Fashion Over 50: It’s Your Turn: What Do You Want to Say?

Hi everyone, great discussion yesterday on Would You Wear It!  I love how some of you are enjoying the feature so much.  Today, I would like for you to keep participating.  Below is a list of adjectives.  I would like for you to look them over, and tell us the top three adjectives you would like your wardrobe to say about you.  Really think about it…and only select three..unless you feel strongly that you need to share more.  But, what would your like your wardrobe to say to others about you when you step out into the world each day. This also helps me to know more about you, the readers of this blog. I love wearing black, white and camel for a strong, confident, classic look.  There are so many great sales right now, so I found similar pieces below…the black coats come in camel, but for some reason would not allow me to post that color!  Go figure.

I can’t wait to hear what adjectives you want your style to say about you.   Please share!

KEEP SMILING!

  1. Really like creative, unique and relevant. Have recently retired and am reinventing my new chapter of life. Thanks for the exercise!

  2. Thanks for doing this — I am working on focusing my style:
    Approachable, Creative, Stylish

  3. Approachable. Relaxed. Stylish.

BTW-can you tell me where you purchased the wonderful leopard scarf in your photo? Thanks!

  4. Cool, Unique, Bohemian/Artisan(my addition). This is rather a mixed bag but too many adjectives to choose from!

  5. Classic, confident, stylish. Classic because I like the polish, elegance and simplicity of the classics, and feel they are a good value. Confident because my clothes are my first statement to the world, and sometimes you need to fake it to make it :). Stylish because that encompasses many ideas into one: current, creative, unique, and a couple I didn’t see on there: Aware and Engaged.

  6. What a great look, Pam! Love the mix of colors!

What a fun exercise. My three adjectives are relaxed, classy and stylish. I selected those three because I want to be comfortable but do so with style. And, I always want to be age-appropriate which to me is what classy is all about!

  7. Cool, happy and vibrant. I like to keep up with styles but also dress in clothes that are comfortable but not frumpy.

  8. Confident, relevant and cool! It was not easy to pick only three! I had to really search my soul! Thanks! That was not easy, but definitely eye opening for me!

  9. Hi Bernie, thanks for commenting. I actually bought this scarf a few years ago on Amazon for $15…I won an Amazon card on another blog and decided to buy something for myself. I love this scarf and it looks as good as the day it arrived. I have not purchased another accessory on Amazon since then, but I would recommend it based on this experience. Thanks for asking.

  10. I hope it helps in the future, Areli. Thanks for taking it seriously and really thinking about it.

  11. Confident, Responsible, and Feminine are my top three. This is going to. E a fun exercise! Thanks!

  12. Ok,you have asked “what would you like your wardrobe to say to others about you when you step out into the world each day”.
    Here are my answers-
    classy,
    stylish
    and most importantly feminine.
Loved this exercise as it really made me think and I even asked my husband his thoughts.

  13. I chose classy, intelligent and approachable. But, in thinking about my clothing, I realized that I have a few rather “stand-out” items in my wardrobe, and I think they are there because I want to be VISIBLE. You know how sometimes, as we age, we might feel like we’re becoming invisible? I think that some of my clothes that might not say “classy, intelligent, and approachable” might be saying SEE ME. Hm. Interesting for me to think about. Is this really what I want to say? Very useful exercise, Pamela!

  14. Without overthinking it, confident, fun, and happy. Looks like no matter our style, if we like it then we want confidence to shine through.

  15. Hi Pam! LOVE that jacket & scarf combo – looks fabulous on you!
    My 3 words…..Confident.Classy.Stylish.

  16. I like confident, classy and stylish. I would also add remembrance, when I am out i notice what other women are wearing, I try to remember this ” eye catching outfit so that I can find something similar to put together for myself.
