Spring as an autumn + a giveaway!

Spring as an autumn

Happy Ides of March!  For some a celebration for others a literary designation, but let’s go with the first day of the full moon!

Today, I am discussing how I look at spring as an autumn…and I have a fun little giveaway to celebrate spring!

This is my second year to face spring as an autumn…meaning I wear an autumn palette and my wardrobe is built around it.

Typically, Spring and Summer fashions feature pastels and bright cool colors as the stars.

But, I am pleasantly surprised to have already discovered some autumn warmth in colors for spring.

SPRING AS AN AUTUMN

Spring as an autumn

Today, I am wearing that same linen olive jacket you saw yesterday over my new Talbot’s top….Pebbled Dot Ruffle Shell in Ivory/Rattan.

I love this little top…it will go so well with the rest of my wardrobe and is perfect for warmer weather…it also comes in black.

I have a feeling I am going to wear this one out.

I also have on the new High Rise Straight Jeans at JCP in natural.

This pant has more of a flair to it than I typically wear, but that is one of the reasons I liked it…ready to try something new.

I like a spring look like this for me and if I want to brighten things up with accessories, then I always can.

One of my goals was to add more creamy off-white colors to replace the stark white I said good-bye to.

Here are more items for autumn palettes….

A SPRING BOX GIVEAWAY

A spring giveaway

Now for some fun…a little Spring Box Giveaway.

Right after I discovered that I am a Vibrant Autumn last year, I did a giveaway of one of my nicest necklaces that was for cool-color ladies.

A reader from Canada won and loved her new accessory.  So this is a little of that, and a few new items to celebrate the refreshment of springtime.

The box contains two beautiful scarves no longer in my colors…one from Chico’s and one from JJill.

Spring giveaway

Here is the old me wearing this fun necklace of black, white and silver.

Note: Can you see the shadows this black jacket cast on my face?  The difference is very noticeable to “me in black vs. me as an autumn.”

But I digress…..

Spring giveaway

Also included is a brand new Kate Spade makeup bag from Dillard’s, and two full products from i-On, a new skincare line just for us (ladies 50+)

Their tag line says, “You’re not aging, You’re rusting!”

Just think IRON…these products are designed to remove iron naturally before it can cause skin rusting and to repair past damage.

I encourage you to read about their skincare at this Nordstrom link….I-on Skin Care….

Spring Giveaway

Also, a tube of the Chamonix Genucel Plant Stem Cell Therapy Eye Treatment for Bags and Puffiness.

These are the skincare products I have used daily for the past four years.

Spring Giveaway

The final product in my Spring Box Giveaway is from Trinny London, Lash 2 Brow Mascara + Brow Gel.

If you are like me, you use product on our brows whenever you put on makeup…this is one you will want to try!

So, there you have it…I know it leans toward ladies in cool colors, but the warm palettes may want to try the products and pass on the accessories.  Your choice!

If you want your name “literally” in the hat…then let me know below.  Make sure I have your email, so that I can reach out to the winner for an address for shipping.

I will announce the winner on Friday!  Super Easy to enter…just tell me in the comments if you want you name in!

I am excited to bless one of you with this box and hopefully put a smile on your face…..but until then make sure all of you…..

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. Hello!! Love your blog!! Would like to be included in the box give away. Especially interested in the eye cream been searching for a good one.

  2. Yes! I would love to be entered. I don’t know why because I never win…just not lucky like that. I am a summer color palette and love the scarves. I have not heard or used the products mentioned but am open to something new. I didn’t notice until you mentioned it the impact of the color black on your face. You are right…the autumn colors suits you better. I don’t wear Capri as I am short or shorts in public because of my aging legs. Can you do a post on other summer options and how to style the outfit casually? Thanks for considering.

  3. Oh Pam, I have so enjoyed your journey to Winter! That blue scarf has my name on it!!!! Please enter me in the give away.

  4. Your name is in, Maggie! And I actually journeyed from winter to autumn! That is why I love to share my fun winter items from the past. Thanks for joining in.

  5. Please toss my name into the hat. I read your blog every morning with while enjoying my one and only cup of coffee for the day.

  6. Good morning Pam. I would love to be entered in the drawing. Those are my colors ! I am silver haired, green eyed and very fair skin so they would look amazing on me. Thank you for everything you do for us. I have learned a lot from your journey.

