Would You Wear It with Pam & Jennifer

Welcome to Would You Wear It with me and my blogging friend, Jennifer!  We post fashion displays we have found about town and ask what you think,  We want to know if you would wear the outfit and ask that you explain why or why not it would be a good fit for you and your style.  Please keep your comments personal to you and process for us your buying decisions.

When I saw this look this past week, I thought it would be a perfect example of how we all have different tastes.  I am sure some of you have already thought, “Why is she posting a college girl’s outfit?” and others of you immediately thought, “How cool!”  I do know women over 50 who would wear this.  So, what say you in the audience?

WOULD YOU WEAR IT??

Please answer here and then hop over to A WELL STYLED LIFE and tell Jennifer what you think of her look.  I have a slideshow below for you to enjoy as well which includes all of the outfit pieces from Macys.  Thanks for participating…and, as always,

KEEP SMILING!

  1. The pleated skirt would not work for me, and I’m not a fan of belt bags. I might pair the leopard jacket and graphic tee with black pants. Unsure about the boots; they look a bit heavy, but might be fun in the fall.

  2. Oh man I LOVE this jacket….I don’t have the nerve, or youth, to wear the whole outfit, though!
I’d wear the jacket with everything!
I love the skirt, too and could put it with a black tunic??
I rarely wear stuff with designer initials like the shirt.
    Thanks, fun post!

  3. In theory I like this! It’s different! Unique! If I were twenty or thirty something, it would be a yes!
Today, it’s a no. The styling shouts for a younger, firmer body (especially the skirt).

  4. I agree with Shari. No designer names on clothes. It makes me feel like a walking advertising billboard. Designer names should be on the tag inside the clothes. Love the skirt!

  5. I LOVE the jacket, but I don’t think I’d have the guts to wear the whole outfit! I love these types of trendy outfits in other people, but I just feel silly in them. I’ve realized over time that I am most comfortable in classics with an occasional twist to make them more interesting.

  6. I love the whole look and would wear it with a couple or three exceptions. Something about the color pink of the skirt is jarring with the rest. Maybe a turquoise or royal blue? I too have a thing about advertising for a company, so the designer’s name would have to be replaced by something else-I do like graphic T’s . Also would not never nohow wear that belt bag thing; I just can’t abide them for some reason.

  7. Even though I’m slim, I wouldn’t wear the skirt, not flattering and I don’t like the color. Don’t maybe the belt bag? Love the jacket and boots though, would wear them with slim black pants. Like the idea of a graphic tee, but not with a brand name.

  8. I would wear the pleated skirt and the jacket, but not together. The tee shirt and fanny pack are a “no” for me, because personally I just don’t like designer names worn visibly on clothing or accessories. The skirt is beautiful and something I’d like to have. The jacket would be something I’d wear with jeans or over a simple dress. I know fanny packs, aren’t they calling them belt purses?, are back but I don’t especially like them.

  9. The only item I would wear is the cute jacket. The pleated skirt would not look good on my pear shape! I’m not a fan of big designer names on clothes, I feel like I’m wearing an advertisement or I’m trying to impress someone.

  10. I love the short jacket and would wear it. But not a printed tee with writing…designer or not. I might wear an ankle length skirt thought…no pleats for me. Love the boots but not a fan with shorter skirts. No to the belt bag…I have my own baggage there thank you!

  11. Definitely not the skirt- I’m too curvy for those pleats and too busty for the wider belt and bag.
The jacket and black boots and shirt would be a fun look in the fall with black or dark brown corduroy pants or jeans.

  12. Oh, dear–I cannot and would not wear any of this. Those pleats require an un-bulgy body; I don’t like leopard prints; the boots wouldn’t flatter my legs: and why would I pay to wear a tee advertising the designer?

  13. Let’s break this apart. The top half is dark and a little edgy. The shirt is light and feminine. The boots look very heavy. To me the look is jarring. I don’t like fanny packs. at. all. Designers should pay us to wear their logos. I think one has to be careful with animal prints. One nice piece is cute. Too much, in cheap fabrics, gets costume-y.

  14. There is just too much going on in this outfit. You’d think a skirt like this might help the eye flow, but instead my eyes are darting around— oh, look, a Beltbag (that I thought we were done with) cuts the silhouette, With Grommets!—Oh gosh, look at the repeating DKNY letters—And spots, lots of spots—And a cuff with lining that doesn’t quite hide the spots—And moving downward, more stuff to cut the line and leg…a visible line of underskirt that stops before the skirt hem—And calf height, oversized, loose combat boots. There’s something for everybody here, I guess that was the idea.

