Today’s News for Women Over 50

Today's Headlines for Women over 50 on Over 50 Feeling 40

Welcome to Today’s News for Women over 50!  This is the day where I curate headlines from around the globe that I believe might be of interest to you…the fabulous women over 50!  The last set of headlines featured a story about the benefits of starting our day with a glass of green tea before anything else goes into our stomachs.

The claim is that it will boost our metabolism for the day better than anything else.  So I started to do that this past week.  I will let  you know if I notice the benefits.  But, these are the types of articles I find for us.

Now, before you read something here and make huge change in your health routine, please speak to your personal physician to confirm that it is a good idea for you!  Lot’s of info today on this summery July Sunday, so let’s get started….

JUST A NOTE:

Pamela Lutrell for Goli GummiesThere are several ways that I generate income through this blog in order to cover business expenses and give myself much needed income.  Purchases through the slideshow links is one way, ads on the page is one way and a new way is through ordering or re-ordering the GOLI Apple Cider Vinegar gummies through me with my GOLI LINK HERE.  Again, if you are not familiar with the benefits of apple cider vinegar, you should speak with your personal physician.  My husband and I are sold on the benefits and I am proud to represent this product.  I am going to leave this at the bottom of my posts so that when you, friends or family would like to order you can use my link.  Thanks for the support.  This is a great product; as well as, the ones below!

  1. Lots of information this morning Pam. The pictures of the different bug bites was interesting and good to see the actual pictures. I was getting to the point of surrender this year, then discovered the DEET alternative Picaridin and so far that seems to be helping. The sundresses seem to have a large number with spaghetti straps, and for those of us needing a bra (at this age I hope that includes most) it is a bit frustrating. You are great at finding us articles to keep the conversations flowing.

  2. Thanks Diane…I am with you on those spaghetti straps! Have a lovely Sunday!

  3. I think the sundress article was misnamed. The dresses pictured are summer dresses but not all of them are what I think of as a “sundress.” To me, a sundress is sleeveless. I don’t wear spaghetti strapped dresses so while I admire how they look, I won’t buy one. I think the last dress from Amazon is the perfect “sundress” for an older woman. I may buy one!

  4. Thanks for the fascinating collection of goodies! My favorite zucchini recipe: wash a zucchini but don’t peel, slice lengthwise into long “planks”, press gently with a towel to get some of the water out, sprinkle with salt, pepper & a dusting of parmesan & toss on the grill. Fabulous as a side or piled onto bread with other grilled veg as a summery sandwich or added to a burger. I am definitely going to try the fritters, though.

My husband got me a fancy foot bath years ago & I’m addicted to it & use it every week. A couple of years ago I started tossing a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar into the water & my feet have never been softer — & I live in bare feet. I also invest in top-quality pumice stones & foot files & use them regularly & every single night at bedtime I slather cream into my feet & legs (I keep a pr of slide-on slippers beside the bed to use if I get up in the night to protect the floors & carpet; by morning it’s all absorbed). It really does pay off.