  7. Good morning: Put me in; I am a cool color girl and would love the scarves as well as the new products.

  8. I like the little box with the saying, “Fashion says ‘me too’ while style says ‘just me.'” Isn’t that the truth! Neither is wrong, but something to consider. Your interpretation for spring in your new pallette still says spring, even without pastels! I know where I live, we are in heavy coats and jackets and darker colors for so much of the year, when spring comes we are dashing for lighter colors. You’ve done so well with your new pallette, and without such temperature fluctuations you have the opportunity to interpret without all the “traditional” colors of spring! I personally just want spring to come!! I’d love to be entered in the drawing, the scarves are gorgeous!! Thank you for showing us different ways to interpret the changing seasons!

  9. Good morning, Pam! I would love to be in your giveaway drawing. I love reading your blog.

  10. I would love to enter your giveaway. I’m almost 60 and am searching for face and eye creams. I would love to try those shown. I also enjoy reading your blog every day. Your smile in infectious!

  11. Would love to have my name in the hat as a cool woman with green eyes and gray hair that is more ashy than charcoal. White tops are too stark for me, so I follow with interest your quest for off white-cream-ecru tops. But blue is a great color for me as well as pinks, especially ones that lean fuchsia/burgundy/purple-ish. And I am always on the lookout for great skin care products to soften the wrinkles.

  12. I enjoy reading your blog every morning with my coffee. You inspire me to stay stylish after retiring. Love these colors
as I am a silver haired woman and proud of it. Love your posts.

  13. How very kind of you to do another give away. Yes, I would appreciate being entered into the draw for those lovely items. Isn’t it great that we are now able to purchase a few things in our colours that don’t normally appear in a particular season. I was happy to pick up a few cool things last fall, which is a treat. By the way, I adore that jacket and believe you will wear it for seasons to come.

  14. I would love to be entered in the “hat”. Thank you for sharing all of your finds with us.

  15. This is so kind of you! I would love to be entered sounds like some interesting things to try. Thank you Pam

  16. I discovered your blog just about the same time you discovered you were an Autumn! I too am an Autumn and have followed along as you develop your new wardrobe. (I’ve been working on mine too!) You’ve shown me that seeking fashion in my palette doesn’t have to cost a fortune and that quality shows in the end! I was terrible about shopping a bargain for the sake of it being a bargain. It’s not a bargain if I only wear it once! Knowing I am shopping colors that will reflect me the way I want to be seen/known has been a game changer! So, I I’d like to enter your drawing mostly because I’d love to try those skin care products. Plus, I have beautiful “cool” friend that I would gift the accessories too. She’d love them!

  17. The scarves and necklace are beautiful, and trying new skin care products is always fun. Thanks for the opportunity!

  18. Put my name in, please, and if I win I will pass on the accessories. You look great in your new pants. I love mine! I too was a little uncertain about the kick flare, but I liked it enough to add a regular blue jean (NYDJ brand) to the mix after I tried this one on. I’ve decided the new-to-me silhouette adds a little something to a season that’s harder for me to dress, with it being too hot for scarves and much layering.

  19. Would love to win your “happy box” expecially the scarves. These are my colors. I have silver hair and fair skin. Thank you!

  20. I would very much like to be entered in the giveaway drawing.
    You are such an inspiration!

  21. As you probably know by now, I am a winter in colors that I wear and I would so love to receive your give-away gift bundle. So many interesting and beautiful items in my favorite blues and black as well as items you have shared but I have never bought. Please put my name in “your hat”! You are the first thing I look at daily and always feel a kinship by your ever present warmth and joy.

  22. Please toss my name in the giveaway hat. Enjoying your blog every morning! Thanks so much!

  23. Hi Pam, I would love to be included in the drawing. I love your new color palette. It is very flattering. The olive jacket paired with the cream pebbled top and jeans sings to me. You did my wardrobe adjectives some time ago, and I have enjoyed looking for clothes that fit that aesthetic. I no longer struggle with buying clothes that don’t suit me well, or fit into my lifestyle. I ask myself – does this item fit my style adjectives, or portray my lifestyle? I have eliminated many poor buying choices and improved my closet. Thank you! Your outfit today fits with my formula. I have a JC Penney nearby, so I am going to give the a n a JC Penney pants a try. I also like their St Johns pants line, when I can get the proper fit. On another happy note, for a long time, my preferred email was not receiving your blog posts, so I had to sign up with an alternate email. I am now getting your blog posts through my preferred primary email. Happy days! Keep up your joyous work, I am enjoying your blog posts. Say hi to Leigh for me. She looks like a fun friend to have.

  24. Pam, I told you long ago when you “went autumn” that this “winter woman” would love to have your cast-offs! Now I have an opportunity to do just that so please add my name to your giveaway ‘hat’! Many items in my wardrobe are blacks and blues, and I do love and wear my scarves often so your scarves would be a lovely gift for me. Plus knowing they came from you would make them especially loved and enjoyed. The other items are also interesting, and I would enjoy exploring their uses. Your willingness to share these items is another example of the giving, joyful person I feel that you are.

