Fashion Over 50: Fall Transitions and Eileen Fisher

Here is another look I will transition into fall  just after Labor Day, and it is Eileen Fisher.  I am adding two new Eileen Fisher colors to my EF wardrobe…the top is charcoal, the bottom is called Dark Jewel.  I have already worn the pants with lighter tops for summer style, but I do like it with the charcoal.  I got this top in July ….yes, during the July sales!!  (Note:  The crease is my fault.  I should’ve steamed it instead of modeling right out of the box.)

These darker colors say autumn to me….and I am a huge fan of this blue which is showing everywhere this coming season.  It is a great color.  These are the EF style of pant I wear often here and this is my sixth color to add to my pant collection.  They are great for work and just about anything else.  Because I wear them so much…my cost per wear is very low.  And the top will work it’s way into other workplace looks as well.

My accessories are all about SHELLS…and have been in my wardrobe a long time, but I have never worn the necklace and handbag together.  After seeing them together, I wondered what took me so long.  The shoes are Franco Sarto from Marshalls…and, yes, I have owned them for awhile.  I was encouraged that my husband liked this outfit when I put it together…means I can wear it on one of our little weekend dates.

We are planning a special autumn weekend away in October…but more about that later.  How, do you feel about the gray with the blue?  Would you have ventured there?  Please share…and I have some EF pieces in the slideshow today!  Thanks for stopping by…..

KEEP SMILING!!

  2. I like the outfit and I like the shell accessories! Thanks for these great emails!

  3. Blue and grey are classic and look great in this outfit. I also like the shell accessories… a great transition pieces from summer fall!

  4. The shell handbag is so fun! I really like the dark jewel color, I think I will see if she has anything else in that shade.

  5. I like both pieces. The jewelry is amazing – that necklace! Liking that dark jewel color a lot. Going to look for it. I also think it would look good with my go-to black as well.

  6. It has been worth hanging on to over the years. I think I originally paid around $9 on sale and I have worn it often! Thanks Lavenia

  7. I like all the pieces, especially the necklace, but the top and pants would not work for me together. I like more contrast. Perhaps it’s my computer but they look like two different shades of blue.

I really like that people are putting a picture on their post. It feels more personal as so many of us have been posting for a long time. I don’t know how to put my picture on my replies, however.
