What clothing says about you

What clothing says

“What your clothing says about you!”  This title is to remind you that your clothing does speak volumes.

Happy Monday, all.  Last week’s shopping outing with my friend Iris afforded me a perfect way to show you what clothing says about you.

WHAT MY OUTFIT SAYS

What my outfit says

At this moment, San Antonio weather is typically cold in the morning and warm in the afternoons.

So, I selected this past Chico’s jacket to wear for shopping.  This jacket says that I am creative, fun, approachable, youthful, and current.

I love to have styles like this in my wardrobe and do not mind at all the attention it draws to me.

WHAT IRIS’ OUTFIT SAYS

What Iris outfit says

Iris also selected a Chico’s faux leather jacket for our outing.

She is sassy and a little bit edgy and her clothing does say that about her. The boots add that touch of sass.

Also, her clothing says that she is not necessarily a “rule follower,” since she had on white jeans in January!

Each time I get dressed, I look in the mirror and ask…What does this say?  I make sure it speaks the style adjectives I have selected just for me in my new lifestyle.

Remember, even if we are dressed down and sloppy, it sends a message about us.

Look over these pieces and think about what they say?

WHAT MY PHOTO SHOOT OUTFIT SAYS ABOUT ME

What my photo shoot outfit says

Last week, I posted a sponsored message about osteoporosis.  Several readers on each platform asked about the outfit I was wearing.

What my outfit says at the photo shoot

When I agreed to do the shoot, I confess I was a bit nervous about what to wear for a workout in downtown San Antonio.

Most of my workout outfits for home are not photogenic! I have never really cared about what I sweat in.  But, this assignment has changed that!

My friend Leigh Ann and I were doing pictures inside of Lane Bryant around the holidays.  Leigh Ann knew I was in need of a workout outfit, so after Lane Bryant we were actually going to another store.

But, she spied the Lane Bryant LIVI collection as we were leaving.  I ended up purchasing two outfits and I love them!

Lane Bryant LIVI says fun

I felt confident and comfortable and it was easy to smile!!

I could not find online the pieces I am wearing today. I believe they may be sold out.

But, I did purchase this Pleat Trim Jacket and have worn it almost daily.

I recommend this line at Lane Bryant for plus size ladies!

So, ladies….do you take time to consider what your clothing says about you?  Any revelations?  Please share…and always…

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. I love that jacket with the dots! It is very creative and edgy, certain to get attention! I would not have the guts to wear it! Is that bag by Patricia Nash? she has such great handbags!

  2. Love your Chicos jacket in your first frame, Pamela. Really cool and so versatile. My second favorite is your workout legging and top in deep green. Absolutely must have it! Very nice!

  3. Yes! This is a Patricia Nash 10th Anniversay bag from Dillards. It is my favorite right now.
    Thanks so much, Linda!

  4. You look great in your workout gear! Thank you for the inspiration to take gear to a new level.

  5. I too like that Chico’s jacket, and can remember it on the site, but I would not break down and buy it. I have too many clothes now, and currently no place to go during isolation during our pandemic. I’m just hopeful I can still fit into my clothes after staying at home, eating too much, and staying away from the gym. Please tell Iris that was especially interested in her kitten heel animal print boots. I need to try some kitten heels as I no longer trust my ankles on high heels. And I’m going to investigate better looking athleisure wear clothing like the comfortable looking leggings and top you are wearing. I like that color, and I’ve picked on it being one you like too.

  6. Dressing nicely makes for a positive attitude and I find I’m more productive when I take time to think through outfits. Also, being dressed nicely inspires me to get out of the house and be around people, which is important especially as we get older. The Chico’s jacket is a real statement piece and would be fun to wear. It truly does carry the message you want to send. I recently updated my Foundational Five, and while not drastically different, my style message is evolving!

  7. I am wearing a lot of the type of workout wear you had on. Before I retired, I had clothes to wear to work and junky workout wear, often cotton tanks that were past their prime and faded yoga crops. Those were the only 2 categories of clothing I had. Once I decided walking was a favored activity, I decided to get some cute workout wear. My absolute favorite leggings are the Zella live in leggings from Nordstrom, but I also found several pairs of various dark colored/low contrast patterned ones from Dansko at Costco. I added half zip and tee shirt tops, and some colorful puffer vests from Karen Scott at Macy’s that were very inexpensive. Dressing up in my workout gear has made a tremendous difference. I can wear it for errands after a walk, thus not making excuses not to walk. And it tells the world I’m Aware of maintaining my health and self respect. My style words have changed a little, and are now Confident, Interesting, Creative, Casual, and Aware.

  8. Thanks Karen! Most likely, the majority of our readers are evolving. That is why I wanted to get everyone thinking about what they want to say with their clothing. I appreciate those of you who share. It helps all of us to hear from others.

  9. Funny-you are in Chico”s clothe in front of a Talbot”s window. Than you film yourself in Lane Bryant clothes. I guess there is a message somewhere!

  10. You just radiate joy in your photos – they make me smile! Love the color and pattern in the first Chico’s jacket. Very flattering on you – the sleeve length is fab!

  11. Thank you, Tess! It is easy for me to find joy in the world around me. I choose it every day. I do like this jacket alot.

  12. Hi Susan, The message is that I try to represent a variety of brands at all price levels so that this audience has a lot to choose from. I do not shop in only one store…I find “Pam style” in many places. Iris and I were about to walk into Talbot’s and decided to photograph our outfits before we began to try on clothing and mess up how we looked at that moment! I do have some favorites, but do my best to bring you many options! Also….in today’s picture at the top I am wearing my Talbot’s jeggings with my Chico’s jacket!
