Early Access: Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for Women over 50

You know how I love July!  And one of the reasons is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale where I find so many cute Fall items for women over 50.  This is when we are during that first period of the sale which is just for Nordstrom Cardholders.  I am amazed at how many things are already sold out!  Early access is open until July 18, and then everyone can shop sale prices from July 19-August 4.  But on August 5, the prices on these first of the fall season items go back up.

This is a way to take advantage of quality, trend-setting clothing at a savings and it is rather brilliant that Nordstrom does this. I got my friend Iris, and said, let’s go check out the Anniversary Sale and see what we can find.  She was game and we had a great time looking over the available pieces at The Shops of La Cantera in San Antonio.  i have decided for Fall 2019 to make more bold statements with prints and colors.  There are so many pieces in this sale to make that happen.  I have to be careful in this sale though to select garments which work for South Texas fall and winter…meaning some of the pieces are for really cold weather and we do not have it that often so the cost per wear goes up.  There are things I would love to own but I would not wear them that often.

Good news, though, there are many pieces this year which would work in San Antonio.  I have selected my early favorites in the slideshow below.  Enjoy a little taste of autumn!

KEEP SMILING, EVERYONE!!!

But wait, there’s more!

  1. Thanks for sharing these great looks! They all look great on you. I saw several things in the slideshows that caught my eye. We are about to get some sweltering heat in the coming week, so looking forward to fall is a treat.

  2. I like the plaid blazer very much. I’m typically so into the current season that it’s not easy for me to look ahead. Shopping preseason has always been a little difficult and I don’t do well with it. Guess I need more practice!

  3. So happy to see the classic styles I wear are still out there with a touch of my “wild side” in animal prints.

It’s hard to imagine wearing Fall clothes as we are melting in Ohio but I love Fall and it always is beautiful here. Football, cozy clothes, comfort food.

  4. I had already purchased one of the cashmere sweaters in rust (good price!) and a long cardigan in a chili pepper red. I’m with you-let’s get some color going!
