Next Stop: Marshall’s for Affordable Designer Fashions

After my thrift shopping, I headed over to one of my very favorite places, Marshall’s, where affordable designer fashions are everywhere.  It is by far another fun treasure hunt event whenever I go.  Now, for those of you who live in South Texas where I am, you will wonder why I was shopping sweaters.  THEY GIVE ME HOPE!  Hope that cooler air will come.  It is still very hot and humid here and there is no change on the horizon at the moment.  We occasionally have years, when fall does not begin well into October and it looks as though this is one of those years….so sad!

But, I am ready when those breezes come.  Marshall’s is a place I can find designer brands for around $16-20 each.  This sweater is a beautiful deep green.  One of my favorite colors, although I have very little currently in my wardrobe.

You can see hanging behind me the same sweater in burnt orange, another of my favorites.  But I went with the green.  It is soft, has pockets, and I can wear it for many occasions.

I took home this poncho top for weekends.  I just love it and can see it with a long sleeved knit black top and my black leggings.  I am looking forward to wearing this.  It is a poncho fit so it is loose, but will be warm and comfy when that weather does get here..AND IT WILL GET HERE!!

Finally, I really like this long knit cardigan and can wear it now since it is light weight.   I like the button detailing on the sleeve and the fit is nice.

I was also looking for a leopard bag, but did not see one that I was willing to commit to on this trip.  I will keep looking.  But these three pieces and a couple of items I found for my daughter went home with me.  At full price, I would not have been able to do that.

Marshall’s is always a good idea!  They are affiliated with TJ Maxx and Home Goods.  So, that is my slide show today!  Is anyone else shopping for specific colors this fall?  Which ones are on your list?  Please share and always….

KEEP SMILING!

  1. I too am a lover of green and the two sweaters you showed would have gone home with me also. Unfortunately, the closest Marshall’s to me is over an hour away, so I never get there. Most of my shopping is done online. The color I am seeking this year is what I call caramel. Not camel because it tends to wash me out. Mustard is a color I also tend to have problems with. So I am trying to find a warm fall color that goes well with my paler skin tone. I am also in love with all the leopard you find everywhere.

  2. I love caramel. It is a beautiful color! I will look for it too and try to put some in my slideshows!

  3. I haven’t been to Marshall’s in years and they are all over my city. My sister-in-law works there and keeps telling me to shop with her to use her discount! Now you have piqued my interest with these great items!

  4. Marshall’s is my favorite store, and I never leave there empty handed! Love the sweaters you bought! I also love TJ Maxx and found a Michael Kors crossbody leopard bag there for less than half the retail price! Such fun bargains! I hope you will have some autumn weather soon….it’s my favorite time of year! Love your blog!

  5. That round bag in the first picture is how I do leopard. That is gorgeous!! I love the green sweater you chose! What a great color, and hoping for you that you’ll have some cool days to enjoy it soon! It’s strangely hot here still too, no fall colors yet. I’m heading to western New York next week to visit my son’s family and they are seeing the beautiful colors now and it’s cooler and I can’t wait to get there!

  6. We too have a Marshall’s chain in Canada however ours is affiliated with what we call Winners and Home Sense. The latter which I love but find the two former’s selection of merchandise has gone downhill in the past two years particularly when comparing them to what you are modelling that appear to be quite stylish and quality made. That said; though they are in very close proximity to me I seldom go into either any more and I have friends who share the same sentiment (Some live in different parts of the city, so its just not the store in my district that has changed.) Re shopping for ‘specific’ colors this Fall; as mentioned in an earlier comment one was a muted lime soda-pop green and another was a deep but vibrant purple which after some searching I was able to find and in the style (of top) I wanted. wishing you a beautiful week! -Brenda-
