Hit Your Style Sweet Spot: Why Investment Shoes for Women Over 50

Welcome to a fun collaboration with Jennifer of A Well Styled Life and Pam of over50feeling40.  We desire for all of us… the fabulous women over 50 …to look and feel our best each and every day.  After years of blogging for this audience, we have heard from so many of you about your discouragement and despondency when you look in the mirror every morning.  But, we both know just how transformative style can be, and hope to encourage you right here each week.  We want to see all of us empowered with strength, joy, and confidence

Last week, Jennifer and I began a conversation about investment dressing
for women over 50 and this is a continuation.   When I went to the Spring Trend fashion show this past
week, the mules really stood out to me.
There were amazing Gucci designs, but that is an investment I am just
not in a position to make.
I do believe quality shoes are important.  When my feet are happy, I am happy….so I am
open to investing $100- $200 in good shoes…but I can only think of one time in
my life I went beyond that.  Do I regret
it now?  I really do…but they were
gorgeous stilettos and I was in my early thirties and looking to make a
statement. However, I do believe the mules are a statement I can currently get into and keep in my wardrobe.  They do fit my lifestyle now.
After the fashion show, I immediately went online looking
for modern mules with prices I can live with…and I found them in brands I trust.
For me to invest in a pair of shoes, I am seeking a good fit, comfort, structure, design, and looking to see if they go with more than one outfit.  My husband liked this pair of Shelby Snakeskin Mules from Nordstrom, but I could not locate them to give a link…they may have sold out..they are very cool! So I have a similar mule for your consideration below.
I live in a very warm climate and I like the fact that a mule looks a bit more professional than a sandal, but still allows those cool breezes in on the feet.  Also, I like to send messages of creativity with my style and what better way is there than for my feet to do the talking!
Now, these Sam Edelman floral Mules are linked with the selections below and I LOVE THEM so much!
There are so many looks I can create with both of these pair of shoes. Though I would love to own a pair of Gucci’s, these give me the style I was looking for; a little update with a trend; and comfort in brands I trust which I know will withstand time. It is worth it to me to make an investment in my shoes.  What about you?
(Note:I have the jackets on my shoulders for a reason…will explain later in the week.)
Now, let’s go see what JENNIFER OF A WELL STYLED LIFE is discussing today!

  1. I love your floral mules! They scream creativity and are such a fun touch. If my feet aren't happy, I am miserable.I love your shopping selections…popping over for a peek!

  2. I am not able to keep mules on my feet, walk right out of them! I guess fortunately for me, we must wear closed shoes at work (not even peep toes), so when I invest in shoes they are typically pumps. I'm more casual on weekends and wear flats and boots. Your mules are pretty.

  3. I have walked out of many and experienced the same problem in the past. I was excited to discover the ways these are designed, they hug the foot more like a shoe and prevent that problem. I am impressed…my work is more creative, so I can get away with this unless I am attending a professional event…so I completely understand the need for pumps. These will make my business causal fun! Thanks Karen!
