Hit Your Style Sweet Spot: Fashionable, not Frumpy, Flats for Women Over 50

Welcome to a fun collaboration with Jennifer of A Well Styled Life and Pam of over50feeling40.  We desire for all of us… the fabulous women over 50 …to look and feel our best each and every day.  After years of blogging for this audience, we have heard from so many of you about your discouragement and despondency when you look in the mirror every morning.  But, we both know just how transformative style can be, and hope to encourage you right here each week.  We want to see all of us empowered with strength, joy, and confidence

This week we are discussing one of my favorite topics…fun flats (not frumpy) for women over 50.  I decided a long time ago rather than allow aging to depress me, I would embrace it.  I am not going to let the fact that beautiful stilettos are in my past get me down.  My funky feet need fun flats and there are so many on the market…why be sad?

I have written often that my favorite comfort line of shoes is the ROCKPORT TOTAL MOTION  collection and it just gets better and better.  I think I own around eight stylish, trendy flats from Rockport and the color is amazing.

I love ballet flats, but I wear a pointed toe flat most often for professional or going out attire.  And this TOTAL MOTION ADELYN GHILLIE is so comfortable and cool…it also comes in a beautiful khaki-color.

The styles, designs, and colors have come a long way baby from the nursing-type shoes our mothers wore!

I do not believe I should wear heels just to style blog outfits for you…it would definitely be hypocritical. While I think heels are still the most fashion forward way to go, I just can no longer do it, so I must wear flats ALL the time.

But, with fun flats like the ROCKPORT LINE and selections below, which are currently on the market, there is no reason to feel frumpy in flats any longer.  Check out this shoe HERE.

And check out our Pinterest Boards, HERE and HERE for more ideas….then go see what JENNIFER OF A WELL STYLED LIFE has to say about wearing flats over 50!

  1. I love the flats you are wearing, and that jacket is something I've been looking for. While I probably should be wearing flats, I mostly don't. But the ones I do have I'm very fond of, and the ones that look best on me are those with pointy toes. My feet feel less stubby and I feel more elegant. Would you mind saying where you got the jacket?

  2. I just bought this jacket last week at Dillards. It is a Tahari jacket and i cannot find it online or I would link it. If I locate a link…I will make sure to post it….I love this jacket! Thanks Karen!

  3. LOOOOOVE. These!! I was never heals. For years I was wedges 🙂 but when I couldn't do those any longer somehow I got it into my head my only option was ballet slipper type shoes. I even invested in a pair of TIeks. And I'm fairly certain I'm the only one on earth who didn't fall immediately in love with them…

  4. Love the flats…and I too have given up on heels…maybe a wedge sandal every now and then, but I already did enough damage to me feet wearing the 4 inch heels most of my adult life…so now I am in to comfort…style as well but comfort. And I wear pointy flats for dressy outfits too!

  5. I have just found your blog, what a pure treat, haven't quite hit the big 50 yet, but it looms on the ever nearer horizon! However, having spent the past half an hour browsing posts I love the humour and way this is written and we share many of the same sentiments about life, as I said, so happy to have found you.
