JUST A NOTE:

Pamela Lutrell for Goli GummiesThere are several ways that I generate income through this blog in order to cover business expenses and give myself much needed income.  Purchases through the slideshow links is one way, ads on the page is one way and a new way is through ordering or re-ordering the GOLI Apple Cider Vinegar gummies through me with my GOLI LINK HERE.  Again, if you are not familiar with the benefits of apple cider vinegar, you should speak with your personal physician.  My husband and I are sold on the benefits and I am proud to represent this product.  I am going to leave this at the bottom of my posts so that when you, friends or family would like to order you can use my link.  Thanks for the support.  This is a great product.

  1. Things are changing in the fashion industry. One retailer I know of has reopened with no dressing rooms open. Many fast fashion retailers have left their manufacturers overseas, particularly in Bangladesh, on the hook for orders that have already been filled or partially filled. This has been covered in various business publications. How can this go on? Other chains are seeking bankruptcy protection.

The industry is failing, and many chains will not survive. Fast fashion has hit a fork in the road. It is not sustainable. We will pay more for clothing in future, but will the ethics of the industry change? Will quality over quantity return?

  2. Great comment, Binky. We will all be watching to see how this pans out.

  3. Thanks, Pam, for the great articles! I particularly enjoyed the one about the future of fashion as well as the one about the retailers that have closed. Seeing the pictures of Woolworth’s and Fotomat brought back fond memories. Yes, we do lose stores but new ones pop up too. The American entrepreneurial spirit always seems to move onward. I’m looking forward to seeing your new fashion finds next week!. Stay safe!

  4. You included several interesting articles today which I enjoyed. Since I have arthritis, and my husband has gout, I read through those articles which emphasized what we should or should not eat to help control that pain. But the most memorable article I found after reading through one of the others was about a new edible coating which apparently is now being used to keep avocados from ruining so quickly. It is called Apeel , and can coat fruits and vegetables to prevent oxidation which causes decay. As a retired science teacher, I was naturally curious about the substance, and pleased to hope it will be used in the future so our produce will last longer once brought home from the grocery store. I also read that if you freeze avocados once they are ripe, you can run warm water over them, and let them sit for 30 minutes on the counter. When you cut it, the color and taste are very good…going to try that hack.

  5. The article about the future of fashion was of particular interest to me. I’m sure that we will see many changes in the industry once the pandemic has passed. Much will depend on whether the attitudes and ethics of we, the consumers, change and where we are willing to put our dollars.

  6. Great information, Celia. I am going to research all of this since I LOVE avocados. Thanks so much

  7. I agree, Elaine. It will be interesting to watch this unfold from the consumer side. Thanks!

  8. Great articles, Pam. The only thing we can count on is change. Some things we will sadly have to say good bye to, but other things will emerge that we’ll love. I’m thinking fashion in the future, especially accessories will come with a coordinating mask! I’m invisioning a scarf with a mask tucked in the edge, aka, Arabian nights that one can swoop up to one’s face when in a crowd.
