Would You Wear It Mid-Week Pop Up with Pam and Jennifer

Mid-length Dress on Over 50 Feeling 40

Wednesday!  Yes, we are closer to the three-day Memorial Day Weekend!  Can’t wait…so let’s celebrate with a Would You Wear It Mid-Week Pop-Up with me and my friend, Jennifer!

Most of you know the drill…but, if you happen to be new, what we do at least once a week, is post a look that we want your opinion on.  We are asking you to constructively look the outfit over and tell us if you would or would not wear it and explain why.  We still have a couple of you just saying yes or no, but that does not help other women to scrutinize what might be right for them.  But, when you comment with the intention to educate others and evaluate not only your taste and style, but also body type, lifestyle and fit, then you are helping other women (and even perhaps the brand) to understand your answer.

This is a two-blog event that we have expanded recently to be up on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  As long as the interest is there, we are willing to do this two days a week.  So, let’s begin.  Look at my selection above, and tell us, ladies……………………………………

WOULD YOU WEAR IT???

Then head on over to A WELL STYLED LIFE to comment on Jennifer’s selection.  I hope you will also spend some time with today’s slide show (which includes the above style if you happen to like it), and, as always…despite the craziness around us, make sure you

KEEP SMILING!!

JUST A NOTE:

Pamela Lutrell for Goli GummiesThere are several ways that I generate income through this blog in order to cover business expenses and give myself much needed income.  Purchases through the slideshow links is one way, ads on the page is one way and a new way is through ordering or re-ordering the GOLI Apple Cider Vinegar gummies through me with my GOLI LINK HERE.  Again, if you are not familiar with the benefits of apple cider vinegar, you should speak with your personal physician.  My husband and I are sold on the benefits and I am proud to represent this product.  I am going to leave this at the bottom of my posts so that when you, friends or family would like to order you can use my link.  Thanks for the support.  This is a great product.

  1. This is a beautiful dress, and I’m a dress girl. However, there is too much fabric here for me and I’d be swallowed up in it. It might work without the poofy sleeves, but it just looks very full and I find fitted to be more flattering, for me. But it is really a pretty dress. I’m not a fan of self belts, but that is an easy fix.

  2. this is pretty, but only wearable on slender people….its just too bulky for a pear shape like me.

  3. I love this dress. It looks so comfortable while still looking chic. I would also like to see it in other colors to better see the details.

  4. I love this dress – on someone else. I think it would overwhelm me. I’m petite & still a bit chunky so I think this would not be so flattering on me.

  5. I’m really not sure on this one! I’d have to try it on to be honest. I’m not crazy about the sleeves or tie belt as I usually don’t like these styles, but I’ve lost a lot of weight recently and sometimes I’m surprised wen I try something on. I don’t typically like navy either with my coloring. Perhaps another color.

  6. I’m not really a fan of the poofy sleeves or the fabric belt, so this is a no for me.

  7. I like the length and the fact that it has sleeves. I might need to alter it to be a bit more fitted through the middle so that it has an easy, but slightly fitted shape. The fabric would make it comfortable in the heat even though it is black (can’t wear the yellow). It would look great with a colorful necklace and coordinating bright shoes.

  8. I would definitely wear this dress. I love the cool looking flow and chic style of the dress. I mostly wear sleeves as feel my upper arms are not out of proportion for my size.

  9. A beautiful dress in either pale vanilla yellow or navy! I don’t mind the self belt on this particular dress. It adds something to the total package I think. With some bright bracelets and earrings —wow!

  10. I think this dress is lovely, but it would not be very flattering on me. The sleeves would be a bit too bulky for my frame.

It looks very comfortable and cool.

  11. I like the dress but the sleeves would accentuate my broad shoulders too much. The navy is imminently wearable but not with a self belt. It appears much too large on the model so that could be part of the issue too.

