Preparing for fall with Talbot’s

Preparing for fall with Talbot's

So, happy to see you on the summery Sunday!  Let’s discuss how I am preparing for fall with Talbot’s.

I recently shared with you that I was given birthday money in a Talbot’s gift card and I spent every dime of it…mostly on jackets for fall.

The first jacket  I shared with you was in the post Style Refresh 2021: Jackets & Jeans.

I knew I wanted to continue to wear jackets with my jeans in cooler fall weather, but needed new jackets in my new color palette.

My old jackets were mostly black, gray, white, and silver.

This second purchase is The Casual Washed Blazer in Jungle Green.

I styled it with Talbot’s pull on jeggings, and a yellow knit from a past Red Hangar sale at Talbot’s.

Though I do think this Dreamy Stripe Authentic Talbot’s Tee in Pear Yellow would be fun with this outfit.  This tee would do the work of adding interest that I have done here with a scarf.

Of course, I added more interest with ballet flats already in my closet, but you can easily do the same with these Ryan Buckle Loafers.

I still have my eye on the metallic gold pair!!

This is the last day for everything to be 25% off and remember the petite and plus sizes on their site.  Leigh Ann loved everything she tried in petites.

Pretty soon, I will style the third jacket I purchased but for today, here are some pieces you might want to check out…..

I am getting excited about a change of seasons…hope fall doesn’t make me wait too long!

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. I like the combination of colors here. You chose great jackets that dress up jeans but still look relaxed. I just love the zinnia color they came out with, and olive is such a good neutral. The scarf is beautiful! I find myself using scarves to “correct” certain colors that might be exiting my closet but that I’m having difficulty parting with. Yours is such a pretty design and color, and goes so well with the olive! I’m looking forward to fall also. It’s such a beautiful time of year! I’ve been working on the closet purge, especially with fall/winter things, to start, and the shopping list is growing. I have a lack of dresses for colder weather and look forward to remedying that!! Happy Sunday!

  2. Happy Sunday, Karen! Scarves are so much fun…I am excited to have them back in my wardrobe…don’t know why I stopped wearing them!

  3. Well, for me, I can wait for fall, as much as I love it, that means winter is just around the corner and that means snow and I can wait for that as long as possible. That scarf really pops and adds a fun element to your look. Those mustard loafers in the slide show would be a terrific addition. The tassels add that bit of bohemian to a classic shoe, and the colour of course. How great would that look with cinnamon bottoms.

  4. I’m done with the wildfires, smoke and heat. Fall is most welcome. Many “fall” colors are already here as the trees experience drought.

Thank you for this look ahead.

  5. I love fall transition clothes. Often the sweater weight is thinner and the pieces overall are lightweight enough to layer. I love it when I can get three seasons out a a garment. I own several Talbots Authentic tees and they last forever. I have a similar jacket bought a few years ago in a darker version of olive and wear it often. I think you will find yours a basic in your new wardrobe. Olive could be one of your core neutrals! It is so flattering on you.

  6. I am a big fan of Talbot’s. They have so many classic pieces & a great variety of colors, & the quality makes the cost per wear worth the price. The two jackets you have shown look great on you.
