Fall preparations with Talbot’s jacket #3

Fall preparations with Talbots jacket #3

Happy Sunday!  I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend…today, I am discussing how I am making fall preparations with Talbot’s jacket #3.

Just a recap: After my July birthday, I was gifted a wonderful gift card to shop at Talbot’s and as part of my birthday shopping trip I bought three jackets in their August collection.

The other posts are:  Jacket #1Jacket #2.

Fall Preparations with Talbot's Jacket #3

Jacket #3 is the new Cotton Field Twill Jacket In Sand Castle.  It also comes in Orange Zinnia.

I styled it today with a new sweater a reader turned me on to: Ann Taylor’s Stitched Crew Neck Sweater in Warm Rosewood.   This is such a great sweater…I cannot wait for cool winds to blow!

I am also wearing it with my Talbot’s pull-on jeggings and a Patricia Nash Scarf.

I chose to go with this color because I needed one this color and feel like it gives me more options.

Shopping Talbots with Leigh & Me

Today is the last day to get $20 off of pants and jeans at Talbot’s….like my Slim Ankle Jeans in Tortoise Shell…love this color!

Here are some new items at Talbot’s:

And new items at Ann Taylor where you receive 25% off full priced items through Tuesday….for more just click through one of these pictures to their site….

COLOR INSPIRATION FROM NATURE

Fall preparations with Talbot's jacket #3

Love how this butterfly inspires us to wear our neutrals with a touch of autumn color.  A great way to style looks if you do not want to wear larger swatches of the autumn colors.

We learn so much about style from the world around us……

Thank you for being here…have a great Sunday….and

KEEP SMILING!!!

  1. Good morning Pam, your entire outfit today looks fantastic on you. This jacket is my favorite out of the three, it is also the right color for me with a less structured fit. I am really enjoying the Color Ispiration in Nature. If possible, please continue with these photos. I know it is obvious, but I never thought of the colors in nature as outfit color “suggestions” and am now looking at nature in a whole new way. As I said, this should have been obvious but of course it wasn’t………….
Have a great day and week! Betty

  2. Thank you, Betty! I will continue it! Taking nature photos is one of my favorite things to do!

  3. Hi Pam! You look great ! I brought this jacket home too! It’s too warm and humid to wear right now but we will get there! Right now preparing for a hurricane about to visit our area. Henri is on our doorsteps so will sign off!

  4. I got that jacket too! I love Talbots. I’m looking at the September catalog right now. So much blue, I may be completely broke by the end of today! I’m a summer, so while I relate to all the beautiful new stuff in the stores, most are not the right colors
    Happy Sunday.

  5. I believe you will see more in your palette ahead, Mari! I have seen cool colors ahead!

  6. I’m going to put that jacket on my radar— it looks great on you! I can see it being a workhorse for me this fall & winter, too. You’ve also found that Boho treasure chest in Patricia Nash, love that scarf!
Keep bringing it— you’ve been on fire 😃

  7. It’s maybe not as fun to pick out a basic like this instead of a great print or kicky pair of shoes, but so, so necessary. You will get tons of wear out of this color vs the zinnia (which is a beautiful color, but not as versatile). It’s such a yellow beige, when many beiges have a pink or lavender undertone. I would call it cashew. I don’t think there’s a color in your palette this jacket won’t coordinate with. You looked great in both outfits.

  8. We all need our perfect neutrals and this one works for me. I like calling it cashew…that works!! Thanks so much.

  9. All three jackets look great on you, but I especially like this one. You look so radiant. Talbots is a great store for classics. I am wearing items that I have had for over 15 years. i just update with a new sweater, tee or shirt. I enjoy your blog and your positive approach to life.

  10. Such a great jacket choice! It will be perfect for fall and even winter in south Texas. I love how it goes with animal prints……and those tortoise shell jeans are such a great color! My pant wardrobe is pretty much dark denim and black so these would be a welcome addition. It doesn’t look like they’re tight in the calf (not skinny) even though they’re called slim leg, so that’s a good thing for me. Thanks for inspiring us!

  11. This jacket is such a versatile piece. I’m sure you will get so much use out of it, especially in your climate. It looks good with the sweater, but I love it with the leopard print shirt & brown pants. I’m eager for fall’s arrival. I love the sight & smells. Pumpkin bread anyone?

  12. I fell in love with this jacket from the moment I tried it on! It goes so well with so many Talbot’s tops–I loved it with the tiger print button down, and also the orange zinnia striped v-neck–both of which I also purchased! Thank you, Pamela for the animal print blouse idea–I already have several! leopard tees in my closet that will work!
If anyone can find the sale rack at Talbot’s, there are field jackets in different shades on markdown–same style. . .so a wine-colored shade from a previous season also came home with me. The trick is finding my size on the markdown racks–with a tall, athletic, broad-shouldered frame and long arms, I have to buy XL, which can be tough to find in stores–so when I find that size in a style I love,

  13. I love Talbots! Love the look and really can’t wait for fall . Sometimes I get a bit washed out in all neutrals but it works great for you. ( I was just looking in my closet and I can’t wait to wear a new pair of boots I picked up this summer at the outlets)
