clothes, even to the point where I made a coat! But life got so busy I had to give it up. Now that I'm retired I am excited about regaining my skills with this fun hobby.

  11. I actually wore one yesterday. Not actually a DVF, but one in this style that I made myself. Mine had a collar and a fuller skirt. I love all of these and would wear any of them.

  12. I love mine. They're knit but miraculously, they don't cling. They never wrinkle, and they are very easy to throw on and walk out the door. She's a genius at cut.

  13. This has been a style I have always admired but never tried on. As a short-waisted, full-figure gal, I don't know how it would fit but would definitely like to try one. All these shown are very pretty.

  14. No. This style does not suit my shape. Fit and flare is my dress style, and it's the only kind of dress I wear now.

I do, however, own a faux wrap top with side ruching. This has a higher neckline that is sewn in place, and three-quarter sleeves. I never wear anything stretchy on my bottom half.

  15. My favorite dress of all time. Classic and flattering to most shapes and sizes. I wish I still had the two I bought when they were a "new thing" in the mid 70's. I guess they'd be vintage now. I wore them to death but they held up well. One was that classic kind of snake print in shades of brown and the other was my Easter Dress in 1977….a beautiful mint green with peach colored flowers. They got too small for me but now I'm back to my 1970's size. I'd wear them if they were around. Then I bought two more in the late 90's and wore them to death but one was a solid colored silk and not so practical and the other, a red and white print got hair color on it during an appointment. Blah! Last year I bought one for myself for Christmas in fall/winter colors…love it even though it is now a bit too big on top. A small inside safety pins works well. LOL I'd wear any of the choices above but usually prefer the ones that don't go much above the knee.

  16. A forever classic to pull out for so many occasions!
Love the black/white and I have also seen one in a leopard print that is beautiful!

  17. As long as they come in Petite I would love to wear one. I am 5' tall but extremely short waisted so I have to be careful of fit.
Thank You Pam. I do so love your blog and learn from it all the time. Especially enjoying the Blab sessions with Jennifer, Susan and yourself.

  18. Yes, I would definitely wear them – so easy to throw on when you are in a hurry and need to look neat. Not so keen on the two on the right, but like the two blue ones on the left. Margaretha

  19. Absolutely! I've always enjoyed wearing a wrap dress. I think my favourite is the purple and black one on the left. The only one I can't actually see myself wearing is the black and white on the right, but I might try it on just to see what it looks like on me.

  20. Actually, I've never been a fan. I don't like anything low in the front, especially as I get older and almost always wear some kind of cotton scarf, or pashmina. Always. I'm known for my collection of scarves! So they don't really go with such a deep V and I'm also small boned and busted so they always fall open! I also think women our age have to be careful of knits across the tummy. I guess Spanx takes care of that, sort of, but I'm always hesitant of any knit.

  21. DVF is has been a classic for MANY years – and for a good reason. This style is flattering on almost every figure. When they first came out, we all wore full slips – remember? Lovely, lacy lingerie. If an edge showed here or there, it was fine. And dresses flowed smoothly over them. Those were the days.

  22. Hi, Mary! I feel the same. My solution is to add a spaghetti strap tank in a coordinating color under the dress. Works like a charm! Hope this is helpful!

  23. YES!!!! love the wrap dresses. I have a white/black one and a blue one and I can dress it up or down. This style goes with all different body types and it is a classic!!!! When not sure what to wear to a ..the wrap dress it what I go to!!

  24. Yes I would. I like the patterned one in the back. I have several dresses like this but short sleeved from Athleta.

  25. The wrap dress is supposed to be my ideal dress for a hour glass figure, but I always felt it was not for me. The wrap never stayed in place and it would be uncomfortable and the materials were not the best, even DVF.

  26. I look terrible in DVF wrap dresses, I just do not have the right shape to pull one off. I like DVF's clothes but not this particular piece, though I enjoy seeing it on other ladies. x

  27. Agreed. I think they work better for figures where your chest and your hips are traditionally proportioned. I'm small-chested and about a size bigger in the bottom so to get it to fit through the hip the top is loose and needs a cami underneath plus pinning to stay on. I am onboard with the knit/never wrinkles dress for easy outfits, just not this style.
