Recommended Products for Women Over 50

Pamela Lutrell and Goli

It’s been awhile since I have done one of these posts, but I have some great products to tell you about today in my Recommended Products for Women Over 50.  Let’s start with Goli, Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies.

Pamela Lutrell for Goli Gummies

I have been reading about the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for a very long time, and I am one of those people who tried to eat a spoonful right out of the bottle and gagged every time.  I have bought and tossed the bottle at least twice.  Why?  Because the benefits of ingesting it were very persuasive.  From speeding up metabolism to killing bad bacteria.  It is said to reduce cholesterol, lower blood sugar after every meal.

“Several animal studies have shown that vinegar can reduce blood triglycerides, cholesterol and blood pressure. This could lead to a reduced risk of developing heart disease.”  – Healthline

Some research goes back as far as the early Greeks using vinegar to treat illness.  As I said, I was sold on trying it out, but the taste was not doable.  Then I heard from the people at Goli.  They just asked me to try the product to see what I think.  Both my husband and I like it and also like the added benefits of the gummies.  They add superfoods to the Apple Cider Vinegar, such as, Beetroots, Pomegranates, vitamin B12, Citrus Acid and Vitamin B9.  Check out the site at GOLI and see what you think.  The taste is good…like a gummie should!  But, as always, you should speak to your doctor before making any health changes.

LET’S TALK MAKEUP!

Loreal lip pencil with Pam Lutrell

Many of you know I love my purple eyeliner!  It makes my green eyes pop and I have been purchasing a top makeup brand for a long time now.   But, I decided I wanted to go in search of one that was a better price and that I could pick in the grocery when I am there.  So, recently I purchased a purple by the Loreal Infallible Eyeliner line…I have only used it one day…but loved it.  Went on very easy and smooth and stayed on all day…no smudges.  it is a very pretty deep purple and they also have one in a lighter lilac color.  There was a nice variety of colors.

Pamela Lutrell for Jane Iredale Lip Products

I go back and forth on lipsticks but my favorite remains the ones from Jane Iredale.  They are all natural.  Keep my lips plump and smooth.  Plus, the color stays on.  I also like their color selections.  See the slideshow below.

SOMETHING NEW FROM CHAMONIX

Pamela Lutrell for Chamonix

I am so excited about this new product I just received from Chamonix to try….I am in the process of using it and I can report back later.  But, for one who smiles and laughs alot, there are many laugh lines.  So, I am excited to see a new product just for that area of my face.  I have written for over a year now about the value of this skincare line…Chamonix All Natural Plant Based Skincare with Genucel (plant cell technology).  It has turned my complexion around and I love it.  The only line I have used for over a year.  Read more about Genucel Face Serum for Mouth and Laugh Lines. I love this skincare line so much!

  1. That’s interesting about the gummies. I am able to tolerate the vinegar by mixing it with fresh squeezed juice, type of juice doesn’t matter. Do you think it’s the same amount in the gummies? The metabolism thing doesn’t seem to live up to the claims, but it does have those benefits you list. I know it’s important to get the quality vinegar with “the mother”, and I just prefer to believe it’s doing what they say! I actually use that eyeliner and really like it. With the focus on purple for shadows this spring, it’s nice to have the pretty liner too. I started using this when I realized it performed the same as a pricey brand, and who knows what we’re wearing anyway, right? I also like their mascara.

  2. Dear Pam, it is indeed important to consult a doctor first, as there are some dangers with the apple cider vinegar. One should not use it regularly as a drink, if one has stomach issues or diabetes, for instance.

In France, it is a common product in the kitchen, but not used alone (such a horrible taste !). The recipes I have seen for a « cider vinegar drink » are a mixture : 1 or 2 small spoons of cider vinegar, 1 small spoon of honey or maple sirup (very important and very good), in a big glass of water. You can also mix it with orange or grapefruit juice (from the fresh fruit) instead of water.

At home, we use the cider vinegar as an alternative to other vinegars : for salads, humus, beans-rice soups, etc. We mix it with a bit of olive oil and spices (cinnamon, ginger, depending on your taste).

I enjoy your blog very much. I love particularly necklaces and yours are usually so spectacular and well chosen ! Thank you. Catherine

  3. Hi Pam. Thank you for answering my purple eyeliner question with this post! I am glad to hear that you like the Loreal. I will certainly give it a try and the better price point is a plus. I am going to try the vinegar gummies too with your link. Thank you for the research work you go to and for your delightful blog.

  4. You are so welcome, Debbie. I love the Loreal purple…really goes on so easy! Thanks for being here.

  5. I actually think this Loreal Infalliable performs better than what I have been using. I am glad I decided to check it out. Thanks Karen.

  6. I have such a problem with eyeliner. I just can’t seem to apply it in a thin smooth line. I’ve tried liquids, pencils and powders. I have blue eyes, very fair skin and light lashes. I don’t know if that makes any difference. Then several years ago a friend said I looked so much younger without it. So now I rarely wear it, but would like to know how to apply it successfully.

  7. I’ve used apple cider vinegar for years, and there are some days I just can’t choke it down. It is wicked to get down, even diluted. I ordered the gummies (who doesn’t love a gummy)?

Jane Iredale makes fantastic makeup. I have dry peely lips and lipstick always looks bad on me caught up in the little peely cracks so I never used any color other than one very close to my natural lip color.

  8. I have been taking Goli gummies for about a month now and have felt noticeably better … more energy, less aches and pains … I couldn’t handle the taste of the apple cider vinegar either so these are perfect for me. I started using Chamonix Genucel after reading your blog and am very happy with the results. Just ordered the serum you talked about a few weeks ago to add to my regimen. Thanks for such a great and informative blog. Hope next week is better for you!
