  1. The first picture with the little bird is gorgeous, and yes, it does give me hope that in spite of the snow we got last night, spring will indeed come one day! Such an adorable little bird! The article I enjoyed most here was the one about Barbie! It brought back memories of going to get my first Barbie doll, right when they first came out. Mine had the ‘bubble’ hairstyle, the black and white strapless swim suit, those sky high heeled pumps and I was over the moon! My sister and I sewed clothes for them and it was a special treat to get actual store-bought outfits at Christmas time. I still remember the thrill of going into the store and choosing my Barbie. Even as they evolved over the years, to me nothing beat the originals! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

  2. You are so welcome, Karen. I had quite a Barbie collection and so wish I still had it. I think my granddaughter would have loved the originals. Have a great weekend.

  3. That Barbie looks anorexic! I didn’t agree with a few of those makeup tips. Sorry to see Toys R Us close. Huge online retailers will kill many more brick and mortar stores.

  4. I love the Halsbrook website – very classy!I don’t agree with some of the comments about particular brands of clothes in the article.I did like the website for ideas on how to put outfits together.
I’m not sure about some of the make-up tips in the other article but it did confirm some things I already do.
I’m quite sad about the demise of Toys ‘R’ Us as I loved visiting there.I hope we don’t lose too many more shopping experiences.Online shopping is not the same as the real thing.
Thanks for another interesting read.Enjoy your weekend.

  5. Thanks Julie…I also hope we always have stores…it is an experience I would hat to see disappear completely.

  6. I did not agree with all of the makeup tips either, Jennifer. Since Barbie looked like this, she has been redesigned to offer a verison with curves!
