Would You Wear It Mid-Week Pop Up with Pam & Jennifer

Over 50 Feeling 40 hosts Would You Wear It Pop Up

Surprise! Jennifer and I thought we would surprise you with a mid-week Would You Wear It Pop-up!  Our version of the pop-up shop.  The reason I did the post yesterday about shaking off the doldrums is because I have friends telling me they are beginning to drag!  In an effort to brighten up your day, we decided to host an extra Would You Wear it event because so many readers love and look forward to Saturdays.

Would You Wear It Pop Up on Over 50 Feeling 40

The requests are the same as on Saturdays.  Keep your comments personal and constructive. We are not really asking if you do or do not like the look…but, would you wear or would not WEAR the look with an explanation to help other readers understand.

I receive quite a few mailers/catalogs at home, so I wanted to feature one of those styles.  Tomorrow, I will tell you what I think of the look and answer the question if I would wear it or not.  But, for today….ladies, look at this style and tell us….

WOULD YOU WEAR IT???

After you comment, head on over to A WELL STYLED LIFE and tell Jennifer what you think of her look.  Then I hope you will return here for today’s slideshows (inspired by similar pieces)…( I cannot link to this particular retailer), but will discuss it tomorrow.

Remember, in our social distancing world, your smile is the way you send hugs!

  1. I like this look, the shape of the crochet shrug and how it is styled in the photo. I would totally wear it! It is a chic look I think. It definitely cheered me up to look at beautiful fashion. Thank you ladies!

  2. I’m the reverse of Paulette. I am not keen on the outfit, but that mushroom color is a staple for me 🙂

  3. it is kind of pretty, but i would not wear it. the hem line of the top, combined with the hemline of the over piece, would accent my widest section even with my best friend Spanx helping out. i believe longer pants and a less chunky shoe might help the lines of it for another woman. and a different color,

  4. I would wear it a lot. It looks like it would be one of my favorites, however I wonder if the shrug would stay straight on me, or would it sag to one side or the other as I was working.

  5. I would definitely wear the crochet/knit topper — so cute! I like the hem length and the sleeve length. That would look fantastic over my sleeveless black dress. I would not wear the top or capris. I don’t like the pant style — short wide legs oh no.
Thanks for doing this. I always enjoy “Would you Wear it”. I always learn something in the comments.

  6. Interesting design! Like the crochet poncho but would prefer it to be longer, covering the tank , maybe a little longer. The pants are fine and would be longer on me. However, all said, I don’t like the color which would do nothing for me. Give me cobalt blue, navy or a berry color. I rather like the sandals but not sure if I would wear them with the wide straps.

  7. Maybe this would look good on a young, thin woman. On me if would look like I was choosing a loose, shapeless outfit in the attempt to hide my problem areas. I would end up just looking dumpy.

  8. Interesting, but not for me. Too much excess fabric. Looks great on the model, but all that fabric would get in my way. Like the midweek window shopping. and slide show

  9. I think I would love it even more in another color. It is very flattering for any height. This outfit would hide so many unflattering rolls.

  10. Love the crochet cover up….nice sleeve length and just right for covering upper arms. I would wear the outfit, but like a few others mentioned would prefer another color. It is an uplifting outfit and gives us hope for the days to come.
    Thanks for your honest opinions.

  11. While neither the color nor the style would be flattering on me, I enjoyed seeing the outfit. It is quite striking. Thank you. Can you tell us the name of the catalog please?

  12. What a fun idea!! So great to use catalog features! I’d wear the shrug with other things, but don’t look good personally in flared crops, but the tank and the shrug definitely! It’s really a beautiful outfit and she looks stunning in it! Yesterday’s blues are gone, thank goodness! It’s a new day! Thanks for surprising us with this fun feature!

  13. The look is great as posed, the outfit is very attractive, BUT it would take a person with a body and overall appearance as the model to carry it off….definitely not me. Mushroom though .. a color I do like. What is the fabric? Would prefer it more in a heavy silk

  14. What a fun treat! Thank you! Love this out fit. I can’t actually wear it because it Would hi-light my post menopausal belly, exaggerate my large shoulders and bust line and overwhelm my 5’3” frame. Sigh…… love the drama of the look. When I saw it I was sure it was Artful Home.

  15. I love the shapes and fabric. The linen would be very cool for our hot summers. I’d love this whole outfit in the sand color. The crochet shrug is a great way to cover my upper arms without adding warmth and right on trend.
I wish I knew how to crochet! Maybe I’ll try to teach myself while stuck at home.
The pants would be full length on me which I like.

