  1. Good for Ricki Lake! While I’m not struggling with hair loss (at this time anyway), I can relate to her thoughts about aging. Good that she realizes this while she’s still younger, because it will serve her well going forward. The older I get, the more accepting of myself I am and honestly not concerned with trying to be something I’m not any longer. We should be our best at the age we are and relax, rather than striving to hold onto the past. Her outlook is refreshing.

  2. It’s so refreshing to see Eileen Fisher reusing older clothing in several ways. I have a former student who now lives in NYC and wrote a book about how many of our clothes are discarded in search of more new ones. She explained that so many companies are now selling clothing poorly and cheaply constructed because the general conscientious is that they will be replaced in a season or two so they are made to sell inexpensively. Well-constructed clothing is often too expensive for the “general” public so your choices are cheap or none. And in these days of more need for recycling, clothes certainly fit that bill.

  3. The article from Who What Wear reminded me a another blog I read today. The writer, who is 62, often receives criticism for wearing shorts that some readers think are too short for a woman her age. If you are confident in what you wear, then by all means wear it, but I do think I will pass on the combat boots. Ricki Lake also speaks to that idea. As I age, I am less & less concerned about what others think. I am not in a contest to impress anyone.

  4. The ideas about the color brown surprise me, because I don’t agree at all! The pandemic did not make me feel that bright or saturated colors were in any way inappropriate, for my home or for my wardrobe. While I like brown tones for leather goods, in wood, or for hair and skin tones, I’ve been craving more pretty and cheerful color in my life.

  5. I agree with you Bee. The pandemic has been where I discovered new vibrant color. Glad you brought that up.
