Jackets & Jeans – Look No 2 (With An Edge)

This is outfit #2 for Jackets and Jeans week!  What I like about my jeans is that I can be whoever I want to be with my jacket…it can be very casual or very dressy and always works with jeans on the bottom.  Today, I have a touch of edge in my look…add a little faux leather and I can go to a concert or to a neighborhood holiday party…which is exactly where I wore this style over the weekend!  It was a casual, in-home get together and after being sick for a while, I wanted to feel strong and in charge…so I went for this jacket.  It is an INC jacket I found at Macy’s a couple of years ago and I really like it…but you already know I love wearing black.    I almost wrote that this is “bad __ __ __!  But, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it…not a phrase I say…so why write it? I also like this length a lot…not too short, not too long, but just right!  I am really impressed with the Inc Collection at Macys…especially for jackets.  I have placed some in the slideshow below.

It is so easy to change your style completely with the jacket and jewelry….though the same jeans are on the bottom. The necklace is new and from Soft Surroundings.  It has a velvet ribbon and I just love the knit, faux leather and velvet all together.  I have it in the slide show below.

What is your favorite cut of jean lately?  I have returned to bootcut more and more lately.  Please share…how many styles of jeans do you have…do you stick to one or love them all.

Thanks for being here

KEEP SMILING

  1. Pam, you DO look Bad A__ is that jacket!!! Really nice. And I have a new necklace from Soft Surroundings that I am loving too!

  2. What a fabulous jacket Pam!!! And with that necklace it is just amazing! I love a touch of leather and this is perfection! I would hold on to that jacket forever! You are right, the length is perfect! Currently I have mostly slim jeans, a few pairs of skinny jeans and bootcuts. My goal is to rid myself of some pounds, and when I do I would love to get some wide-leg jeans just for fun. I mostly go with a slim, straight cut because they go with all of my jackets and tops. Boot cuts are flattering and really balance us out, so I wear those too. I like the longer length of bootcuts also. I’ll have to be on the lookout for an edgy jacket!

  3. Hi Pam – I really like this outfit! I could use some suggestions on jeans. I am so frustrated that so many manufacturers of jeans seem to think skintight jeans are the way to go. I have a hard time finding a nice, slim but not tight fit. I do like a little stretch – that is an improvement over past versions, but do they really need to fit so tight? I am curvy, generally a size 16, and often need a petit length. Help!!

  4. Hi Karen, my last two pair have come from dressbarn and I really like them. They have lots of size and style options. I am a curvy 16 and that is what I am wearing here. Might be worth a visit to try some on!

  5. Karen Scott, have you tried JAG jeans? They have a lot of stretch yet hold you in. They are slim but not tight. I have several pairs that I have worn for years. One tip: I don’t put my jeans in the dryer. Hope this helps.

  6. Pam, this outfit really hits the nail on the head – love the jacket, perfect length. A quietly powerfull look.

  7. Hi Pam, This is a great look and so flattering. The faux leather and the notching on the collar give it a very wonderful look.

  8. I have a bunch of jackets. (I prefer them to cardigan sweaters.) Some I haven’t paired with jeans, but I think I will now. This is great topic.
