Beauty and Health Products for Women Over 50

Welcome to Beauty and Health Products for Women Over 50!  This is when I tell you about products I have tried and want you to know about.  I have written about using tumeric before to lower inflammation.  I previously told you about a Tumeric Tea I like, but some days I am not able to drink the tea.  So, I began to use this supplement NativOganics Tumeric Curcumin  which is tumeric, black pepper extract, ginger extract, amia fruit, gogi berry, and a few other natural organic ingredients.  My joint pain has really ceased to exist sense I began to take tumeric.   There is definitely a difference between when I am and am not using tumeric.

I left soda behind a long time ago…though at one time in my life, I was a Dr. Pepper addict.  Now, I predominately drink water…lots of water.  But, occasionally, I like a different taste and I was recently introduced to this brand…Zevia.  I really like the Cream Soda flavor.  I think one every now and then is fine…all things in moderation, right?

I found these Tostada Shells at the market…multigrain, no trans fat, no sodium, and gluten free and thought they would be perfect for a checken fajita salad.  And they were!  The only link I could find online is HERE and you have to order a lot…so some of you may just want to look for this at your local market.

I took shredded lettuce, mixed with a fresh mango salsa, bell pepper, a little onion, chicken strips I baked in the oven with taco seasoning.  And topped with spicy guacamole.  Delish!  I use ALOT of the Bolner Fiesta Seasonings…the fajita, the taco, the pinto bean seasoning, chili mix, and they are all good!  We use them almost every day.  Here is the CHICKEN FAJITA SEASONING.

Bake your chicken with this and a little olive oil.  So good!

Here is a four flavor seasoning group that is a great place to start. Just click HERE.

I hope this all helps and give you some inspiration!  Thanks for being here and, of course, ask questions and make comments…love to hear your thoughts…………..

KEEP SMILING!

  1. This is certainly interesting. I have been taking turmeric for a short time now because it was recommended to me for sciatica which is seeming to be kind of chronic. So far I haven’t noticed results, but natural supplements take time to get in your system so I’m being patient with very high hopes. I figure no matter what, it’s good for so many things I can’t miss with this! Like you, I have sworn off soda (about 20 years ago) but when I saw that can of cream soda, oh my! I love that flavor too, and I completely agree, all things in moderation! I usually have a root beer float at some point in the summer at the root beer stand, and so there you go! : ) Your tostada looks delicious!! I love southwest seasonings and all things spicy, so will have to make some of those very soon! My goodness that looks wonderful!!

  2. I’m a big fan of Tumeric and now take it fir headaches. This looks like a good one because of the amount of black pepper which is needed for the Tumeric to be effective.

  3. The Zevia brand was started by parents who wanted their children to drink something healthier – so it uses stevia as a sweetener instead of the usual culprints. Also it doesn’t use artificial coloring etc. I drink the cherry cola (Dr Pepper anyone?) and it takes a little getting used to as it is clear, but it is definitely better than the colas out there.

  4. Just a warning if you are taking a blood thinner (I am and have done research) do not take turmeric.

  5. Thanks for the shopping tips. I like Stevia, too. Btw, I also use cucurmin. If I miss a day, I wake up with poor circulation – a numb hand for example. So it’s a ‘must’ for me. I also take blood pressure pills and it’s not interfered with that at all. I suppose a single capsule is a tiny amount & does more good than harm, at least in my whole family & friends’ cases.

  6. I appreciate this, Bonnie. It is always good to know all sides and for all of us to do our research.

  7. I hope it helps, Karen. I know it helps with my joint pain and that motivates me to keep using it or drinking the tumeric tea.

  8. Thanks, Pamela for sharing your thoughts. I will suggest to you that also share some precautions as well. As I use turmeric some time ago and start getting some side effects. After consulting with the physician, I stopped it.

  9. Thanks to such good tips and blogs, I learned how to dress, look after myself, look good, no matter what age you are. At 40, life is only better and prettier👋👍😉