  25. I am a red-haired, green eyed autumn so your posts really speak to me. Spring and summer are the most difficult time of the year to find good items for the autumns. In fall and winter I wear the greens, browns and teal. Spring and summer I tend to wear the autumn navy and cream palette. This year I’ve bought some ecru jeans to add to my wardrobe. Although our styles are very different, I feel many of your colors suit. My colors were done when there were only 4 seasons but I think I’m the middle autumn. Please add my name to the drawing.

  26. It is in Penney…keep reading I am finding more of our colors this spring than I thought I would!

  27. Love to be entered in the giveaway. I am definitely not lucky as other people but I keep trying. I love reading your blog each day.

  28. Ooh, how fun – count me in for the draw, please 🙂 I’m a Deep Autumn (rather than Vibrant Autumn) though, so will probably pass on the scarves – but the skincare products sound interesting!

  29. Good Morning Pam,
thank you for thinking of your readers – please put my name in the hat also

  30. I’ve been using Chamonix for over a year now after your recommendation and I especially love the stem cell oil. Throw my name in the hat, please!

  31. Love your blog and those cool colors. Please put my name in for the drawing- Thanks

  32. I would love to have my name in the hat. I read you every morning while I have my coffee.

  33. Carmen from Canada! Love the quote about style. As a cool undertone I am currently exploring what “just me” as a retired person looks like. I really appreciate your exploration of style with us.

  34. Snorted my coffee when I read the tagline….You’re not aging, you’re rusting….how can I not get in on this!

  35. Your outfit inspired me this morning. I wear very similar colors to yours. I have cream pants on, but wasn’t feeling my cream shirt with it–haha, add my olive jacket! Isn’t it amazing what getting those stark colors out of your wardrobe does for you?

  36. That is so true! I like going in my closet now and mixing and matching. So glad I helped!

  37. I would like my name entered into your contest. I do enjoy reading your blog and read your blog every day. Sorry I don’t comment often

  38. Please put my name in the hat for the giveaway. I am always on the hunt for a good brow gel and would love to try that as well as the eye cream. I look forward to reading your blog every day. Thanks Pamela!

  39. I would love to be in the gift box drawing. Especially interested in trying the Chamonix. Thank you!

  40. I would love to be in the gift box drawing. Especially interested in trying the Chamonix. Thank you!

  41. Dear Pam…I would love to be included in your most generous giveaway! Thanks a million!

  42. Please include me in your giveaway hopefuls group. What a kind gesture!
I always finish reading your blog with a positive feeling – thank you for being a light, Pamela.

  43. Yes. Please toss my name in the bag. I-On products sound very interesting. Yikes! Now I’m rusting too!

  44. I would love to be included in your give-away. You are very generous, especially with your time and knowledge. Thank you.
As a fellow autumn, although I need more contrast as a deep, I was thrilled to see your blog today. Your outfit I can duplicate. I will try it tomorrow. I will add the deep part that I sometimes struggle with in the spring/summer as my jewelry. Also, is there a place where followers listed their Foundational Five adjectives? I am struggling paring it down! Perhaps you could revisit the technique you used one day and people could list their chosen words.
    Have a great day!

  45. Pamela,

Love your blog! I’ve learned so much. I’m excited, too, for the videos you’re beginning to post.
Please enter my name for the drawing.

  46. I have enjoyed watching your transformation into a vibrant autumn. The olive jacket looks great on you! Thank you for sharing your journey. Please put my name into the hat.

  47. Wow! Look at all these entries! Such fun! Please add my name to your hat! Would most love to try the Chamonix eye product. Thank you for your generosity and joyful spirit!

  48. I would love to be entered. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful ideas and for keeping it real.

  49. Hi, Pam, What a different between former you and you today! I’m going to purchase the Chamonix products — no need to enter me in the drawing, but I love that you are doing this. Happy St. Paddy’s. BTW, last night I poached salmon with wine, water and bay leaves – then added cream; added leeks as well as potatoes and carrots boiled and chopped separately. I covered the whole thing with puff pastry. Very healthy except for the pastry — and really delicious.

  50. Your salmon sounds amazing, Maeve….and I hope you like Chamonix…these products have really turned my skin around in my sixties…just love it!

  51. I will do that again one day next week, Deborah. Everyone sent them when I promoted it before and I will do it again for you and, of course, you can send them to me any time. Oh yes…you are entered!

