Springtime flowers…friends…and fun!

Springtime flowers... friends... and fun!

Happy April 20th! Time for some springtime flowers…friends…and fun!

Last week, I met a friend for lunch and she shared the funniest story with me.

I know it would mean more if you knew her…but I want to share it with you because I know so many need to laugh!

Springtime flowers...friends...and fun!

Tonya is retired, but a go-getter.  She is always working on something…a side business, ministry, or family.  She is also very much a “Lucille Ball” type personality and I say that with love.

She showed up for her doctor’s appointment recently and as most doctor appointments go, she spent a lot of time waiting….waiting….waiting…and it is especially difficult for those of us who like to get things done.

She noticed her handbag strap was about to break, so as any good mom and grandmother does, she pulled out her trusty bottle of Super Glue while in the examination room.

Some of the glue began to spill on the floor, and she noticed it just as the doctor walked in, so she quickly put her foot (in a stylish boot I might add) over the drops of glue.

She became more and more anxious as the doctor talked longer and longer…and you can probably guess what happened next.

Yes, when Tonya tried to walk…her foot was solidly glued to the floor..She didn’t want to confess her transgressions, so the doctor was totally baffled as to how it happened.

To make matters worse, she kept pulling and pulling and pulling until a chunk of the floor came off with her boot!!

Moral of this story:  Take a book to read at the doctor’s office and leave your super glue at home!!  But always wear great shoes when you go out…you never know when the focus might be your feet!

(I hope someone laughed as hard as I did at her story!)

SPRING FASHIONS WITH FRIENDS

Springtime flowers...friends and fun!

For meeting friends this springtime, I have enjoy wearing many of the Chico’s styles!

We have had times of cool April weather, so the springtime jackets have been a blessing to have In the closet.

Springtime flowers...friends...and fun

Today, I want to show you flowers in this reversible Tropical Floral Print Tank.  It is currently on sale…and you can so so much with it since it is reversible.

Not long ago, I told you I wanted to add more navy to my wardrobe and I am so glad to have this Easy Cotton Utility Jacket in navy.  It is lightweight and perfect for our climate.

I am certain I will wear it when I go into places which blast the air conditioning this summer.  It comes in three colors and is very comfy.

Another springtime favorite, are my white No-Stain Girlfriend Ankle Jeans.

Springtime flowers, friends and fun!

No outfit for me is complete without a piece of statement jewelry and this Multi-Stone Wide Cuff Stretch Bracelet will work to add  a spark to many springtime looks.

The floral tank would be too much with a necklace, but goes so nicely with a statement bracelet.   A fun way to expand your Chico’s jewelry is to put it on your wish list for Mother’s Day!

I don’t know if family is reading this, but here are some items from Chico’s I would love to receive for Mother’s Day!!

Does anyone else have a funny story to share!  We need to laugh more often…and of course smile while we wear clothing we love.  Please share ….and always

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. That’s a great story and does sound exactly like a Lucy experience! Definitely one she can tell often! Hopefully, she was able to salvage her boot! This story, and you passing it along, reminds me to always be aware in the moments of things happening in our lives that can bring a smile or a laugh when shared with others. I think we are so busy we tend to miss such things. Your outfit featured today is so fresh and springy!!

  2. Pam your friend’s predicament is hilarious………..and reminds me that funny things can happen in the strangest places. Of course, the moral of the story is, as you mentioned, don’t carry super glue around………..
But always be on the lookout for the humorous side of things, it’s usually not too far from the surface.

  3. I really believe, Carol, that if we watch for it there are reasons to laugh every day!

  16. My husband is a physician and loved the super glue saga! That sounds like something that would happen to me. My friends call me Lucy. I would love to know how you keep your blonde highlights from becoming brassy. My Aveda highlights always seem to go brassy no matter what I do. Thank you for your always delightful blog!
