Fashion Over 50: Options for Velvet

I love velvet and always happy to see it on trend;however, it can get warm in our southern climate.  That is why the styles featuring burn-out velvet designs really appeal to me.  They have the beauty of velvet, but are not as warm. This is a Chicos kimono from last year…in fact, I wore it on the Chico’s website when I was featured on their blog.  But it is a perfect piece to take a casual style up a notch.  I have seen several similar ones this year. I will probably wear this for sitting on the floor and reading Christmas stories to my grandchildren this weekend.

We are down to 5 Days Before Christmas and my list continues on….

5.  I love Christmastime because all adults have permission to be childlike…

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. I love the kimono!! That is just so beautiful! I like velvet too and have been considering adding a velvet t-shirt that I think I’d get a lot of wear from. Trends can be scary though, as next winter this could be a distant memory. But your kimono, not the case there. That seems more of a classic piece that you can wear for years. It’s the perfect finishing touch to an outfit! Merry Christmas Pam!

  2. Pam, that kimono is beautiful. You look great! I haven’t worn anything velvet in so long and I forgot how wonderful it is. I think a shopping trip is in my future!

Merry Christmas and wishing you a wonderful year ahead!
