Purple Poppy: An Online Boutique for Women 50+

I have introduced you to Purple Poppy before…a cute boutique by the shores of Cape Cod which carries clothing perfect for women over 50. But, what is so great about online shopping is we can go there right now and appreciate the clothing selected just for us by the wonderful owner and buyers. Boutiques usually bring customers unique pieces not found in most department stores.  Here are a couple of styles I have showed you before:

You have just seen how I take my faux leather leggings, snake print leggings, and knit leggings and mix up different looks with beautiful pieces from this specialty boutique.  As I have written before, I often wear columns underneath and most often black.  That is why I fell for the Puple Poppy Last Tango Jacket above.  It is perfect to go over a column and wear year round.  It’s a great textile which can easily go to work, on a date, or to an event….or out for a tango!

Spend some time on her website and see if you find the fun look you have desired.  Here are a couple of garment links for you:

  1. I must have missed the post with the fur-trimmed cape. That is gorgeous! And I love the black one just as much, and the one you show today! I’ll have to check out their website. I have to say Pam, I have wanted faux leather leggings for a few years now and have yet to get them. I am encouraged to see you wearing them. I have seen some that are “leather” on the front and fabric on the back, and then just faux leather. I’ve been afraid to get them because I was afraid I’d be seen as trying to be too young when I’m not. That sounds “off” to me saying that, to think that I’m still caring what anyone would think. I don’t want to be that way. I try very hard to at least consider my age when I’m shopping, but this isn’t like veering into mini skirts and crop tops, right? When I see you in them I think, I can do this too!

  2. Love the outfits, you suit each one. Searched my closet and found an old brown wrap trimmed with “mink” pompoms, in perfect condition. I probably only wore it a few times. A great addition to my Fall/Winter wardrobe. Thanks again, Pam, for all your Blogs.

  3. All so elegant but I would love to know where the lovely jewellery comes from. Especially that beautiful silver bracelet! I am a uk reader and really enjoy your blog and the diverse subjects you cover in addition to fashion. Many congratulations!

  4. I adore that faux trimmed cape, Pam! Purple Poppy has some very unique pieces and I love that I can wear pieces not everyone in my town has! You look amazing in this jacket.

  5. That is so true and I always get asked where I got these tops. Thanks Jennifer…I know you are a Purple Poppy fan.

  6. I wore mine to the office today, Karen and the younger ladies went nuts over them. They thought they looked great and very appropriate. I went to a ribbon cutting in them feeling amazing and received a compliment about my outfit there from a very chic woman. So I say, go for it!

  7. Thank you Annie. My jewelry comes from so many places from thrift stores to top of the line stores. I love accessories! When appropriate, I try to tell you where it came from! Thanks for being here.

  8. I was just on the Purple Poppy web site for the first time. I like many of their items but see fabric composition mentioned very occasionally or when an item is cashmere. For me, the fabric really matters (it’s too warm where I live for much wool, for example). If you could give them a gentle nudge about this matter, they might makes some sales from Stockton CA!

Thank you for your blog. I love it.

  9. I forwarded your comment to the owner, Katie. I think it is important for her to see your comment…thanks so much.
