You picked the Chico’s jacket and where I wore it

Drum roll, please!  Here is the Chico’s jacket you selected for me when I was stuck between which one of two to purchase!

Pamela Lutrell's Chico's Jacket Decision

Please allow me to refresh your memory!  I had tried on two jacket’s at Chico’s in The Shops at La Cantera and could not decide which one to buy.

So, I first asked a Chico’s Facebook group I am in their opinion…almost 500 responses were split in half.  When I asked the readers on my own Facebook page, they resounding liked the Animal Print Hooded Cardigan Sweater.

Then I asked you in this post.

And you picked this The Lace Printed Quilted Jacket. Here I am wearing it with the purple solid easy shirt and my Chico’s jeans.

I agree with you that it is versatile and I can wear it anywhere and do more with it as I am doing here…the purple solid easy shirt or the Traveler’s tank in cocoa bean.  I also agreed that I have a lot of animal print.

I do love the quilted jacket in red, but believed I would get more milage from the cream color.

Still not sure if I can have too much and still keeping my eye on the cardigan.

The jacket was perfect to wear to my granddaughter’s Christmas performance. On that day, it was colder so I could button up…look great and be warm.

Thanks for the help, ladies, I did read every comment…though there were close to 700 total!  Each insight was important to me.

DOWNTOWN SAN ANTONIO AT CHRISTMAS

The jacket is also perfect for sight seeing. San Antonio is one of the best places in the country to be at Christmastime.  We always go downtown, but, sadly, this year we could not partake in the usual events we attend.

The only place I went is on the edge of downtown, and it is the renovated historic Pearl Brewery commercial/retail/housing development.  It is the location for the Hotel Emma, pictured above.

The Hotel Emma is in the top 15 best hotels in the United States.

The circles on the grass are for social distancing picnics which happen regularly in this area!

I so hope next year to return to Christmastime in downtown San Antonio…it is magical…and we all can use a little magic now and then.

Thanks for being here…commenting here…sharing the posts…shopping the links…and enjoying this joyful time of year with me. Tomorrow is winter…Christmas Eve is Thursday….nothing else to do but

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. *High five*, Pamela! OK, I’m biased — I was one of the people suggesting this jacket. It looks stunning on you (& I love leopard print so was surprised at myself when I decided this one looked more elegant & more flexible in that it’s easily dressed up or down). I think you made the right choice. BUT: a few years ago I spotted a bumper sticker on a car in Vancouver that said “Life is Short — Buy The Dress”. I laughed when I saw it & it makes me laugh every time I think about it, & it’s true — life IS short, and maybe now & again we SHOULD just buy the dress! If you decide you really love that leopard jacket & it will make you happy to wear it — I say go for it. I have the feeling that you’ll have fewer regrets if you DO buy it than if you don’t 🙂

  2. I agree …Life is short is one of my personal mantras, Janet. I am still pondering the leopard cardi!

  3. That was a lot of comments to read, and I bet exhausting by the time you were done. I love that quote from Janet from the bumper sticker, and I whole heartedly agree. If you can swing it, the cardigan was gorgeous on you. Your granddaughter is adorable, and I don’t think I could keep from hugging her if I was that close.

  4. Happy Christmas week!!! 🎄 The jacket is cute, but your little granddaughter even cuter with her giant red hair bow! She looks so adorable and happy. Thanks for sharing pics of your beautiful city. I like the picnic circles! That’s taking precautions, but in a playful way. 😁 I also wanted to thank you for your kind words and prayers the other day. My father is now in a physical rehabilitation/nursing facility, and will be well into January so we will join those across the world who have had to make do with quarantine-style window visits.

  5. I don’t know about your other followers, but I’m old enough now (74) that I feel if I don’t buy or use , I’ll regret it. That good china in the China cabinet needs to be used. Those sterling silver place settings, those lace table cloths, all those fancy dishes I’ve put up to use at some fancy gathering will just be gathering dust unless I make more effort to use. During this time when we are so very aware of the swiftness of getting sick, and possibly dying during this pandemic should make us make adjustments in our daily lives to truly realize how short life is. On the other hand, I hesitate to buy that coat, sweater, dress I may like because I already have a closet full. I then tend to donate more to those organizations which benefit the truly needy. My needs have been met, and I am blessed.

  6. While I was in the “other” camp, I love how you’ve styled this jacket. It looks great with a deep, rich color under it. This is a little off topic, but wondered if you were aware that Rockport has a huge sale on shoes and boots going on on their website, with some popular sizes remaining. I picked up sneakers and two pairs of sandals for $17-27 per pair. They fill some holes in my wardrobe for my new, very, very casual lifestyle.

  7. The jacket is gorgeous on you. I think you should go for the cardi also….sales will only get better! Your granddaughter is darling and looks so happy. It’s such a magical time of year especially for the littles. San Antonio looks so beautiful.

  8. Thank you Linda! I am a huge fan of Rockport. Will add them at the top of my links right now!

  9. Merry Christmas Pam and a very Happy New Year to you and yours! Thank you for all the joy and happiness you have given me this year, just oved seeing your posts in the morning.
    Take care,be well, be happy.

  10. Hi Pamela, you purchased the one I was in favor of but I agree that you should grab the other one if you catch a good sale! Both look great in you. I just want to tell you how much I enjoy and look forward to your blog!

  11. I remember reading a book once titled “Eat the Cookie, Buy the Shoes”. It was about life being short & doing what brings you joy. Many of us tend to put ourselves last, myself included. I am trying to break out of this habit.
I was on team jacket, so I applaud your choice. Happy Christmas Week!

  12. That is actually how this blog began…I learned when I turned 50 that it was time to put me on the priority list. By doing that, I could actually do more for others, Becky.
    Thank you!

  13. Oh that jacket is so perfect for you, Pam! But your smile is what really makes that outfit!

You are blessed with such sweet grandchildren! Enjoy the holidays!

San Antonio is on my list of places to visit … when we are able to do so safely!

  14. Merry Christmas! The magical week is here, along with the Winter Solstice. Tomorrow evening I park down by the beach to watch the sky as Jupiter and Saturn converge to form the Christmas Star. Southwest sky. Just after sunset.
    Should be something……
I was in the cream jacket camp and I too love how you have it styled….it’s beautiful and so are you. Your granddaughter looks very sweet…..
I wonder if our Chicos still has the jacket or the cardigan? Hmmmmm
Enjoy the best time of the year. I’m baking today.

  15. Yes…I am talking about it in my post tomorrow, Paulette…the Christmas Star…how magical! I do not know about the stores…but both are still online. I am watching the cardigan!

  16. And hopefully when you do drive down, Beth…we can meet up for lunch! Would love that….

  17. I love that jacket on you! I have it in a taupe color, but would probably have preferred yours had I seen it. Love my Chicos!
I also love your Clarks shoes! I have those too – in bronze and in gold.
