Would You Wear It Over 50 with Pamela & Jennifer

Dillards Fashion Display on Over 50 Feeling 40

It is Saturday!  One of our favorite days here on this blog as we look at Would You Wear It over 50 with me and my friend, Jennifer!   We search out fashion displays which make us wonder what our audiences would think of the styles.  We are not looking for items we like or dislike…just the ones that make us ponder!

Be Bold Display at Dillards on Would You Wear It with over 50 feeling 40

Please look our displays over and tell us if you would or would not wear the styles.  Tell us from your personal perspective why it would or would not work for you.  We are not asking if you would buy it or wear it right now….but if given the opportunity, would you or would not wear the style.  Then explain why because the other readers want to know!  The comments are very popular on these posts.

So, let’s begin…look over my colorful display and tell us………………..

WOULD YOU WEAR IT???

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE

Nordstrom on over 50 feeling 40

I did make it over to the San Antonio Nordstrom at The Shops at La Cantera, and had a great time trying on looks from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  The store was very safe…everyone in masks and social distancing, and the aroma of disinfectant gently floated through the air.  I discovered many great prices at this year’s sale and it always gets me excited for fall. (Today in San Antonio we will see 105!)

Shopping at Nordstrom on over 50 Feeling 40

Below are some more ideas for you…have fun shopping, but remember things go quickly.  I took a picture of this Madewell bag below while I was there…the large tote is already sold out but the crossbody is still available and in the slideshow today.

JUST YUM!

Sun Basket Meals on Over 50 Feeling 40

Finally, Mr. B and I are still enjoying our three Sun Basket meal deliveries per week, and this week, our favorite was the Shrimp Paella with fire-roasted tomatoes and bell pepper.  So easy to fix…so good to eat.  After a couple of months and eating three meals a week, we have not repeated a meal and so enjoyed the diversity.

Now, remember to go over to A WELL STYLED LIFE and tell Jennifer what you think of her fashion display.  Then have fun shopping and as always……………………………………………………

KEEP SMILING!!

JUST A NOTE:

Taking Juice Plus+ for seven years on Over 50 Feeling 40

There are several ways that I generate income through this blog in order to cover business expenses and give myself much needed income.  Purchases through the slideshow links is one way, ads on the page is one way and a new way is through ordering or re-ordering Juice Plus+ whole food capsules.  Please read my story and information HERE.

ADD SOME APPLE CIDER!

Pamela Lutrell and Goli

Another way is through ordering or re-ordering the GOLI Apple Cider Vinegar gummies through me with my GOLI LINK HERE.  Again, if you are not familiar with the benefits of apple cider vinegar, you should speak with your personal physician.  My husband and I are sold on the benefits and I am proud to represent this product.  I am going to leave this at the bottom of my posts so that when you, friends or family would like to order you can use my link.  Thanks for the support.  This is a great product; as well as, the ones below!

  1. Definitely would wear those shoes! Those are gorgeous and would work with dresses, pants and jeans equally well. The bold outfits would not work for me. Just not into bold. I look even shorter in skirts that long, so that doesn’t work in general. This is a trend that I won’t be participating in! But those shoes!!!! A big YES to those!!

  2. I love this skirt!!! The knife pleats and the primary colours are totally in my fashion wheelhouse. I would switch out the green sweater for a black sweater or top, perhaps with a bit of drape. I would likely add a wide leather belt, a necklace and earrings that pick up the colours in the skirt and black patent sandals or short boots. The shoes are gorgeous but the heel is too high for my wobbly ankles.

  3. Well, if bold is the look for fall, I may be out of the loop. I do like colour, but the abstract geometric is too much for me. I am more of a watercolour girl. The tee looks great on the mannequin but the crew neck and shorter sleeves are not flattering on my figure. This look would have me admiring it on someone else, just not me.

  4. If love these two outfits on someone else, someone younger and taller and thin. The colors are pretty and certainly vibrant and it’s fun to look these over but for me- it’s neutrals with a pop of color in shoes or handbag or jewelry. I just feel more like ME in neutrals.

  5. I would wear the green sweater with white or navy jeans. The skirt, purse and shoes are too colorful for me. I like the skirt length but I don’t wear pleats. Nope.

  6. i would stop and smile at those shoes, so me, 30 years ago, lol.
but nothing else on the display would work on me…the little red dress would be great on a 20something. the skirt, pleats are not kind to me. the green top, too form fitting for me.

  7. I’m not keen on the models, pleats aren’t my thing, where would I even wear such outfit
The dressing room photo is a good work look.
You can put the jacket on for video events, when we go back to the office it will come in handy for HVAC issues.

If I were actually leaving the house in the outfit I might switch the slides out for a pair of loafers.

  8. Not for me – the colors are too bold. Also I don’t dress up enough to wear pleats. To me pleats are dressy. I could do the colors on the shoes, but the heel is too high for me.

  9. Good Morning! I hope everyone is doing well. I love the look of the skirt and top and 10 years ago I might have worn them, alas, weight has shifted and I wouldn’t be able to wear the pleats and a snug tucked in top would not be attractive on my body type. I think on a taller, thinner woman this would be lovely. I agree with someone who mentioned the shoes! Love them but at 73 I will just admire them and appreciate them on someone else. The red dress is a no for me.

