Shopping Chico’s with Leigh & Me

Shopping Chico's

Happy first day of Spring!  Let’s celebrate by taking you Shopping Chico’s with Leigh & Me.

Yesterday, we entered the weekend with an explosion of color, and we are going to keep that going today while shopping Chico’s.

Color just brightens up our spring and summer after a dreary winter which followed two dreary years!

Shopping Chico’s seemed one of the best places to begin a new season of bright colors and prints.

Please remember, we often try on clothing in colors for the audience….not necessarily for us…so you will see a mixture.

SHOPPING CHICO’S TOP OUTFITS

Shopping Chico's

Leigh Ann began with this fun pair of So Slimming Girlfriend Patch Ankle Jeans, and she is wearing size 1R.

You can see a touch of leopard print in the pants, so she actually liked this SOMA Cool Nights Crewneck Pajama Tee as a top.  Why Not?

Let me comment here about the lights in the store…they are just not the best for photos and you will see that throughout the post.

I said it here because the jacket looks pink and it is not…it is coral.  She first tried these pants with the Peplum Denim Jacket in Pale Coral.

I took this picture so you could see the cute patchwork pocket in the back.

We both thought the first jacket completed a super cute look, and liked it also with the Twill Utility Jacket in Pale Coral.

Leigh Ann liked the second jacket better and thought it to be more her style.

First allow me to explain my really full hair…this was done the day before my regular appointment and it can get bushy right before!

For my first look, I selected the Colorful Journey Printed Poncho.

I am wearing it with the So Slimming Girlfriend Fringe Ankle Jeans. They are super cute!

I do want to note, that I was looking for the Paradise Lily Embellished Poncho…looks like a fabulous piece and something I would love.  However, it was not in store.

SHOPPING CHICO’S FAVORITE LOOKS

We both absolutely loved these So Slimming Beaded Girlfriend Crops on Leigh Ann.  She is wearing size 0.5 and it fits more like an ankle pants than a crop on her.

But, they looked great on her and would be so fun for a special occasion.  She tried them with the Pullover Floral Sweater.

I really like these pants!  They are the Brigitte So Slimming 360 Ankle Pants in Envy Green.

Believe it or not, a lot of fun combinations can be done with green pants and this is a great color and they are super light and comfy.

I am wearing them with the Tank Sweater in Neutral (ON SALE $39); under the Ruana Wrap which I sized down to wear.

SHOPPING CHICO’S COLORS

Shopping Chicos's

We are seeing explosions of color all over, and with “creative” in my adjectives, I am loving it!

Leigh Ann is wearing the So Slimming Girlfriend Fringe Ankle Jean which is longer on her than me (from above).  She has on a 1R.

She is wearing the Refined Jersey Center-Seam Tunic….however, I could not locate this exact print online…sometimes it is a task to match up the garments!

Shopping Chico's

I really like the Wild Print Ruana Wrap…with all of these colors you could pair it with many different items.  I sized down to S/M…it is generous.

I really liked the A-line Popover Dress and one like this would get me through some warm weather.  This is on my wish list for sure.

I also liked this Denim Tunic…soft, comfy frabic.

It looked very cute with the So Slimming Girlfriend Frayed Ankle Jeans….it is such a cute striped jean.

Despite the challenges with the lighting, the colors are fabulous and the variety of choices abundant.

A lot of fun items to get us excited for the warmer weather ahead.

Thank you for spending the first day of spring with us!  I have more fun happening this week….look for the flowers and by all means….

KEEP SMILING!!

Transition to Spring

  1. Good morning Pam. I find Chicos sizing very challenging so I rarely buy anything from them. But I really like your choices, would you mind telling me the sizes you are wearing in this post. Everything fit you well and I think I would wear them in the same size. Thank you for the help I really appreciate it !

  2. Hi Beth! I have worn Chico’s for years! As I wrote, I sized down on the ponchos and ruanas to S/M…they are generous garments. Everything else is a Size 3. I hope that helps and thank you for asking!

  3. I love Chico’s clothing line. However, I am a plus size lady so their sizing doesn’t accommodate me. I have tried. I love the classic and unique pieces that they offer. I enjoyed looking at your shopping selections. I would love almost all of them if I could purchase then in my size. Thanks for sharing.