  16. I love this outfit! It has depth of color and the design is so chic. I might size down on this one so that it has a little more fit. I wonder, though, if it is linen? That is a deal-breaker for me. Linen is hot and clammy in our humid climate and Oh, the wrinkles! I can’t take the wrinkles. I will definitely look up this line. Thank you for introducing something different and maybe a new source for clothing for me.

  17. I would wear it depending on how my legs looked in the pants. I usually like my pants to be on the long side. It’s cute and different!

  18. I love the top and would definitely try it on. I probably would not choose the wide cropped pants paired with the top. They would only emphasize my skinny calves and ankles.

  19. The model looks fantastic in this, but not so much on me. The pant length would need to be much longer and I feel I would always be fussing with the topper. If the pants came in a longer length and cooler colour, I would try them on. I think I would like the crochet top if it had actual sleeves and was a bit longer as well. All in all, fun to look at fashion and dream.

  20. Thank you for this mid-week surprise. The color here would really work for me. I like the top pieces but might want to wear them with a slimmer cut pant. Not sure how the wider legs would work with my shorter stature.

  21. Yes, I would wear this! I prefer the sand/natural combination (fair skin, pink undertone) and add flat cognac leather gladiator sandals. I like all of the pieces because as separates each would blend well with other items in my wardrobe, casual to dressy. I could even see the crochet topper over a bathing suit. And yes, I wear one. To heck with it!

  22. I would and I do. I have made these in black, lime, and silver. They cover the shoulders and upper arms and I feel very chic! So glad I was fashion forward before this post.

  23. I love this outfit! Due to the loose fit, I think it would be great at hiding a multitude of problems. Since I have a large bust, I think I would prefer the shrug in a smaller gage or super fine yarn. I actually have several similar shrugs and they’re great for adding a little warmth in the evening and covering upper arms during the day. They make great travel pieces as they work day to evening and scrunch up to throw in a bag.

  24. Not the pants — too short, too full, too frou-frou with the tucks at the hem. I’m just not tall enough to get away with a look like this, even with heels, & prefer pants that are slim & unadorned. But I’d definitely wear the top & shrug in the charcoal & smoke combo (and would love it in a metallic copper, not an option unless I made it myself — not an impossibility). The outfit’s too dressy for day wear here but would be perfect for dinner at one of our fancier resorts (presuming we ever have dinner out again!). I also don’t think the model’s shoes — so clunky! — fit the look. Or maybe I just see the whole outfit as being dressier than some do because I live in such a casual seaside/mountain resort town, so feel the shoes should be dressier, too. [Btw I love the slide shows — what a great way to share an abundance of items!]

  25. The color would not work for me. I like the tank and the shrug but I don’t care for the wide cropped pant. I have a jumpsuit with a similar look to the tank/pant. It’s a beautiful blue and the pants are full-length. I’m not usually a fan of wide-legs but my jumpsuit is crepe so it’s soft and flowy and that works for me. The great thing about shrugs and capelets is they add a light covering over your arms and the hemline provides some camouflage for your torso, waist, and tummy. I just bought a dress with an attached sheer capelet for my Granddaughter’s upcoming wedding. The slide show reminded me that I have a couple of shrugs tucked away in a drawer! Even though I wouldn’t buy the outfit shown, it still gave me ideas on how to use what I already own! Thanks for the mid-week inspirational boost!

  26. I don’t like how I look in wide crops, so that would be a no for me. The crochet top would hide the upper arm, but that is not a problem for me. I do feel the topper would end right where my tummy starts, which might make for a fatal flaw. Otherwise, it does fit my style adjectives of polished, confident, creative, interesting and aware. Polished because of the tonal and one color neutral, confident because it is stylish and different, creative with the textured topper, interesting because it is :), and aware because the fabric is natural, high quality, and the base is versatile, allowing for other pairings.

  27. It’s a great look but just not for me.
I lost 60 pounds a number of years ago & no longer wear any flowing clothes, I worked too hard to hide my figure like I used to.
I love the color but as I’m aging I find brighter colors are really better for my porcelain complexion & blonde hair, darn!

  28. I like it and I would try it on. I’m petite, so always worry about the proportions. A variety of colours would be nice too as others have mentioned. I do love the loose trousers and top. I’m really going for that look as long as it doesn’t swamp my 5’0″ body. I think it looks sophisticated and stylish!

  29. I agree with Sheryl about too many horizontal lines, but for me it’s because They make me look even shorter than my statuesque 5’. I think the color is a great neutral, and would wear it in a more flattering shape. Of course short pants are a no for me. And wide short pants! Yikes!

  30. I love monochromatic outfits and this color is wonderful. I would definitely wear this outfit. It looks so stylish and comfortable.