  10. It takes a bold spirit and self confidence to wear that outfit—so hooray for those who have chutzpah to carry it off. I’m sure they look fantastic in it and all of the colors in the skirt just cry out for some great accessories………..like some colorful Bakelite bangles on the arm or some dramatic colored beads on the neck.

Pam, if you would look thru’ your photo gallery of your latest looks I think you’d notice how much more flattering a shorter jacket or shirt is on you. You’re not needing to hide behind or beneath layers and the shorter length actually keeps the eye off of the hip area. Granted, if you’re wearing leggings it’s necessary, but so often it’s not.

  11. I like the tee shirt and would put it on to see if it worked but the color might be too strong for me. I also know the skirt is too bold a print for my petite frame but I think the two together look wonderful and vibrant and I could see someone taller, and younger, looking great in this. Happy weekend Pam!

  12. That is a really cute yellow bag, so I would consider taking that home! The shoes are terrific, but wouldn’t work for my wide and troubled feet. Pleated skirts are a hard No for me, though the length is exactly what I favor. Overall it’s a very bold look, which is eye catching . . .just not at all Me. I agree with another lady who complemented your look in the closer fitting, shorter jacket. You are definitely looking fantastic in the more form fitting styles.

  13. Good morning and thank you for your posts. The outfit on the mannequin is striking and fun, but not for my 74-year-old self! I do love the jacket and long cardigan you are modeling. I think you look terrific!

  14. No, I wouldn’t wear these. The red dress is too short for me, the green top too form fitting, and I don’t like pleats in a skirt. Individually, I like the colours and they might work for me in a smaller pattern, but the huge bold blocks of colour on the skirt would overwhelm me. I love the shoes, but I can’t wear heels.

  15. While I would admire these looks on someone else, these pieces are a no for me. The dress on the left is too short, too bare at the shoulders, and too many gathers and ruffles for me. The top on the right is too fitted to be flattering for me but would be a great under a jacket! The skirt print is too large, too bold for my frame and the length isn’t a flattering one for me. While they’re beautiful, the heels are too high (I still remember those days when I wouldn’t have thought such a thing was possible) and the purse not a comfortable carry (I prefer a clutch, a shoulder bag or a crossbody – a ‘flatter’ purse that doesn’t widen my silhouette )

  16. The display itself would certainly catch my eye, however for the pieces themselves a no for myself due to their style and non necessity. As to the shoes; is it me as they appear to be of the same foot? (Perhaps a deterrent to shoplifters …. ☺.) Do love the blazer on you Pam and feel you would get a lot of mileage out of it, as a mix ‘n match piece. HAPPY SATURDAY BTW! -Brenda-

  17. Nothing there for me. Red dress too short and skimpy. Pleated skirt and fitted top not for my 75 year old chunky body. Heels are gorgeous but not for my feet at this age and after knee surgery.

  18. This display is very fun and I would stop and admire it. This look would be perfect for someone who worked in a creative, professional field. I don’t, so no need for me to dress like this.

  19. Perfect outfit for an energetically bold & striking woman. No wall flower or shrinking violet she. The entire ensemble certainly makes a statement.

My preference is subtle, blended watercolours in soft, “drapey” fabrics. The warm pink cowl neck dress in the background caught my eye *grin*.

  20. It’s a cute outfit. I don’t like to wear things that are so bright and bold so I wouldn’t wear it. I don’t wear heals. Interesting outfit, I’d enjoy seeing on someone else. ; )

  21. I love the yellow bag! I would scoop that one up. I like the shoes as well. The outfit, well I either like or love most everything…this shocks me because I actually dislike that skirt. Too wild and the pleats are only good on a tall thin figure and for me, that was twenty years ago!

  22. I love a pleated midi skirt and simple top. I would not wear this outfit because the colors do not work for me. I have a pair of floral pumps that are great in spring and summer. Handbag does not appeal.

  23. I love the shoes, & if I still wore high heels, I would wear them in a heartbeat. The red dress is too short & too young for me, even though I love the color. It would look terrific on my 18 year old granddaughter. I would wear the teal top but not the skirt. It is too long for my short legs, & the knife pleats would not flatter my curves.

  24. I’ll have to say no to today’s mannequins. Not my style and not my color. But it is certainly an eye-catching display. The shoes are amazing, though!

I do love the long cardigan you are wearing, Pam! Now that is definitely one that I would wear. Olive is a staple in my wardrobe and I like the way it looks on you!! I do hope you made that purchase!

  25. Love those shoes! I think the heels are higher than I’m wearing these days, but I’d certainly give them a try. And I love the bag as well, even though I want a shoulder strap to keep my hands free. I’m a bit too boobsy to wear that close-fitting top (& I never wear round necklines because they’re unflattering on me) but the skirt is nothing I’d ever wear, frankly. Knife-pleats are too rigid & stiff to my eye, the opposite of my personal style. Those peach dresses in the background are more to my taste were they in black or silver. I’d get more wear out of the longer one with the layered skirt & handkerchief hem, but both would fit my look & lifestyle. And the short red dress to the left? I’d have been in that all day long 40 years ago, but today, no 🙂

  26. It seems too modern for me and too strong. I would try the outfit on, but I can’t imagine that the pleated skirt would look good on me. I like all the colors; the whole out fit is suited more for a tall, slim model. It also takes confidence to wear this outfit.

  27. I think it is pretty but I am too round to wear it! LOL I would try it on if I had the figure for it. The yellow bag is very cute but does not seem very practical. I like a cross body bag these days.