  12. I see this as a perfect dress for a pear body shape. The waist is cinched in, and the sleeves end at the narrowest part of the body. The A-line shape is also an excellent choice. The torso length hem length: perfect, too. This is one of those dresses I would want to wear all the time. The yellow version is so good. Yes!

  13. Such a gorgeous selection today!! My first thought was, “ugh, why always in black?!” and then I went inside and found that beautiful buttercup color! I adore anything and everything in this shade of yellow. Sadly, as other ladies this morning have noted, the sleeves and sheer volume of fabric would likely not do me any favors. I would have snapped this up in a heartbeat twenty to thirty years ago. Now I need a more tailored fit to feel my best.

  14. Just echoing what others have said. Would love to wear the dress, however, all of the fabric in the sleeves would Highlight my broad shoulders, large bust and My being “slightly” overweight (not in a good way) Do love the waist and skirt.

  15. Not a fan of the puffy sleeves at my age. Too much fabric. Plus, I would be too hot with elbow length sleeves in the summer. Also not a fan of self belts. the neckline would also bother me- sort of poking me. It just is sort of dowdy looking to me.

  16. It is available in yellow…I put it in the slideshow. Thanks Michele!

  17. It is a cute dress, but I only wear dresses around the house these days and this does not seem to fit well into my lifestyle these days. The style of the upper bodice does not appeal to me and I don’t think the large sleeves would be comfortable.

  18. I love dresses but this one would not work on my body. I look best in dresses with a lot less volume. There are three dresses in the slideshow that would be a better look for me. I like the slim maxi shown with a denim jacket. I also like the short print dress and the short-sleeved black maxi dress. Dresses that skim the body or have a draped top are more flattering on my curvy body.

  19. I love dresses, and this one is lovely, but sadly not for me. I am short but with a large chest, so the sleeves would just add volume to my top half and being short this dress would look to voluminous on me even if I shortened it.

  20. The dress looks very comfortable, but I prefer something more fitted. Solid black is not flattering on me and while the yellow is pretty, it’s a colour I haven’t worn before. I wouldn’t mind trying it, but probably in a top rather than a dress.

  21. Love this dress and would buy in both colors! Find dresses much cooler in the su
    mmer!

  22. I tend to like a more tailored dress but do like the length of this one and the fact that it has sleeves and I like the sleeve length. The volume at the armscye seems excessive for my frame but I’m a pear shape and it might provide a balance for my hips. I would try it on with an open mind.

  23. Beautiful dress but the shape would not be attractive for my body type….too much volume. I think on a slender tall woman it would be fabulous in either color.

  24. I like the dress. I would love it sleeveless and in a color like hot pink, aqua or navy. Super cute for a hot day out + wine with girlfriends or dinner date.

  25. *swoon* A sweet butter/top cream midi dress with elbow-length sleeves & mandarin-esque neckline. Saying elbow & midi for us slight of stature ladies =}.

Although gathered sleeves leave me auditioning for a linebacker’s position, these look more subtle. Ladies with wide shoulders probably know that drill, too.

It’d be cute styled with bone colour & ribbon lace espadrilles, Mother of Pearl bead bracelet & stud earrings. I’d add a subtle print neckerchief, an ivory straw hat & clutch-style bag.

Minimal colour or contrast on very hot, hazy, humid days just feels so cool & refreshing. Yesterday was 92-degF— wore something similar (skirt/top).

  26. Not sure this would work on me, even though I think it looks lovely on the model. All black is not a colour that looks good on me. I think the dress looks best on a tall, slender person similar to the model, which is not my particular shape or height. It’s taken me a few years to realize that just because I may admire the way an outfit looks on someone else, does not mean it will work for me. I try to be more mindful of any new clothing purchases by selecting only colours and shapes that I’m certain will work for me. I’m finding in the long run mindful purchases save me money and frustration.

  27. Midi dresses are not particularly flattering to my figure, but it looks like something I might have worn in my younger days in a shorter length. These days, I don’t find myself wearing dresses much, but I could see it on a taller person.