  15. No, no, no! Pleats are not my friend. Graphic advertising T-shirt nope. Fanny pack nope. Animal print jacket no. This is not for me.

  16. I LOVE the look! But I probably wouldn’t wear it. My mind says, “YES!” but my body shape and size says, “NO, NO, NO!” Pleats have never really worked for me. I don’t love the belt bag. I have boots similar to those in the photo that I have nearly worn out, I love them so much. And I have all the heart eyes for that leopard jacket!

  17. Looks fabulous! But. Maybe not ankle boots. White runners or some kitten heels?

  18. ok what is going on with this outfit? it leaves me feeling confused as to why you would wear all of this together. no i would not wear all of these pieces together, i think the only piece i would wear is the jacket maybe with anything else besides this combo.

  19. I love love this outfit. So many ideas from this outfit for transitioning to Fall. Looking at it, I don’t have to put my pinks away. Which is something I was thinking about yesterday. I love the skirt. My grandmother who was a department store buyer would wear skirts like that. I could see her wearing the whole outfit. I like the boots. When the weather changes footwear is a challenge for me.

  20. The jacket is cute! I agree with others about big, bold designer names on clothing…I avoid them.

  21. I would wear the jacket. It’s a pretty skirt but not with this outfit. I agree about the fanny bags. I’m no fan. Graphic tees good but not designer ones. Boots with this skirt doesn’t look right to me. I know it’s supposed to be edgy but I think it missed.

  22. Love the jacket. I have way too much weight on the bottom to wear that skirt. My 22 year old granddaughter has a couple of these pleated skirts and loves them.

  23. While I always love the juxtaposition of fancy and casual, I would not wear this as styled. I would need a sleeker shoe with the skirt, but if I did so, it would be fancy on the bottom and casual on top … which would not look good. That shade of pink looks great with leopard … maybe pink jeans? I do love the jacket and would definitely try it on. Good pick today, as it’s a little “out there,” but still appropriate.

  24. When I was 20, maybe. Now, the jacket is the only thing I could/would wear. The skirt would not look good on me, I have hips! Fanny pack is just ridiculous. Along with most everyone else, I don’t advertise for companies.

  25. I like the jacket! I’d wear it over a jean skirt and a plain top. I hate the boots and the bag belt. Definitely not for me! I would never wear a logo T with that flowy skirt. The skirt is pretty and at one time I would have worn it. I don’t think it would look good on me now.

  26. My first take was that this ensemble looked overly trendy to me … but I love the mix of colors and textures!!

I really like the pleated skirt paired with animal print jacket. It’s a nice mix of styles!!!
However (and for me), I’d change the graphic t-shirt for a plain black top and get rid of the belt.

As a woman over 60, I’m not a fan of those boots with this skirt. I’d wear simple mary janes or some type of shoe that is less chunky.

I think this look has many possibilities and with several revisions would work for many women.

    Thanks, Pam!

  27. I love the jacket & would wear it. I wouldn’t wear the t-shirt because it screams “look at what I can afford”. The skirt would not be friendly to my wide hips. The fanny pack brings back bad 80s flashbacks, & I think the boots are just ugly. These are just my opinions, and I’m putting down anyone who would rock this outfit. Go for it!

  28. I normally do not respond to these, but love to look at them. I love this whole outfit, from the top to the boots, except for the fanny pack. I am 75 years old and love to keep younger through my clothes. I do not think that this is too young looking for even my age. Thanks for showing this outfit and all of the others.

  29. I agree with others who said the look is jarring. I would wear the leopard jacket if it were mid-hip length and a black (non-designer) shirt with blue or black jeans. The skirt is pretty and feminine but not right for my body type, past or current. If I had the body type that looked good in a pastel pleated skirt, I would wear it but with a dressier blouse or sweater. Maybe I’m just not that imaginative, but I prefer classic styles.

  30. Great outfit! My exceptions would be another graphic tee and no belt bag, I have a perfect belt for this look. I also have fabulous A.S. 98 booties to go with it. In the fall I’d add a scarf and hat… always a hat. Love it! It rocks! That means I have to try on a skirt like this one… lol

  31. I love the jacket and the pleated skirt, I would probably go with a darker colour for the skirt since I spill my coffee or drop my lunch in my lap whenever I’m wearing a light colour. The boots are fine but it’s been +30 C in my city for the past two weeks and no sing of cooling down – looking at the heavy tread makes me feel hot.Pass on the belt and t-shirt.

  32. You said it twice Becky…Your comment was very personal. I don’t think anyone would receive it negatively.

  33. Well I’d wear the jacket with black pants or jeans and a plain black T shirt. None of the rest of the outfit is even remotely my style. I’m into clean, classic lines!
