Would You Wear It with Pam & Jennifer

Yes, it is Saturday and time for Would You Wear It with me and my friend, Jennifer.  We show you mannequins we have seen around town and ask you if you would or would not wear it.  We ask that you keep it personal to you and explain why the look would or would not work for you.  The comments are popular on this day, so do not just say yes or no.

Look my images over, comment, and then go to A WELL STYLED LIFE to see Jennifer’s look.  I hope you will also spend time with my slide show below to see some Spring Dresses!

So, now, ladies……………………………………………….tell us………………………………………………………………………………………………….

WOULD YOU WEAR IT??

This slideshow includes selections from Macy’s and Chicos where there are special sales this weekend!

  1. I may have worn this dress when I was in my 20’s to a summer outing, but at 64 this exposes far too much skin for my liking. Sorry, but the gingham does remind me of a patio tablecloth.

  2. This is a cute outfit! I like the casual vibe with the smallish cross body handbag and neutral sandals! Cute hemline! – Easy-peezy! Not so sure my pear/curvy silhouette could carry it off, but this is an appealing look! Who doesn’t love some gingham?!

  3. If I was a smaller size than my present one I would wear this dress. Depends on my mood and location. For a walk on the seaside promenade on summer evenings for example.

  4. Thanks Pam! I really like thus dress. Not usually a fan if gingham, but the navy and white appeals to me. I might add a shrug as I’m older than most if your readers, I think.
On a really warm or humid day I’d leave the shrug home and just go with it.
The neutral accessories are truly nice!
I’ typically like a shorter skirt, to knee, but the flounce is an interesting touch, so Id break my own rules….

  5. No I would not! While I like gingham and checks, this style, to me, is really frumpy. Unless it is worn by a much younger lady, because it seems the very young can pull off wearing what is frumpy on an older lady. Here, the top portion of the dress could be helped by less fabric at the shoulders. I’m thinking more of a sundress, narrow shoulder straps. Then moving to the bottom of the dress, the hemline is too overblown for my taste. Also, the checks are just a tad too large. I’m not a fan of self-belts. The cross body bag is cute. Overall, I’d walk on past this one.

  6. Like Jennifer’s mannequin, this style of a tie at the waist does not work for me. Also, the ruffle is just too much and the top is too bare. It just doesn’t fit my shape or style.

  7. Yes, I love it! Being vertically challenged the maxi dresses are too much for me but this would be a great summer dress. Love the shoes too! I also think this would be spectacular with a coral earrings and shoes. Styling this would be fun.

  8. Oh dear, I really dislike gingham but I would give the dress a try in another print or a solid colour. A fun style and accessories could give it different looks. Thank you, Pam, it made me smile.

  9. No, this dress is not for me. This pattern always makes me think of a picnic tablecloth, not something I want to wear!

  10. I try not to expose too much arm at over 70! I do love Bingham and bought a gorgeous gingham duster from Jennifer’s showing last year… however this dress shoes too much arm for me.

  11. I would at least try it on. The style is nice – simple and as others have said a good one for a hot summer walk on the beach or casual day out with friends. If the dress came in another print or solid I would be more likely to buy it – not sure if the larger gingham print would look tight on a shorter person.

  12. I love the pattern buts it’s scale is too big for my height. The dress style is not flattering for my shape. That’s says, it’s really cute and would be great for spring in a tall slender woman.

  13. I like this very much although gingham is not my favourite. I would prefer another pattern. The flounce is very flattering and pretty for me.

  14. Like this dress a lot and would wear it if it’s a faux wrap. I don’t like true wraps as I find myself constantly adjusting the dress. I like to dress sharply, but once I’m dressed, I don’t want to think about me outfit.

  15. Why do manufacturers make armholes so large? The sides of a bra would show through these armholes. I frequently find that in tops and dresses. For me, this dress would need a white camisole underneath.

  16. I love the gingham fabric but the cut of the outfit bothers me. It would be great as a simple shift. The tie at the waist abd the flounce at the bottom are too much for the print. That bold of a print needs a much simpler design or it does look like you wrapped a tablecloth around you!

  17. No, it’s way to bulky for my short stature. Do not wish to wear sleeveless anything. Smaller checks would be much more wearable. Does have a picnic vibe about it though and a longing for warmer weather…

  18. I would not wear this look. I like gingham, but would need a smaller scale print. I don’t really care for the style of dress, as it looks sloppy. Gingham should be crisp!

  19. I don’t wear many dresses but I do like this one. I might do a different belt but other than that I think it’s reallycute. It would be cool on a hot day.

  20. No I wouldn’t wear it. I would not look good in this, the cut and gingham is not right for me. This dress would have looked terrible on me when I was younger also.
It is made for a super thin person.

  21. For me, the checks are too big, and it simultaneously has too much fabric in the body yet exposes too much. I do like how they styled it.

  22. Yes! So I’m short and my arms are flabby, so what? I love how the flounce offsets the lines of the gingham, and the classic colors. I would never wear the shoes. Mules, slides, and clogs never feel secure to me.

  23. This would be perfect for my beachy Florida lifestyle! I’d swap out the self tie for a leather belt.

  24. I’m in the minority here, but I really like this dress. In my case though, I’d add a white shrug or cardigan to cover my arms.

Love the style and the pattern. It looks classic and trendy at the same time.

  25. This dress would look wonderful on one of my slim granddaughters but not for me. It has a retro vibe of been there and done that.

  26. I would not wear this at my height at 5’2”. Too much fabric & too long for my petite frame. Also sleeveless at 71 nit my preference unless a light sweater was worn over

  27. No, I wouldn’t. I don’t wear sleeveless anything these days, & I just don’t like the hemline.

  28. Sadly no, too low cut around the armpits, the ruffled hem is too fussy for me and i don’t like belts.
The fabric would make a nice sleeveless top but with a better cut. I’m not sure if the large gingham would flatter us larger ladies though.

  29. I’ll join the ‘been there, done that’ crowd. I wore something similar in my late 20’s. However, even then I felt it was memorable so it got very little wear. I like gingham and think this is a perfect vacation dress for the right figure at any age. Sadly, not on this body, LOL.

  30. I like the length of this dress but it wouldn’t be for me. I’m cold natured and the only time I purchase a sleeveless dress is when I have a jacket or cardigan to top it – not sure that would look like a ‘plan’ with this dress, and the armholes are too big for my frame.. Also, not a fan of ruffles, wrap dresses, or larger gingham.

  31. It’s cute but not for me. I’m petite and I can tell even in a petite size the arm holes are too long, the v-neck is too low, and the length would be too long even with a nice pair of wedgies. But on a tall, slim, gal – great dress for a sunny, warm day with a nice sun hat and straw bag.

  32. I like this dress. It looks light and airy and very much like summer. I like the checks and the contrast. I would prefer it in navy and white and wouldn’t consider it if it was red and white. That is too much picnic table to me. But, the navy gives it a different more classy feel. I like the ruffle and the high low hem.

  33. I agree, I’m 5’ nothing and wouldn’t wear this dress. Now a very small gingham print, and I’m in ?

  34. I like the length of the dress and the colour but the big ruffle on the hem makes it look fussy. if I saw this in a store, I’d give it a pass.