  52. Yes, I would love to win this box of goodies. I look forward to your blog each day.

  53. Please enter my name in the spring box drawing. I have just recently found your blog, and I really enjoy it! Thank you!😊

  54. Thanks Cheryll…I look forward to all of you being here daily. You are in the hat.

  55. Would love to win your giveaway. Have enjoyed your post for a while with my cup of coffee.

  56. Please enter me. I’m not buying much right now because I’m losing weight but getting lots of ideas from you. Your blog is helping me think about what I want to buy in future. I love that you include less expensive retailers like JCP. The post on thrifting was very appreciated. Thank you.

  57. PLease put my name in your hat too! I love you in your autumn colors. You are making me a believer in color analysis!

  58. As you know I am huge believer…it has changed everything for me in a good way. Thanks for being here, Jill and your name is in!

  59. I love you posts and I especially like when you have your petite friend models outfits. Please include Leah’s height and weight if she will disclose and size of the iems she tries on. I am only five two and I wear both petite and regular clothes as ankle jeans are full length on me. I live in Michigan and due to covid i became more casual and masked up everywhere. Please enter me in the drawing as due to lower infection rates I am looking forward to going out mire.

  60. Happy to include your name…and let me speak with Leigh Ann about the measurements. I hope you will be out and about soon!

  61. Learning our color family is so helpful – but can be a bit tricky if it seems “off-season”! I’m a spring and looking for “spring” colors in the fall and winter seasons can be a bit of a treasure hunt! I’m always happy when I find my color – no matter what the season is! Thank you for offering a gift box! What a great opportunity to try some new products – hopefully! I always enjoy your upbeat and positive blog, Pam! A great way to start the day!

  62. Hi Pam, I also enjoy reading your blog every morning. There is always something of interest for me to read. I REALLY am very interested in being in the drawing as I would really look forward to trying those eye products as I have tried many over the years. I am recovering from a broken femur (for 3 months now), and no, Im not looking for a sympathy vote, just need some cheering up. Will look forward to the next blog!

    Love your styling tips Pam!

  63. Hi Carol, I hope I can cheer you up whether you win or not! So sorry about the broken leg! You are entered in the hat!

  64. I also have fallen in love with your blue scarf. All of your scarves make a great addition to any outfit. Please add my name to your list.

  65. I have been a faithful reader of your blog for quite sometime! Always an inspiration! Please include me. In the drawing. Blessed
    St. Patrick’s Day! 💚💚

  66. I would to have a chance to win. I enjoy your reading your blog too, very uplifting and informative.

  67. Hi Pam, please count me in among the many who both enjoy your blog and would like to be entered in the draw!

  68. Enjoy reading your blog multiple times a week and appreciate the variety of topics you cover. I’m wondering if you will ever discuss the San Antonio Shoe SAS company. I just love their shoes and really regretted we didn’t visit the factory after we attended the ceremony of our grandson’s completion of 6 weeks basic trading at nearby Air Force base. Just a thought.

  69. I have written about SAS several times and toured the factory. It is awesome to have it here locally. I will try to do an update for you soon, Roberta. Thanks for reading.

  70. I love your blog and follow it regularly! I would love to be included in the drawing for the give away. Your scarves are my colors! Thank you for all you do to inspire women!

  71. I would love to put my name in for the giveaway. I am very interested in the eye cream and scarves. I’m also very interested in how you wear autumn in the spring. Thank you very much.

  72. Hi Pamela,
I would like to be thrown in the hat for the spring give away box. I’ve been following you for several years & I look forward to your posts. San Antonio is on my bucket list now that we can travel again.
Thanks for all your insight for all us gals over 60.

  73. I enjoyed the not aging, but rusting comment!! That being said, I read the ION product line, and was interested!!
I love your olive jacket, one of my favorite colors! Thank you for sharing fresh ideas everyday. I look forward to reading your blog, Pam! Please put my name in the hat! Thank you, and God bless.

  74. Blessings to you as well, Linda. Your name is in the hat…thank you for being here.

Our spirits will not be broken. Your blog is topnotch – and jump starts my day as I enjoy freshly-brewed coffee and quiet reflection on how to improve and brighten the day. I cherish relaxing mornings with your mantra to keep smiling. As I navigate major life change at 73, I enthusiastically join your thoughtful, generous, beautiful giveaway. Keep being you!

  78. Of course, your name is in the hat Sharon! Also, I make sure to get the different names correct when I write them down…lots of Lindas in this one!

  79. I’d love to be included in your giveaway. (I’m a different Sharon than the one that entered yesterday.) Love your blog and all the effort you put into making it educational to us (and entertaining).

  81. Love your blog and follow you on Instagram! Only blog that I read. Please include me in your drawing!

I’d love to be eligible for your special box!
    Dale