  4. So much fun to see spring all around your dressing rooms! It will be awhile before it actually lands in northern New England. Thanks for the promising and lively post.

  5. I liked how some of your photos were taken next to a mirror, so we could see front and back at the same time. Also, Chicos seems to fit your personality best. Their accessories and colors add the fun to a basic wardrobe.

  6. So nice to see all the colorful spring clothes! I love the peplum jacket, but the real show stopper here is the dress! You look terrific in it and should definitely get that one! The color and style are both so wonderful and like you said, it would make a lot of appearances on warm days. I’m going to have to consider it too, though I’m overloaded on spring and summer dresses! Just fabulous!!

  7. I love nearly every top/shirt/ ruana /short poncho as shown! Stunning. You both look like you’re enjoying the display of color too. And for me, seeing these happy colors certainly does brighten up a grim rainy ( but gladly a tad warmer) spring weekend! Yay!
You look great in that tangerine dress too! I can see you wearing this with a pair of natural espadrilles? Comfy espadrilles. Very nice!
    Happy Sunday! Happy Spring!

  8. if I comment twice, forgive me, computer giving me freezes this morning.
I like Leighs choice of the second jacket…it reminds me of Stacy and Clinton on what not to wear, they always loved a peplum detail on everyone and said it was slenderizing, I never agreed with that.
I love the wild print ruana you have on, I have it on my wish list, and bought the henley in the same print when it was on sale a couple days ago. and I really like the denim style blouse you have on, it looks like it may be that softer material they have now, I have a tank in that material and its a favorite. maybe tercel? im not good with remembering materials, I need to post the ones I like on my desk for online shopping .

  9. It is a tencel…and very soft! The ruanas and toppers Chico’s has for spring are a lot of fun, Sheryl.

  10. I liked those green pants on you! I just bought some linen joggers in a rather odd shade of green on deep clearance at JJill. If pistachio and olive had a baby, it would be them :). I wondered what to pair them with, and unbelievably, they go with everything: maybe hot coral the best, but navy, brown, rust, red, eggplant. It really is true that if you stay in your palette, your wardrobe is as versatile as the old black. So those green pants were my faves. I also liked you in the dress. In hot weather, the air moving about you is critical, and to have sleeves is an unexpected bonus. It is a great foil for big jewelry and an even bigger straw bag.

  11. Happy Sunday, Pam. Great post and full of color as you promised — kind of like a bunch of spring tulips. I’m not a fan of uneven hems, but that orange dress is making me rethink this! I like the light blue as well but am finding orange a happy, and I hope flattering, color this year.

  12. Leigh Ann and I have the same situation in that ankle pants fit us more like regular length pants although I prefer the longer length with most pants. I have yet to buy any of Chico’s decorative, embellished jeans although I find them very attractive, and fitting my developing clothing adjectives. Many of the tops, ruanas , and jackets are so pretty and colorful for spring. Chico’s seems to be using much orange, green, black, and white in their latest clothing pieces. I especially like the wild print piece you modeled and the patchwork topper that does not appear online Leigh Ann wore. The topper you wore with green pants definitely does not appear as black and white. I hesitate to order pants from Chico’s online as I noticed Leigh Ann wore different sizes though they were denim. I currently own and wear some size 0, .5, and 1.0 pants but I tried them on in the outlet store as this store is where I’ve found most Chico items I own. There sizes can definitely be tricky as some have said.

  13. It’s so nice to see a lot of color this spring! Chicos is doing a great job with their colors this season I think. Do you mind telling me what size you are wearing in the so slimming fringe ankle jeans with the trim at the bottom? I have been finding lately that their sizing is inconsistent. Sometimes I take a .5 and others a 1 in their jeans. Do you think these run true to size? Also, I need tall and lately they are shorter than usual. Thanks in advance.

  14. Hi Carol, I wear a size 3. The shorter ones are usually the ankle pants or crops….not all are full pant lengths. I hope that helps.

  15. So enjoy these excursions with you and Leigh Ann as nice to see the clothing on two body types. As to the pop over dress; hope you purchases it as IMHO its colour and style looks amazing on you! Re the denim tunic top and as to its fabric, it reminds me of what use to be referred as chambray (its color usually in the denim blue range) and often a light-weight 100% cotton unlike the Tencel fabric which is a blend of rayon.

  16. Why don’t you call their customer service line…I am sure they would be happy to help!
